Sorry if this was asked before (I'm a pretty new follower and I didn't have time to scroll much) why u draw Shiryu's skin green a Hyoga blu? ๐ค
hiya~ no one ever asked before so I'll answer gladly.๐ well, at one point, I wanted to play around with funky colors while doing my Saint Seiya fanart. To me, the Bronze saints are like magical girls, each having his own special costume, power and palette.
Hyoga is the ice bending girlie, I thought it would be funny if he was visibly colder than the others. Like, he spent so much time in a freezing cold environment he became blue. ofc, doesn't make sense scientifically, but not every design choice has to.
Same for Shiryu. He is associated to waterfalls and rivers. His armor is sea-green, a beautiful color, both swampy and reptilian so I kept something similar for his skintone. To compliment his skin, I go with dark purple for his hair instead of pure black.
You can see the same kind of color choices on the other saints (Shun is a great exemple, he's a pink thing). Sometimes I use tones close to the armors colors, sometimes I use complementary hues to contrast with their hair/eyes color. These palettes might even change with time. I'm simply having fun with these characters, and unexpected colors give them and my drawings more personality imo ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I hope it makes sense ๐ซถ
