Have I ever mentioned how genuinely proud I am of mamamoo? Like they’ve come so far and have done so damn much in just four years and god they’ve grown so much.

Solar went from our dorky mochi yeba to a strong and sexy woman who is comfortable in her body and voice. She had her own damn concert, after only four years, that’s so fucking amazing. She kept going even when she felt like giving up, she improved her singing and dancing so much in the past 4 years and I am so proud of her. She knows what she’s good at and works until she can perfect everything she sets her mind to. She is an amazing leader who really loves her members and would do anything for them. Yongsun really has grown and I admire her and all she does.

Byul went from being only a rapper and being insecure about her singing voice to having solo stages and composing her own songs. She has gained so much confidence in her abilities and seems to no long need to hide behind greasy feigned confidence (though we will always love greasy byul). She has dealt with her own fair share of hate and ridicule for reasons that don’t make sense. She has fought every day of these past four years to prove she is enough and she belongs where she is. Even through all her self doubt she made sure moomoos know she loves us and wants to do her absolute best for our sake. She is so selfless and strong and I am so proud of how far she has come since debut. I hope Byulyi knows just how important she is to us and I hope she continues to follow her dreams.

Wheein has grown to showcase not only her beautiful vocals but also her dancing ability and artistic skills. She shows us that she can be cute and sexy and make every concept work for her, which is something not everyone can make do. She can be strong when she needs to be but also knows when to balance things out with her goofy disposition. She has such a pure heart and is always smiling, even though she has had her fair share of struggles. Even though she has mentioned struggling with depression and possible eating disorders, Wheein makes sure moomoos don’t worry about her. She works so hard for herself and for her members and is always making sure Hyejin is alright. She isn’t just a cute dorky puppy; she is a strong and wonderful woman who I am so proud of.

Hyejin went from being self conscious of her body to owning her curves and being unapologetic about her looks. She knows she’s hot and isn’t afraid to flaunt it. Even so, she’s still so down to earth and wants nothing more than to make music and see fans happy. She is so unashamed of who she is now and doesn’t let anything people say bring her down. She fights to show us that you can be feminine and break social norms and still be strong; feminity does not equal weakness and it is not the default. She is our talented and strong maknae who can both sing and rap with ease and moves us all with her kind heart and beautiful voice. I adore this woman and everything she has become and I hope she can continue being so happy with herself and what she does.

Mamamoo have grown so much individually but also as a group. They rely so much on each other, to bounce energy off of or comfort each other when something isn’t right. They work so well as a group and the trust and love is clear to see. These are four women who have worked their asses off to get where they are now. They have done so much in this year alone and barely rest it seems, all to bring fans as much content as they can. They’ve dealt with hate, pain, ridicule, and mistakes to make it to what they are doing right now. Mamamoo is so strong and have come so far, I admire their perseverance and professionalism so much, as well as being able to still be so natural and true with fans. They are so down to earth and dorky, while still knowing when to be professional and strong. I am just so proud of them and I will forever love and support these four beautiful angels.
