Pairings: Reader x Dylan O’brien
Request: Hey can you do a Dylan imagine where Y/N has an unexpected pregnancy and decides not to tell him. She takes her time without telling him thinking he won't want the baby. There is an argument but at the end it's all fluffy! 💜
Warnings: sadness but with a fluffy ending. (also, this is a long ass imagine, enjoy!)
You still couldn’t believe it. Days passed, weeks even, and you still couldn’t wrap your head around the fact that you were pregnant. Pregnant with Dylan’s baby. Even though you and Dylan were in a long-term relationship, you were scared. He was a busy man, making long days and nights on set. There was no way a baby could be fit in his routine, there are only twenty-four hours a day. So.. you decided not to tell him. Yet. Obviously you were going to tell him, sometime soon. You were about 11 weeks pregnant, and you were beginning to show a little. You had to tell him soon. But right now was not the moment, as Dylan was wrapping up the third ‘Maze Runner’ movie: ‘The Death Cure’. He would be back in about two weeks. The last time you saw him, you didn’t even know you were pregnant. It was hard, keeping such a big secret from someone who you shared your life with. You and Dylan have been in a relationship for almost 4 years, and you had never ever kept a secret like this from him.
The days passed quickly, and Dylan was supposed to come home in three days. You were excited to see him again, but scared. Seeing as you were bored, you started searching some things on your laptop for the baby. ‘Tips and tricks for single moms’, ‘How to survive sleepless nights with a baby’, ‘How to manage a job and a baby as single mom’. Basically, you were only making yourself only more depressed, completely sure that Dylan was going to leave you the moment he found out about you being pregnant, which would be in three days. You had seventy-two hours left with Dylan.
A few hours later, you were still browsing the internet. Suddenly, someone rang the door bell. You weren’t expecting anyone, so decided to ignore the door, not in the mood for whoever was at the door. After a few seconds, someone rang the doorbell again. With a sigh, you stood up and walked towards the door. Pulling yourself together, you opened the door. “Dylan?” you said, shocked. “Hey baby, I came home early,” he greeted you, a huge smile plastered on his face. It felt as if someone slapped you across the face. “Are you gonna let me in or stare at me like you’ve just seen a ghost all day?” he said while laughing. “I-I just didn’t expect you to come home earlier, I’m so surprised!” You squealed, hoping to hide whatever form of fear crossed your face. He opened his arms and you walked in to them, taking in his scent, that you had missed oh so much. “I missed you..” you breathed into his neck. “I missed you too.” He said back.
You and Dylan were now both sat on the couch. It was the moment to tell him. You couldn’t hide it any longer. You were starting to show and the morning sickness got worse day by day. “So, Dyl.. I have something I, ehm, really have to tell you..” You began, looking down to your lap. “Sure, babe. You know you can tell me everything right? Let me just quickly grab a glass of water.” You nodded and watched him walk to the kitchen. As your eyes followed him, you noticed that you laptop was still on. Shit. You quickly walked there, hoping you would get to it before Dylan. You were too late, Dylan was already on his way back from the kitchen.
His eyes fell on the laptop screen. His eyes widened. “How to manage a baby as a single mom?” He read aloud. “Dyl..” You started. He just kept staring at the screen. “Y/N, what is this?” His voice was barely even a whisper. You felt the tears gather in your eyes. “I was going to tell you..” You said. “Really? Well it seems like you didn’t have to, it seems like you’ve already decided that I won’t be a part of this baby, our baby’s, life.” He said, his voice getting louder with every word he said to you. And you deserved it. “I didn’t want to burden you with it.. You’re already so busy with work, I didn’t want to add another weight to all the things you have to do. I just.. I just assumed you would leave..” You felt the tears streaming down your cheeks. “Stop, just stop Y/N.. You obviously assumed wrong! How can you even decide these kind of things?! It was MY choice to make, not yours! We’ve been in a relation for four years, and you think that this would push me away? You know that I’ve always wanted kids, and you decide to assume that I would leave the most precious thing behind.” He yells at you, and you can just hear the pain in his voice. “Don’t you see that I’m so head over heals with you, even after four years? I wouldn’t ever leave you, let alone this precious baby...” He whispered, slowly getting closer to you. “I-I’m so s-s-sorry, Dyl..” You were full on sobbing right now. “We’ll get through this, together, okay? Please remember that I’ll be here for you, no matter what. We’re going to give this baby the most amazing life ever. I want to be a part of this. I want us to be a family.” You were now standing eye to eye with Dylan, while he whispered everything you ever wanted to hear from the man you’ve loved for so long. You nodded, not being able to bring out any words. You were so grateful for him. “Our perfect little family.” You whispered back to him, placing a kiss on his lips.
