dye jobs were much less of a chore, now that she had someone to help her with it. she couldn't walk around with her dark roots showing, but she didn't want to spend hours doing it by herself, and she didn't want to spend her good money on a professional dye job. having byan to help her was like a god send, they were the only person she'd trust to properly dye her hair, they wouldn't let her hair burn off.

this time around, they both made the discovery that nobara's hair had gotten a bit longer than her norm. she'd been so busy lately, that her hair had been the least of her worries. these days, she found herself pulling it back in some kind of ponytail. but it's been so long, she forgot how to style it. so, of course, she jumped on the idea of letting them braid her hair.

the feeling of fingers gliding through her hair is a feeling she could get used to, putting her in a state of relaxation that makes it a bit different to engage in their conversation. she might have to let them do this more often. “ once you're done, we should, totally, go out and do something. it'd be sucky if nobody got to see your handy work.. ”

they seem pretty determined to try and do his hair, with how short it is. he recalls voicing his concern pretty early on, and now that he thinks about, they might be doing this out of spite, to prove that he’s full of bullshit. they’ve already sprayed his hair with sonic water, it’s dripping down his face in small streams. supposedly it will help them style his hair easier, but he doesn’t see how. all he sees is them struggling, even with his hair damp.

clearly, he’s misjudged them. after a bit of struggle, they manage to put his hair in a few ponytails. it’s a weird sight to see, when he examines himself in his phone’s camera. he’s seen himself in a full face of makeup, no thanks to nobara, but even she wasn’t bold enough to try and do his hair. that, or she didn’t have the same patience and determination as byan.

he doesn’t get to look at himself for too long, when every ponytail gives way, shooting up in different directions. it’s almost like an explosion went off in his hair, one, by one, by one… “ i thought that would happen. ” but it’s still disappointing, he didn’t even get to snap a picture. “ why can’t i do your hair instead? yours is much longer than mine. ”
