Look, I’m not a great writer nor am I the best critic…

But I hate it when a fandom calls a character manipulative to the protagonist when said character has been, 1. Pretty straightforward about their plans and goals, 2. Is confused on the same level as the protagonist and they both try to investigate and trust in each other. 3. Takes risks and sacrifices for the protagonist when they literally don’t have to 4. Actually has a point, and last but not least having the protagonist AGREE and FOLLOW knowing the risks.

Then this flawed character, gets to face consequences and tries to fix things with the protag but nooo it’s all evil and they’re ’s a monster who shouldn’t get near the protagonist ever again.
