Andy Goldsworthy has to be one of my favorite artists aside from Vincent Vangogh. This piece, so far, is one of my favorites that he has made. This gives the ground such a splash of color. Also, I would hate to see a great piece of art like this fade away. It’s so astonishing how he can handle letting his art go.Â
My temporary nature sculpture proved as truly temporary. Went from cultic Grinch stole Christmas to nightmare before Christmas to utterly disastrous.
I loved your nature piece! It really reminded me of a tree that you would see in The Nightmare Before Christmas with it’s spikes and color. I also like how you put the sculpture near other sculptures that related to yours.

This piece reminds me of some kind of door handle. The yellow-green color also makes me think of an unripe banana. Something about it just really intrigues me. The shadow that this piece casts also interests me because it looks almost like a straight line from the angle of this photograph, which contrasts against the curves of the piece.

It does look like a door knob! Also, the color is very bright which really makes the piece stand out
Prometheus by Ethan Sherman.
I really like how this piece lets you interpret how it ties into the story of Prometheus. Prometheus was punished for stealing fire from the gods. Everyday, while he is chained to a rock, Prometheus gets his liver eaten by an eagle. His immortality makes this punishment eternal. The reddish stroke of paint could represent a feather from the eagle or the wound where Prometheus’ liver was located.Â

It’s amazing how Ethan could create a story from such a simple stroke of red paint! The color kind of reminds me of blood, which is probably meant to represent the liver that was eaten by the eagle.
For this project I had to scale up an everyday object at least four times using any medium. I scaled up a Dove bar of soap using cake as a medium. It’s yellow cake, vanilla icing, and homemade marshmallow fondant.
Your soap sculpture was so amazing! I love how you washed your hands with it after the critique....even though you might have been the one that clogged the sink XD
For this project we had all the pieces to an IKEA stool, and we were supposed to incorporate all of them into a design that made the original function unrecognizable.
By far my favorite of the class . Very froo froo.
Your stool sculpture was so pretty! You made it look like a decoration that could be seen on a table at a wedding reception! The colors also work so well together! :)
Claes Oldenburg “BLT” I found this piece very relatable because it has to put together precisely in order and i do that when he comes to making sandwiches.
The precision during the setup was jaw dropping. Such intention.
This was a really fun sculpture that Claus did! It was almost like a puzzle! You would have to think what goes first, the lettuce or the bacon :D
For this assignment we were only allowed to use six sheets of corrugated cardboard, a box cutter, and paper packing tape. We had to make a chair that would hold our weight.
Rachel’s present was my favorite chair. Because it wasn’t just FUNctional. It was decorative.
Your chair was so cute! It felt like Christmas when you brought it into the room! Also, the holes kind of made it like you could peek inside and see what was hiding inside the present!
Matchbox project objective was to make a sculpture using a box of matches. We couldn’t use tape or glue so I used a styrofoam cone.

House. Boat. Plane.
3D design project with the instructions of creating a sculpture out of card board that involved intersecting pieces with little to no usage of glue. We were then asked to intersect a still life of glass bottles into our sculptures. My sculpture held up pretty well after the final step of removing the bottles. This is my sculpture after the bottles were removed.
Her sculpture held up much better than mine did.
As did mine. My sculpture was DECIMATED by the bottle penetration.
Yeah your sculpture did hold up well! Mine was destroyed afterwards but yours looked so neat and tidy! :)
This is a piece done by Ethan Sherman. The way Ethan put paint on kind of reminds me of cake icing. Also, I find it interesting how the colors really differentiate.from eachother, such as the pink and blue compared to what is around the two colors.
I really like this piece by Ross Bruebeck. It reminds me out cheetah print in some way. Also, it really stands out because of the red color which is a very bright an alarming color.
I have always loved Claus Oldenburg’s work, especially this piece. I love how when you look at any of his sculptures, you feel like you are as small as an ant. They are just so realistic! This one sculpture makes me think I am at a picnic! Also, it kind of makes me think that it’s a moment in time from looking at how high up the cherry is on the spoon. I would think it would have fallen off the spoon by now if it was real.
This is a color wheel we had to make out of pieces of colored paper. It took a while to complete! We had trouble figuring out what true blue was.
This piece by John Baldissari is a very interesting piece. By the looks of it, he took a bunch of photos, cut around them, and put them all in a certain place to make them look like a room setting. However, my eyes keep going to the blue and red on the art piece. I believe it is because they are the colors that stand out the most.
I can’t help but LOVE this piece by Jeff Koons! No, it’s not because I love baloon animals. I just love how realistic this looks! It’s amazing how he got it to actually look like the rubber from a balloon. I also like the reflection the sculpture gives of everything around it.
This is a piece of architecture done by Buckminster Fuller. This is such an amazing piece! It almost reminds me of a force field as well as the giant golf ball-like structure at Disney World’s Epcot. The pattern really adds to it and gives it a geometric effect.
