watched neon genesis evangelion for the first time and really enjoyed it. i put it off for the longest time thinking it'd be depressing, but it's honestly pretty approachable if you keep in mind that it's a story about humanity trying and failing to prevent the apocalypse. there's plenty of action and fun little character moments in the meantime. people also were NOT lying about this show running out of money for the finale. it almost cannot be overstated how obvious it is that they ran out of money for the finale
