Omgggg I never saw this but yes! I do live in Australia :)

My mum took me skating a lot as a kid (definitely not a common hobby in australia lol) and we’ve always been super obsessed with the Winter Olympics, I spent a long time wanting to be a figure skater 😭😭

I also wanted to do ice hockey as a kid, and had a very devastating experience where I thought I was signing up for ice hockey and then ended up on a field hockey team. Sigh.

Forgot about it all for a while, but last year I (embarrassingly) saw Willmack trending and checked it out, and got super invested in the sharks and celebrini’s rise to super stardom hahah!

Then got into Australia’s ice hockey league (the AIHL) and my beloved mustangs 🥰

I saw a post about Shane and Ilya being sad that they can't thank each other in their acceptance speeches like other can with their spouses and it got me thinking:

Ilya wins his first awards and hes got nobody he really wants to thank after his team and coach cause he he hates his family but he knows his speech is too short so on impulse he goes "And I want to thank Shane Hollander for being slightly worse than me this season". Everyone knows it was going to one of those two, so everyone thinks hes an asshole to say that but whats new so it works for him. But from then on it then becomes a bit for both of them to thank each other in their speeches in a snide way as a reason they won.

Shane winning the Art Ross Trophy (Awarded to the player who leads the league in total points at the end of the regular season). and going "special thanks to Rozanov for missing at least 5 shots this season, he was a huge help"

Ilya winning the Conn Smythe Trophy (Awarded to the most valuable player for his team in the playoffs.) "Just want to give a quick shout out to Hollander for getting knocked out in the second round this season. Must hate to see me up here."

Hmmm I think season 5 of bridgerton is going to seriously challenge some people in a good way (beyond being a queer story).

I saw a TikTok last night made by a woman who was sharing some memories of her late husband on his birthday, and right at the end she acknowledged that she has been lucky enough to find love again with her new partner. Her husband died six years ago, when she was thirty. The comments are filled with people telling her she betrayed her husband by falling in love again.

There’s this pervasive idea that the greatest act of love is living in your grief forever, and never letting yourself find happiness again. That you should piously suffer in sadness for the rest of your life, lest you should betray the memory of your late partner.

People who loved their deceased partner will never forget them, or stop carrying that love with them. It’s not romantic to never process your grief and learn to carry it with you.

Life after the death of your partner looks different for everyone, and may or may not involve falling in love again. But falling in love again isn’t betrayal, and a lot of complaints about Francesca’s story are revealing that people don’t understand that.

So yes, Francesca’s story being a lesbian love story is going to challenge a lot of people for the better, but I think this is too.

im obsessed w the fact that the prison scene, the airing out of all these secrets, still does not touch on niall's own assault at ruben's hands . its amazing . it's still something they can't talk about . they can air everything out and call each other brothers and still not this . i don't even think he knows WHY he tells ruben "no it's too much" when hearing about ruben's own sexual abuse, when he hears that it's the closest ruben's ever been with someone! to say it he would also need to acknowledge that he IS attracted to ruben and that their relationship which has had this sexual abuse in it the whole time is also the closest he's been with someone!
