TWILAāS BACK YO IM SO EXCITE
@twilaofthenight i gotta make you new icons sometime ;3
I don't know if "back" is the right word, but she's caught my attention again! :)
Someone clearly missed Navi quite a bit. Namely, a certain felinombra who had over-excitedly tackled her into the biggest and happiest hug ever to have been given.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āWhat in theā?ā Navi stumbled over at the sudden attackābut it wasnāt long before she recognized and enthusiasticallyĀ returned the gesture.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āSIS!!ā The fairy squealed, holding Twila just as tight.Ā āItās been too long!! By Farore, I missed you!! How is everything?āĀ
Twila laughed as the other girl returned the hug, and nuzzled her face into her shoulder.Ā āItās good!ā She exclaimed, obviously in a better mood than usual. She really did miss her sister a bunch.Ā
She pulls away to stare at Navi, grinning unabashedly. Her tail flicked back and forth in almost a wag, everything about her humming with energy. She seemed, older, somehow. Sheād grown taller, her fur a little less ruffled. Itād been quite some time since Navi had seen her last.Ā
āIāve missed you too! Helm has been annoying. He wont admit it, but iām sure he missed you as well. How was your trip? Did everything go okay? Iām sorry I wasnāt around to send you off. Life has been busy for me, too.ā Ā
Wanted to send a reminder how much I love reading your RPs and love your muse <3 Keep on writing!
Thanks lovely!Ā I donāt do a lot of writing anymore on this blog (You can find me on @forgottenangelic ) But i appreciate it nonetheless!
By now, Navi knew all of Twila's hiding places. It didn't take her long to find her sister holed up in one, curled up in a warm-looking blanket of purple feathers. "Pssst!" Navi nudged the sleeping form gently. "Hey, wake up!! I brought you a present!!" Then, for her nose to admire, Navi brandished a bar of chocolate. "Come oonn, Twila, wake up. Don't tell me you don't want this."
Twila grumbled unintelligibly as Navi invaded her favorite hiding spot, a little nest in a hollowed oak, lined with furs and Helmaroc feathers. She was bundled up into a little fluffy ball, completely encased in warm material. Needless to say, she was not looking forward to waking up any time soon, especially since she was supposed to sleep for the entirety of the winter season. So when her fairy friend prodded her, she got a very nasty and loud growl from the immobile pile of fuzz.Ā
Now, thatās not to say she couldnāt be persuaded. It only took her a second or two of consciousness to sniff out the tempting package of chocolate, and one narrowed, dark eye appeared, obviously weighting the temptation against the consequences. Never being one to turn down an offer of the dark treat, Twila reluctantly uncurled herself and reach for the package with a wide, toothy yawn.Ā
āThis better either be important or come with cuddles.ā Twila growled irritably.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Navi smiledāeven though she saw less of Twila during the winter, the visits that she got were some of her favorites. Her sister was just so cuddly and sweet.Ā āAbout a month since the last time you saw me. I donāt know the exact date, sorry. I still donāt keep track. Honestly, though, you havenāt missed a whole lot. Helmās still sulky, the Kokiri have cabin fever, and everyone else is⦠well, themselves. Itās been boring without you.ā This statement was accompanied by an affectionate ruffle of the Felinombraās hair.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āWhat about you? Is hibernation going well? Whatās it like?ā Maybe it was a dumb question, but the fairy was curious. Hibernation was a fascinating behavior to the fairy; she knew that it was necessary, but she still couldnāt fathon how someone could sleep that much.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Twila hummed a small note of affirmation. It sounded about right. A month was much longer than usual, but its not like she could complain about getting extra sleep.Ā āSorry Iāve been boring. You can visit more often though. You donāt haveĀ to let me sleep all winter.ā She smiled and shifted to get more comfortable once again. The action was mostly just to keep herself awake, however.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The third question caught the Felinombra off guard, and she thought about it for a moment, her tail twitching.Ā āWell, Itās just like any night for a fairy like you, whoās used to a regular pattern. But it lasts no matter how long you rest. Your limbs get really heavy, and you slow down. All you want to do is find someplace soft to rest your head so you can...ā A yawn broke through her sentence, making Twila squeeze her eyes shut and tremble a little.Ā ā...So you can sleep again. Being hungry is irritating because that means you have to wake up and find food and it interrupts your nap. When youāre asleep... nothing is different. At least, not that Iām aware.ā
[Text] It's just that my dad used to handle this stuff... jeez, I'm not cut out for this at all, am I?
{To: Sis}: What? do i have to march myself over there and beat some sense into you?Ā {To: Sis}: where is this coming from? you are like, litrally the best sibling ever. you may not be exactly your dad, but imo your just as good a parent{To: Sis}: and prolly prettier, too ;3
{To: Sis}: Really? I guessed wrong then. I just sorta assumed you had a really great brand of hair dye. {To: Sis}: Also, donāt think youāve distracted me from the point of this voncersation. Youāre a great sister, and besides, youāve got me to help out. Worldās #1 babysitter, right here.
{To: Twi Twi}: I wish. Trust me, I tried to convince Dad manyĀ times that I should be able to dye it brown or something. He wouldnāt let me change it :PĀ
{To: Twi Twi}: Yeahā¦.Iām doing my best as a sister, but kids need parents too, you know?Ā
{To: Sis:} Smart papa. It suits you, really. Keep it blue. Plus, itād be so much harder to pick you out of a crowd. {To: Sis} Hey, I didnāt need any parents. I was literally raised by crazy people my entire life. Just passed on from one weirdo to the next. And believe me, weāve got weirdos to spair. the kids will be just fine.
@cutie-toes
Happy Valentineās Day~!!
oh my god this is so late-- thank you lovely!!! Twila will deny it but she loves it very much :)
Forging a Night to Remember (Au Academy RP w/Twilaofthenight)
When Helm feels his best friend shudder and his shoulder become wet with tears, his arms around her tighten protectively. A lot had happened in not a lot of time. This was new territory for the both of them. But no matter what happened, Helm knew he was going to be there for Twila. She was the friend heād never had, the person he would trust with his life. He would do anything for her. So while she Ā let go of the fears that had built up inside for so long, Helm held her close, one hand rubbing small circles on her back, and occasionally whispering to her and saying it would all be okay. Really though, he was whispering it to the both of them.
When Twila pulls away from his embrace after a few minutes, Helm tries to keep a comforting smile on his face. But as soon as Twila mentions Damion, his face darkens. No, he hadnāt forgotten about the other boy. But there had been more important matters to attend to, so Helm had put Damion out of his mind. But Twila was right. If Damion would go so far as to call the police on Twila and try to get her locked away for murder, then who knew what sort of lengths heād be willing to go to get her caught? What lengths would he go to in order to make sure Helm stayed out of his way?
The boy glances away for a few seconds, trying to collect his thoughts. Heād never liked Damion. He used to think the boy was annoying, and had started to hate him when he tried to take Twila away from him. But now that heād nearly ruined her life? Now that heād sent police officers stampeding through the school, sent Twila to the jailhouse, and forced her to be interrogated and meet with her adoptive parents? It was hard for Helm to feel anything other than contempt while thinking of Damion.
āā¦If that worthless excuse for a human comes anywhere near you, Iām taking his head off.ā It didnāt matter how impossible the task sounded. Helm sounded completely serious. In Helmās mind, someone that malicious didnāt deserve any mercy.
Twila couldnāt help it. She laughed. The mere idea of having someone to look out for her, to protect and love her despite who she was, what she did, it was beyond her imagination. Sure, Riley did, but she was so far away, and so different from everyone else... the fact that Helm, of all people, saw her as herself, and not a monster? She laughed. She was so relieved, she couldnāt help it.Ā
Twila reached forward to cup Helmās cheek, smiling without worrying about keeping her teeth hidden.Ā āYou have no idea how happy that makes me.ā She murmured to him, looking back and forth between his eyes. Her heart thudded in her chest, her cheeks were flushed. She couldnāt tell if it was because she was happy or... something else, but regardless, she knew Helm was the reason.Ā
āThank you. For everything.ā Her voice was soft, delicate. She sighed.Ā āI dont know what I would have done without you.āĀ

āThis better either be important or come with cuddles.ā Twila growled irritably.
Ā Ā Ā Ā The growl, at this point, didnāt phase the fairy one bit.Ā Now that Twila was awake, Navi felt farĀ more confident in crawling into the hollow tree with her.Ā āHow about both?ā She hummed quietly, leaning against the sleepy felinombra and scratching her ears gently- after giving her the sweet treat sheād brought, that was.Ā āWell, really I woke you up because greyfaces made me. But also, I missed you. Thatās important, right?āĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Twila took around half a second to have the candy bar opened and stuffed into her mouth. Navi knew she had a harder time with nuts and toffee, so the fairy had made sure the sweet treat was nothing but creamy and smooth chocolate... just like Twila liked. This fact alone made her incredibly happy, coupled with the ear pets and undivided attention, well, any gruff demeanor had completely dissolved.Ā
āMmmmmhm.ā Twila mumbled, her mouth stuffed with chocolate. She didnāt even care that the visit was a forced one, she was reaping the benefit. Still quite tired, the felinombra snuggled close to her sister, --though the hollow was small enough to make that unnecessary-- and sighed in contentment.Ā āI missed you too.ā She said, the sound barely recognizable between the chocolate and the ear pets.Ā āWhat happened while I was asleep? What day is it?ā

Legend of the Bloodbender
the-helmaroc-king1:
teenagenavirp:
Navi slowly and laboriously made her way towards the other, breathing heavily by the time sheād caught up. Sheād known that the bloodbender was waiting for her, and sheād assumed that the pair would keep moving as soon as sheād caught up- being swept off of her feet was completely unexpected, and was enough to draw a small yelp from the other.Ā āHey, are you-you sure youāre strong enough to carry me all the way to the nearest town?!āĀ
When no answer came, the airbender sighed and relaxed. If her comrade became tired, sheād do her best to walk. The rest, for now, was incrediblyĀ welcome, what with how weak and exhausted the girl had become throughout her entire ordeal. Slowly, between the rocking movements of the bloodbenderās stride and the calming noises of the forest, the airbender began to drift into a deep sleep.Ā
Nobody stopped the boy when he rode out from the stables on the back of a mongoose lizard. Has a higher ranking official seen him, they might have tried to stop him. But the other soldiers who noticed didnāt say anything. Perhaps in their minds, Helm was simply taking the cowards way out and running away. But Helm wasnāt leaving forever- at least, he hoped he wasnāt. he was going to find the Avatar and the Bloodbender and bring them back. Heād captured the Avatar once, he could do it again. And he could subdue the bloodbender, as long as he didnāt find them on a night of a full moon.Ā
Gritting his teeth as the lizard races forward, Helm turns his eyes to the sky. Others would be searching for them, but Helm had something the others didnāt. His falcon had been the first to fly after the escape. Heād seen the direction the bird had flown. The boy trusted the instincts of his friend. And though he didnāt see the falcon in the sky at the moment, he knew it wouldnāt lose the escaped prisoners. That falcon wouldnāt betray his expectations.
āāā
Far away, that falcon was doing its best to not let his handler down. The boy he reported to was relying on him to find those prisoners, and the bird wasnāt about to let him down. The falcon had taken off in the direction the prisoners had fled, and had been watching them for a while. From high above in the sky, its little eyes watched the two girls travel. But the falcon couldnāt stay in the air forever. And as long as those two were moving, he couldnāt leave to report back to his boy. He knew to wait until they had stopped to rest, in order to give himself more time to leave and find them again.
Though the falcon was getting tired from flying so long, he knew he couldnāt leave. So the bird descends, trying to stay out of their sight, but trying to land in a nearby tree to watch them. As they walked by, the bird flew to a tree further ahead, watching the pair as they approached, and then walked by. The falcon did his best to stay out of their sight. heād been trained not to let himself be seen by what he was tracking. If there was one thing heād learned in his training, it was that a spotted bird was a dead bird. And a dead bird wouldnāt be able to report back to his boy.
Twila carried the other girl for quite some time, finally coming across the river she had heard. She didnāt mind that Navi had fallen asleep, no, she actually quite enjoyed the silence that it brought. Being kept in a cage with no sounds other than your own thoughts got you used to the quiet. She actually rather enjoyed it.
Reaching the side of the creek, she gently laid Navi down on the grass beside the water. Itād been an obscene amount of time since sheād last had a bath, and regardless of how cold the water may have been, she was not going to pass this up. Wasting no time at all, she undressed herself and waded deep into the river, relishing the feeling of fresh water running past her. She hadnāt had a proper bath in years, and while this wasnāt exactly ideal, it was a blessing all the same.
Dunking her head under the water, she rinsed her hair, getting all of the dirt and dust and grime out of the dark locks. Some of the tangles came out as well, but that didnāt fix how hindersome and heavy it was. Sheād need to cut it short before interacting with the general population. Having knee-length hair was likely to draw some unwanted attention.
It took her longer than expected to get all of the filth off of her skin, but she looked and felt much better. Afterwards, she reluctantly dragged herself out of the water, shivering. While she would have loved to stay in the water forever, it was much to cold to realistically do so. She squeezed as much water out of her hair as possible, and then re-dressed herself, breathing a sigh of fresh air. She didnāt care how hard it got from this point on, she would never regret escaping from that prison. Never. This was the best feeling sheād ever had in her life.
Helm had come to Twila's forest expecting to see, well, Twila. But the Felinombra he came across certainly wasn't his mate. On instinct, the feathers along the bird's spine rise warily. There was a part of him that almost recognized this stranger's face. A part of him could have sworn he'd seen this stranger before, or at least heard of them. But there was something strange about them that held him back from remembering. "You have five seconds to tell me who you are before I rip you apart."
Pardus raised an eyebrow when a giant, unfamiliar bird landed in front of him. His tail flicked suspiciously, but his face was carefully neutral. Curious, even. He was outwardly unfazed by the avian.Ā
āMy name is Pardus, and thereās no need for that.ā He purred smoothly, glossing over the threat as if it were irrelevant.Ā āIs there anything I can do to service youā¦?ā He trailed off, not knowing the proper terminology for the creature standing in front of him.
the-helmaroc-king1:
Helm was grateful that he and Twila didnāt fight often. But even though fights were rare, they did happen occasionally. And something heād learned about her fighting strategy was the way she growled when she was about to attack. Subconsciously, the bird had been waiting for that cue. But it never came. Instead, Pardus catches the bird off guard by silently racing towards him, giving no warning whatsoever.Ā
Caught by surprise, the bird tries to snap at Pardus, his mind confused by the sudden attack. But Pardus had caught him off guard a second time. While Helm had been trying to snap at where he thought Pardus was going to appear, the Felinombra fooled him yet again. Helm had lowered his head to try and grab Pardus as he slid under his head. But the Felinombra did just the opposite, leaping on top of him, and digging his claws deep into the birdās neck.
The Helmaroc Kingās neck throbs with pain as another screech was torn from his throat. The massive bird spreads his dark wings, raises his head, and tries to shake his head all around to try and dislodge the Felinombra. Helm knew all too well what would happen if this creature was able to sink its fangs into him.
His throat and neck stinging from the large gash, each movement of his head was stiff and painful. To try and make up for this, and to try and knock the Felinombra off him, the massive bird starts to beat his wings frantically. It was enough to lift him off the ground a few feet, and Helm hoped it would be enough to shake loose the Felinombra clinging to his neck.
Pardus was nearly thrown from Helmās back several times, his legs coming lose, and then one of his hands. He managed to keep his knife in his mouth and at least one hand attached to the feathers the whole time that the bird was writing. He could end this quickly, maybe not kill the beast, but at least incapacitate it for the next few days.Ā
Making sure he had a good grip with two of his feet and a hand, he pulled the knife out of his mouth and jabbed it into Helmās neck, feeling a satisfying thud as the tip of it hit bone. Then, all he did was hold onto the knife, and let the screaming and thrashing helmaroc toss him about, letting the weapon slide back and forth and cut through flesh. As soon as the bird quit flailing, heād pull the weapon out and leave, but until then, he was content to stay there and wait until either he or the bird exhausted himself. And then heād be on his merry way.
There were certain days that Twila wanted to strangle her mate for being reckless, foolish, and altogether frustrating.Ā
Today was one of those days.
