sorry to bring this up but phil bringing up that being gay was considered a mental illness when he was born. still not over just how brutal that felt to me

and he’s not even 40 yet. this was honestly a rough episode emotionally. i really appreciate that they understand pride month is more than a celebration. the celebration is so important (like just look at what 2019 pride did for dan) but it goes hand in hand with recognizing that historically and today so many people work to take our rights and humanity away.

but it really is like the young minds flower garden from this year. even if we shouldn’t have to, we can grow even amidst stone.

i love and am so proud of dan and phil and of every other person in our broad and beautiful community.

Can we talk about how Phil has said more than once that if he were immortal, he would want Dan to be too, and this time Dan did not even try to be a doomer about it? He was like oh, you wanna live for 600 years? Guess I'll have to live until then too.

well you see he has no choice because phil said he’d be sad if he didn’t have dan with him for all 600 years and dan can’t have that so.

but for real it makes me crazy that phil really is dan’s exception for so many things. the concept of soulmates, immortality, commitment. he’ll accept it all if phil asks or if phil is involved. there’s always a large phil in the room.

it’s really cool (and also kind of attractive??) to see them when they really are in their professional element and are so good and smooth at what they do. meet and greets are one of those things (even though i’ve never met them myself) where you watch them in videos and hear stories from fans about their script and how experienced they are with every scenario and every reaction and know how to respond.

and then i’m always thinking about the overcooked livestream and adam starting to explain how to read out the donation messages and before he even finished they had the cards and were reading them out and riffing and being funny and that whole stream was basically dan and phil taking their years of radio and presenter experience and showing folks how fucking skilled they are at jobs they don’t regularly do anymore but they still have those skills.
