Notes: Wanted to get back into the swing of things, I don’t really know what I did here so don’t mind me...

“Issei?”
“Mm?”
“Do you think we’ll ever find a family together?”
For a moment it was silent, the elder boy took the chance to roll onto his side to face his twin with only the moonlight’s illumination from a break in the curtains allowing him to see. Ichiru’s voice was hushed and nothing like his usual exterior, from the small beam of light the moon provided, Issei could see that this was something his twin has been thinking on for a while now. He hummed.
“We already have a family here too” he eventually whispered back, his eyes glancing to the door at the end of the room. The rest of the orphans here were family to them, as were their carers. They had found love and happiness from people who would have possibly been strangers to them, if they hadn’t been living since they were tiny.
The somewhat worried expression continued to gnaw away at Ichiru’s face, so, Issei clasped their small hands together. "Don’t worry” he continued, voice quiet as usual but this time it was almost as if they feared getting caught. “I won’t let them separate us.”
~
“Issei. I know you’re sleeping but...I don’t trust these people.”
Ichiru spoke, low and somewhat muffled in the crook of his arm, his eyes remained locked on his sleeping twin’s figure as he crouched by the side of his bed. This time it was a lamp in the corner which lit up the room, dim enough for Issei to sleep through it and for Ichiru to see. This time Ichiru really did fear being caught.
“Why would he take us in, offer us food and stuff for free?” He continued, reaching his free hand forward to brush his counterpart’s fringe out of his closed eyes. It didn’t settle with him, this hospitality from a stranger. What could he possibly want? Did he target them because Issei is sick?
The thought frightened him. “I think we should leave before anything happens.”
He took Issei’s warm hand in his, gently squeezing it as he whispered;“I’ll protect you.”
~
“I know it was an act but...I really do hope we don’t lose our place to belong.”
Said the older twin ever so softly Ichiru could have missed it had he not been listening. He stopped his shuffling and glimpsed over his shoulder. The thought did come to mind that Issei’s acting seemed all too real.
They had finally settled in, got an understanding of Shu and Eichi, of what it is like to be in a unit or better yet an Idol. But that wasn’t to say they should forget where they came from. Issei clearly didn't.
“...They wouldn’t abandon us.” (Right?) Ichiru wanted to add. Slowly his hands clasped the sheets, clutching at the material as he thought deeply about what his twin had said.“They can’t”
Issei sat up, blue eyes now filled with worry towards the younger teen. (they won’t) He wanted to say, he desperately wanted to believe that statement.
“We’ll always have each other.”
At least that he could say for sure was the truth.
~
“Hey Issei”
“I never once dreamed we’d be famous singers performing in front of thousands of fans, when did this happen?”
“Maybe Quell is where we truly belong.” smiled Issei, eyes glimmering from thousands of blue, red and green lights filling the stadium.
“And maybe Shu and Eichi...are our family” Ichiru murmured, a light blush dusting over his cheeks.
“-Issei”
“-Ichiru”
“We made it”
They whispered in unison, hands grasped tightly together.
Of course you can, thank you for the request. I hope this is okay for you, I apologise for the super long wait!
(Also on Ao3 for you here)

For Rui music is what made the most sense to him, the way he understood things – people, concepts – was through music.
Iku was somewhat easy to read, his tone conveying a certain brightness and spirit. Iku had the power to keep a positive atmosphere around him and move forward. Iku was radiant, manly he was almost princely. Iku was a perfect song on a summer’s day.
Without music terminology, it would be hard to explain how Rui felt around the man – about the man. For when their hands brushed and touched then clasped together into a fitting hold, Rui felt a buzzing twang like a guitar string rippling through his body. His heart flourished.
When Iku spoke, Rui heard symphonies filling his eardrums and dancing with joy. Iku was entrancing, Iku was a song that he couldn’t get out of his head but Rui found he didn’t mind. It was a gentle hum in the back of his head that never drove him insane, it never teetered on the tip of his tongue teasing him.
Iku was the joy that spread through him when he finally mastered a song.
For a while, Rui was lost in thoughts, following aimlessly as Iku guided the way. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed since they left the dorms, nor was he sure the destination Iku had in mind. It took a few moments for the man to even register that Iku was speaking, to which he looked up with sheepish confusion.
“In your own world again, hmm?” Iku asked, a small chuckle shaking his body. Rui didn’t want to sound cheesy or cliché but, it was truly a great sound – one he wouldn’t mind playing on repeat.
“You should pay more attention to your surroundings” he continued, “Look around you” Iku added with a smile. But Rui found he couldn’t take his eyes off Iku, for he only ever sees Iku whenever he lifts his eyes. He could only ever see the notes and tunes that danced around him, exactly what he could imagine when he lost himself in music.
“Listen to the sounds” Rui could only hear the harmonies that pulsed through his heart at the sound of Iku’s voice. “You shou-” Iku barely had time to finish his sentence before Rui had cut him off.
“I love you”
Rui didn’t like the silence, but the way his face twisted with confusion and shock before heating up an adorable red told Rui it wasn’t a bad thing.
“I-I…I love you too, Rui” Iku stuttered, his free hand reaching up to rub the back of his head as his cheeks remained that shade of red. Rui loved it, he loved Iku. Iku who laughed sheepishly, and gently squeezed his hand.
It was random, he knew. He didn’t need Iku to say it aloud.
Music was his terminology and Iku was his favourite song on a rainy day.
Hello~ Can I request an Koi/Kakeru fanfic? Thank you~!
Hello, I am so so sorry for the really long wait ^^; I’ve explained why in a different post. I hope this is okay for you, I’m lacking creativity lately. Thank you for the request however, I hope you’ll eventually see this!
~
A deep exasperated sigh rang through the room as Kakeru turned to face the owner of the outstretched arm in front of him. The said owner smiled in false innocence, attempting to play off the act as a hug to which Kakeru did not return. Instead the look on his face remained one of annoyance, laced subtly with disappointment.
“Koi..” Kakeru sighed, deflatedly. “It’s hard enough trying to bake with my bad luck, having you clinging to me or trying to swipe some of the cookie mix makes this 10 times more difficult.” The smile slowly faded from Koi’s face, replaced by a faint hint of a pout on the man’s lips instead. He apologised quietly before adding an explanation of: “It’s finally our day off together though, and you’re spending it baking and pushing me away. Who are those for anyway?” Kakeru unwrapped the arms around him and turned to his mixture once more, “I wouldn’t push you away if you weren’t always trying to eat what I’m making before it’s ready. If you stayed in here quietly or actually tried to help it would be fine.” The shorter pointed out, letting his partner rest his chin on his shoulder. “And they’re for everyone, I wanted to try something new” Kakeru added, eventually shrugging off the pink haired man so he could move freely. “Then let me help Kakeruuuu” Koi whined, “I have better luck than you so nothing would go-” his sentence fell short at the sound of something tumbling to the ground. “Koi!” “I didn’t know it was there!” Koi retorted, seemingly honest. Kakeru simply shook his head, watching as the younger man scrambled to clean up the mess of flour he had created. “I’ll help properly now” Kakeru only took the bowl from him with one hand, using the other to guide Koi to sit down. “You’ll help by just sitting there” He replied, turning away sheepishly at the look of confusion on the younger’s face.
“I tripped and spilt stuff a few times whenever you weren’t in the room…” he murmured. Koi laughed but nodded nonetheless, he didn’t mind simply sitting and watching Kakeru. It was something he would never admit to doing before they were in a relationship, after all it wasn’t his fault that Kakeru was interesting and cute to watch. Not that he was complaining.
Time went by smoothly after that, Kakeru only managed a few more slip ups before being graciously aided by Koi who smiled somewhat smugly and teasingly. At some point, Koi had resulted to humming to keep himself entertained which then further escalated to into a full blown singing session between the two until finally the cookies were in the oven - and not on the floor like the first batch.
“Now do I get to spend time with you?” asked Koi after a few moments of silence.
Kakeru didn’t even spare a glance as he proceeded to begin the washing up, “You have been.” He could practically feel the pout on Koi’s lips at that response, he laughed.
“Kakeruuuu” Koi whined once more, making his way over to the shorter man for what felt like the hundredth time today. “You know what I meant” he pouted about to wrap his arms around Kakeru, only to be handed the empty mixing bowl with cookie mixture still around the sides.
“Once this is out of the way, then we can hang out” Kakeru smiled, blowing some of the bubbles that had formed into his boyfriend’s face. Koi blinked, then smiled in return taking a seat in the space he was previously sat in.
Several minutes later, Kakeru finally turned his attention to Koi who had near enough licked the bowl clean. The said man smiling apologetically when Kakeru stood in front of him peering into the bowl, “In my defence you never said you wanted any” claimed Koi.
Kakeru only shook his head yet again, smiling at the sight of his boyfriend. His boyfriend who had cookie mix all over his face somehow, it made him wonder if Koi had really been licking the bowl directly. Although it wouldn’t surprise him, Koi did still behave childishly occasionally.
“Did you put your face in it?” Kakeru asked jokingly, looking around for something to clean him up before deciding to use his hands. “Anyway, I’ll take it as a sign it tastes good”
With a nod, Koi stood up discarding of the bowl in the sink. “Okay let’s go now” he smiled taking Kakeru’s hand.
“I need to wash th-”
“Later” Koi interjected, leading the man out of the kitchen.
“But the cookies-”
“Will take a while anyway”
Kakeru simply breathed a laugh, allowing Koi to lead him away.
At what point would it be considered appropriate to tell Koi he actually made them for him?

It wasn’t that Gem didn’t like people, he simply didn’t know what to do around people. Awkward some would put it. His tendency to remain quiet unless there was a reason to speak often lead people to believe he was shy, something Gem found he couldn’t deny entirely.
A faint sigh escaped his lips as, somewhat, tired eyes lazily skimmed the notification on his laptop screen. ‘Battery low, please connect charger’ It was only natural it would begin to die by now, he only wished it picked a better time than in the middle of the episode. Still, it happened and needed to be sorted.
So, with another - more realistic - sigh, Gem lifted his head off his palm and looked around. All available power sockets were by the walls, and all tables or booths were taken.
He glanced back to his laptop, eyes conflicted. He couldn’t just leave the episode, he had been dying for weeks to finally watch it, yet at the same time he couldn’t go and bother a stranger either.
He skimmed the room once more, pausing when he found two eyes gazing right back at him.
He blinked, wanting to turn to turn away - it would be weird to hold some sort of staring competition with a complete stranger after all- but then they smiled,and Gem couldn’t help but smile back shyly. Would it be too awkward to ask them to move now?
He tapped his leg in thought, finally drawing his eyes away from the stranger and back to his laptop. 5%, he could either let it die and risk anything else he hadn’t saved on it or stand up now and make a fool of himself.
Gem chose the latter, taking a deep breath as he began to gather his belongings. Perhaps he should have waited until he was home to watch the episode but that would mean another few hours of waiting and possibly being dragged into whatever shenanigans his friends were up to. There were days where he wanted to enjoy time to himself, even if today it seemed to only last a few hours.
Practising the words in his head, Gem turned in the direction the stranger was in only to find their eyes still on him. He wanted to shrink under their gaze, it wasn’t intense as much no there was a different look within them that Gem found he couldn’t distinguish and yet still he felt embarrassed for some reason. The way he felt when people complimented him.
He weakly attempted to push it to the back of his mind, slowly making his way over to the stranger who had stopped twirling their empty plate around with their fork in favour of looking up at him with a warm smile.
“I-I’m sorry to bother you” Gem started, diffidently, eyes altering between the stranger and the power socket by their feet. “But my laptop power is running out and I still have things to do, could I please trouble you as to sit in your seat?”
In his nerves to ask such a question he forgot a key part of talking to new people. A greeting. He sucked the inside of his cheek in hopes they didn’t find him rude, it’s the last thing Gem would want people to view him as. Especially in the case of life or death - hey it may not be his life but his battery life is certainly clinging on a thin thread.
Their smile, fortunately, didn’t falter after the request and Gem was relieved to see them shuffle to the seat across allowing him access to the power socket. He wanted to sink in happiness, he could still watch the episode after all.
“Thank you so much, s-sorry again” said Gem quickly plugging in his charger, watching as the screen lit up once more.
“Of course” the stranger spoke, their voice low and somewhat drawn out. Gem looked up at them, realising it would most likely also be considered rude not to at least look at them as they spoke or spare them some minutes of his time.
“I couldn’t let that look of conflict stay contorted on your face”
He blushed at the indirect compliment, or maybe it was the fact that he found he enjoyed listening to them speak. Their words were strung out but not necessarily in the way that it would seem they had to really think about their words.
Gem simply nodded, not knowing what respond with. Instead, he let his eyes trail down the stranger slowly. Taking in each detail, every stray lock of hair that poked out their large braid falling over their shoulder, the casual clothing they were wearing, the colour of their eyes.
It was somewhat obvious that they both stood out amongst other customers in the store and yet no one spared them a glance or another. If anything, Gem found the most attention he was getting from anyone here was from the stranger in front of him. Their eyes seemed to copy him, a small smile still present on their lips as they lent forward on their elbows.
The episode was long forgotten by now.
“My name is Diala. What’s your name, doll?” they spoke after a few moments of mutual staring, Gem blinked a warm feeling blossoming over his cheeks. Doll? That’s a new one.
“Gem” he replied quietly before clearing his throat and speaking up, “My name is Gem, p-pleasure to meet you a-although I did bother you into switching seats-”
They - or rather Diala - chuckled, leaning back on his (Gem figured) seat. “Gem is the perfect name for you” At the confused expression on the other’s face, Diala continued. “Your parents must have named you Gem like the Gem you are~”
His cheeks flushed darker, was this flirting or genuine compliments? What was he supposed to say? Thank you?
He glanced back down at his laptop, perhaps this is part of the reason he’d identify as awkward.
“Would you like anything to eat or drink?” asked Diala after a short while of silence, Gem realised that he had simply been staring down at his laptop not doing anything. He contemplated patting his cheeks to see if his blush had died down but decided against it, slowly casting his gaze back to the man opposite him.
“No thank you” He smiled with a wave of his hand, he wasn’t one to let others buy him things and he wouldn’t start with a complete stranger.
The said ‘stranger’ tilting his head in a manner that seeked confirmation, “Sure? Water? Cake? Candy?” he offered before reaching into his pocket and taking out a handful of sweets and chocolate. Gem blinked surprised, subconsciously leaning forward to get a better look at the treats.
He must really like candy, was the only conclusion Gem could come to. Why else would someone carry so much of it?
A soft gasp filled the air not long after, “there’s peanut butter candy?!”
Diala chuckled at his reaction, the smile widening on his face ever so slightly as he watched excitement grow on the other’s face. “Of course there is” he answered, separating out the peanut butter treats from the rest of the candy. “I have all kinds of flavours”
Gem felt the heat return to his cheeks, (or did it simply get hotter?) once he realised his reaction. His eyes shot around the room quickly in a self-conscious check that he didn’t exclaim that so loud.
Part of him wanted to decline the offer of the candy, really, but a stronger part of him told him to accept it. Of course he went with the stronger side, sheepishly accepting the treats with an embarrassed ‘Thank you’.
“I can show you where to get them, if you would like. You like peanut butter I take it” Diala smiled, putting the rest back in his pocket.
Gem nodded, eyes still locked on the candy in hand rather than the man in front of him. He’s embarrassed himself enough today in the space of half an hour than in a whole week. “O-Oh that was a yes to peanut butter by the way! It’s weird I know…”
Diala shook his head, “It’s not weird if it’s something you like. The way your eyes lit up upon the sight of it was bright enough to make the sun in the sky jealous”
This time Gem did shrink a little into himself, shoulders hunching in the slightest as he attempted to hide his hot face. Whether Diala was flirting or not, compliments were hard to take or answer. He was thankful his jacket provided him a small hiding space.
“So, is that a yes to showing you the place as well?” Diala asked, a warm smile on his face as he took of the action. It took a few moments of contemplation before he received another nod in reply, he hummed before standing from his seat.
Gem waited until the man had walked off to relax his shoulders, looking down at the sweets. These were surely enough to last him until he found out where to buy them, at least if he didn’t eat them all at once. He smiled.
It wasn’t long before Diala returned with a takeaway cup in his hands, he reached into his pocket to check something before glancing back to Gem with a somewhat apologetic smile. “I’m afraid I have to go now- oh did I mention you have wonderful hair? May I feel it?”
Gem nodded slowly, the pink that dusted over his cheeks still clinging on. This wasn’t an unusual request, by now his soft hair has become a well known trait about him - thanks to his friends. Diala, at least, seemed very satisfied running his hands through his hair.
“Like a cloud, I would imagine or a little lamb~.” He smiled, “I should get going now, pleasure to meet you Gem”
‘What about showing me the place?’ the other thought to himself, masking it with a small smile. “You too, Thank you again for letting me sit here”
Diala nodded, “Fate will let us meet again, and I’ll show that place. I promise”
Whether Gem believed him or not, he nodded nonetheless. “Of course” he smiled, “I look forward to it”
As Diala walked away with one last wave, Gem looked down at his laptop screen the episode still paused.
Perhaps it wasn’t a bad thing his power was beginning to die.
Thank you very much! Hehe, your timing is always impeccable when it comes to the stories - stormy night on a day leading to stormy weather, and now the needed feels on one of those sorts of days! I enjoy amnesia stories because those really can be full of feels, but so glad things worked out! I’m guessing it was Shun who helped speed up the recovery process by magic? Personal favourite thing though is how the stories all tie together in the end, even the pre-relationship one. Thanks again!
I'm super glad to hear that hehe! I thought I made you wait too long I'm glad it wasn't that bad, I hope it helped you. Yes of course it was Shun who helped speed the recovery~
I'm happy that you noticed the other stories linking together! It was no problem at all, thank you for the request ♡
Hello again! I can’t stop reading the other Aoi and Rui fics you wrote, seriously love them! May I please request another romantic one of the pair that is angst with fluff but with a happy ending? (Not because I like my boys suffering but the feels usually help me through rough days because they help me feel, if that makes sense.) Thank you.
Hi Hi again! wow I’m so glad you love them ^o^ You may of course, although I may have went a little overboard with angst…Still got a happy ending though! I’m not quite sure about the fluff. (I totally understand don’t worry) Thank you for another request, again I did a different writing style so I hope you don’t mind I attempted it from Rui’s POV.
Apologies if anything seems ooc, and for the wait ^^;

Cloudless but cool, sunny but breezy. That’s how I imagine I would describe the weather that day if I had to briefly. We had to wear something warm despite the sun glowing in the sky. I remember because I would have forgotten.
It was one of our rare free days, it wasn’t that we didn’t get breaks; more so the fact we didn’t often get the same day off. It was a cherished luxury of sorts, one we basked in when we got the chance.
We were fortunate enough that our fans would have been at work or school, it meant we didn’t have to worry so much as to disguise ourselves due to our growing popularity. We didn’t hold hands though, nor did we call this a date. We had to be cautious, anything could get out to the world with one wrong move. Instead, we walked side by side enjoying the small brushes of our hands and hating the fact we couldn’t entwine them. Aoi often asked if I wanted to stop, take a break, despite our slow pace. He worried too much, I told him I wasn’t weak. That I wasn’t as fragile as people let on. He slowly stopped asking, he must have got the message I would tell him if need be. At some point, at a particularly cold breeze, Aoi offered me his jacket. For once he had dressed suitably for the weather, and I hadn’t. I declined, he needed warmth too. I could see the worry in his eyes that I’d get too cold. Aoi definitely worried about me too much, I suppose I’ll let him off now more than ever. After all I had been careless. After all I probably would have forgotten this day for the rest of my life.Our day was going well, I remember how content I was to simply spend time with Aoi. The food we ate was delicious, and though the sights were the same as always it was pleasant to see. I understand now why I had such a dreaded feeling later on; why some sort of anxiety built up inside me as we made our way to the crossing. There was a familiar beam, not that I can remember why it was familiar, it shone in the direction cars would have been coming as if to lead me to it. No I’m sure now it was to warn me. That’s why I saw the beam before I heard the screams. Down the street, not too far away from us. Some sort of commotion, there wasn’t much time for us to wonder what was going on. We would soon have to cross. I remember seeing the look of fear and confusion on Aoi’s face in the corner of my eye, I wanted to reach for his hand. As if to comfort both of us. There was a car, swerving from the same direction the beam had shone in. It was out of control. Aoi and I had already started crossing the road when we saw it. There was no time to run back, we- Aoi was too shocked to run forward. I…I acted impulsively.It wasn’t the car that hit me, or at least that’s what Aoi claimed. And I trust Aoi. It was the edge of large metal circuit box, or maybe it was something else. I didn’t get to see, I didn’t notice the curb by my feet that made me trip. I don’t know much about what happened after I saw the car. A large chunk of my memory had left me in the instant my world went black. ~ Aside from the prominent ache in my head, I didn’t feel any different when I came to. There was a drowsiness that lingered with me, as would it anyone after waking up after what felt like a years nap. I didn’t recognise the room I was in, the haze in my eyes made it difficult to see my surroundings. I heard the door open before I saw who entered. I don’t remember what he asked me, or who they were. He talked to me for a short while, making notes on some clipboard. I know I felt panicked, scared. I couldn’t- I can’t remember what happened prior to this accident. What did I do? Where did I live? Who was I now? My parents weren’t the one to walk through the doors next, but a group of six. One ran forward to me, ready to burst into tears as they grabbed my hand. “I’m so glad you’re okay, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry” they cried. At the time I couldn’t make sense of why they were sorry, who they were, or how they knew me. The words tumbled from my mouth before I could give them a second thought, they froze. I didn’t move my hands from theirs, for some reason I felt safe in their warmth. I couldn’t draw my eyes away from their shocked face, contoured in pain - confusion and fear. It seemed familiar, my body felt as if I had seen this very expression before. “Rui…you don’t recognise him?” I knew that voice, I knew those faces. Kai. My friends…I didn’t know where from but I knew we shared some form of connection. I’ll never forget the broken look on Aoi’s face that day, I’ll never forget the tears that rolled down his face as he excused himself from the room. It hurt my heart, and I vowed never to be the cause of his sadness again. Aoi wasn’t the only one, Iku, Six Gravity…I didn’t remember my career, my best friend. I’ll always remember those three words, however. Post traumatic amnesia. ~~It was an awful feeling to know that there were people, who meant so much to you, bearing the pain of knowing you don’t remember them in fear it would affect you. It was an awful feeling to know you built memories with these people, that you once knew everything about and now you know nothing at all.
Post Traumatic Amnesia isn’t permanent, the doctor told me. It could last days, weeks, or months. It was vague, I wasn’t listening properly but I was relieved there was a possibility that I wouldn’t forget about them for the rest of my life.
If I had known I would have risked my memories in an attempt to save Aoi, would I do it again? Yes, I would because losing my memories is so much better than losing Aoi himself or my life. Losing my memories was one thing, one thing I most likely couldn’t get back but I could make new ones. I could fall in love with Aoi all over again.
I could, but it would only hurt him more.
I watched videos of us on stage, I watched videos filmed by the others, I looked at posters, listened to our CD’s, accompanied everyone to jobs.
I remembered Iku, not long after, I only remembered half of Six Gravity but knew the words to their songs. My head ached, my heart hurt. I could see the relief in their faces, the joy, however there was an underlying sadness beneath that all. They’d look down, away or spare a glance in Aoi’s direction. I still hadn’t remembered him, one of the most important people in my life. It was eating him inside.
I began to spend more time with Aoi after that, I asked him to take me around places where we would have went together, and if he could simply stay with me. His presence was comforting, listening to him talk was relaxing. His worrying felt so natural, but there was a longing sadness still in his eyes whenever he had to leave.
I did research of my own, looking through my phone. Messages we shared, pictures we had taken. Out of context some of the messages made no sense to me; ‘Your room or mine?’ I pondered on that one often. It was sent a few times between us, either Aoi or I. I felt it was too soon to ask.
I stumbled across a song I wrote and composed, the meaning I could tell was deep, it resonated within me. I believe it was addressed to Aoi, I couldn’t help but play it.
By the end I only caught glimpse of the door closing, I knew it was Aoi that had left.
~
I don’t know why I was awake at 2.15 am, I don’t know what compelled me to walk over to the window as I passed by either. The stars were beautiful up in the sky and beneath them was someone who possessed more beauty than I could imagine, I’ve never told him this.
I made my way outside without much thought, a mug of tea in my hands as I stepped outside into the coolness of the open world.
“Rui”
Aoi uttered, eyes somewhat wide as he looked up at me. I offered him a smile as I held out the drink, he took it was a quiet thank you. I sat beside him.
“Aoi needs to dress better for sitting outside” I had said after a few moments had passed, he looked over at me a breath of a laugh escaping his lips. It was a pleasant sound just as the tiny smile on his face sent a pleasant warmth through me.
“I forgot…” He whispered, raising the mug. “Went back to old habits” he continued, his blue eyes staring into the water. The sky reflected in it. I got the feeling I’ve told him this before.
I rested my head on his shoulder, the action almost felt natural. I murmured in reply: “If you want…I’ll keep you company”
My heart danced at the slightly more genuine smile Aoi showed, a faint nod followed. “I can’t decline this time”
I know now this wasn’t the first time I caught him outside.
~
I was asleep when I heard voices outside my door, or maybe they were inside my room. I wasn’t sure. It was one of those states were you were asleep, but awake, you had a small sense of your surroundings but were reluctant to allow your body to awaken properly.
I didn’t catch what they were saying, I didn’t quite hear the door open either. If I’m truthful I’m not sure this actually happened.
Did I feel a presence in my room? Did I really hear a whisper? Or feel a brush to my forehead?
How could I be sure? After all I was asleep, and amnesia does things to you.
Who could really be sure of what I heard?
“Please forgive me for this our dear Rui, it’s only to speed up the process”
~~
The rush of memories came all at once, in a dream that night. I remembered all the mornings I had spent outside with Aoi keeping him company in the early hours of the day, I remembered the night he returned late from a job in a storm and how I wrote him that song. I remember how we came to be in this relationship, all the walks we did.
I remember it now, stronger than ever. The messages suddenly made sense, the ‘I can’t decline this time’ became clear.
The remaining half of Six Gravity resettled into my brain as if nothing had happened, the rush was overwhelming. My mix of emotions threatened to send me into some overdrive of some sort.
My headached but yet I picked up my phone, ignoring anything else.
‘Your room or mine?’
It took a few minutes for a reply but the message was read as soon as I sent it.
‘Mine’
I wasted no time in throwing my duvet off of me, my feet sliding into my slippers before I made my way to his room in a rush. Yamato meowed behind me in sleepy confusion.
I didn’t knock when I got to his door, instead I slowly pushed it open peering my head inside.
There Aoi was sat, eyes wide and face contoured in the same mixed emotions I felt.
“You…You remember?” he asked, his voice just above a whisper. I was surprised I heard it.
I stepped forward, then more confidently, until I was partially running over to him tackling him into a hug.
He gasped, not because of the impact I’m sure, and wrapped his arms around me in return. We tumbled back onto his bed but we couldn’t care less. I remember he held me closely - tightly, he was blabbering something but I couldn’t quite make out full words.
I remember the tears of relief, happiness, and guilt that ran down my face.
I remember that I stayed glued to his side for the remainder of the day.
I remember because I would have never gotten to see him smile so bright, if the amnesia had stayed with me.
You are just as awesome as ever<3 I loved the fic you wrote for the YoruxArata pairing and I'm interested in a YohxArata one now. It would be such a bold pairing haha. Would you do one if you have time?
Thank you so much Hana, you’re an angel <3 I really appreciate this, I didn’t write it all for nothing. I’m glad you enjoyed the other one, I hope this is okay too.
Unedited/checked sorry I’ll do it at a later time

It was embarrassing to say in the very least, that people can get distracted so easily. A fault of some sort. Arata for one didn’t get distracted very easily. It was unfair. He wanted to storm right up to Yoū’s parents and ask who gave them the right to make their son so damned hot, yet at the same time he wanted to thank them for what could only be described as a blessing. This joint photoshoot was a faulty, unfair, scheme to make Arata embarrass himself. It was the only ‘logical’ (except not so logical) explanation he could come up with. It was a few moments too late that Arata came back to his senses, Aoi had been calling his name in a mild panic tapping his arm. “A-Arata!” He had said, eyes locked on the glass in the man’s hand. “Arata you’re going to miss-” Arata only blinked when he felt a coldness run down him, Aoi had quietly murmured the rest of his sentence with a look that could only be described as ^^;. The April representative looked down at the outfit he had been made to wear, staff rushed over taking the glass from him as their friends looked at him in both semi amusement and worry. He wondered if he did a good job of hiding the fact it was Yoū he was staring at, curse him for distracting him. Curse his good looks, but did Arata really want to curse him? Yoū smirked, whether it be to himself or to Arata. He must be aware of how good he looked in that recent photo pose. Arata didn’t blush, he didn’t lift his expression either. He simply followed the staff to get a change of clothes, keeping his embarrassment to himself. He should’ve probably thought about what to tell the others after. ~~ How did they end up in such a position? No, when did they even fall asleep? Arata stared at the screen in partial confusion, beside him Yoū’s cheeks were growing redder by the second. If Arata wasn’t so concentrated on the screen in front of him he probably would have made a comment about both the blush and his hair. His dull eyes followed every movement they made in the video, his ears took in every murmur or sound. For one they probably could have chosen a better place to sleep, instead of the couch that somehow fit both of them.Secondly, why was he the one being cuddled? His head resting on Yoū’s arm, forehead close enough to the man’s lips that he could have probably felt his warm breath against him. Their legs were tangled somewhat awkwardly, it must have been comfortable at that moment. Yoū had one arm wrapped around him, his hair let down and falling over his face. Arata couldn’t deny how cute he looked. He guesses the embarrassing part of this, for Yoū at least, was the fact that the said man was sleep talking. Murmuring soft things into his hair, there was a giggle and laugh in the background- Arata assumes it’s the pink haired brat (he calls his fellow member and supposed friend: Koi) who was recording this. From what Arata gathered, Yoū was murmuring his name and a few other incomprehensible sentences. He wanted to glance at the man, he could already sense he was embarrassed - from the prominent blush on his face and the way he grabbed the phone from the younger man. If he himself had any reason to be embarrassed, it would be because of the fact he got caught. He didn’t mind the cuddling in the slightest. In fact it might just be the greatest nap he had in a while. ~~ It was an accident. Is what Arata would claim, he didn’t know Yoū would be so surprised by his presence. He only wanted to come and see how their interview went, he managed to quietly make his way behind the scenes standing with the camera men. The interviewer asked Yoū a question before Arata had arrived, he was half way through answering when Yoū noticed him. His eyes widening slightly as his words died out and his eyes met Arata’s. Arata didn’t smile, not just yet, he waited to see if Yoū could compose himself. The interviewer prompted him by calling his name, breaking their shared moment of eye contact. You blushed ever so slightly, turning his attention back to the poor lady. It was then that Arata snickered to himself, a faint smirk of his own tugging at his lips as Yoū stumbled over words trying to remember what he was saying. Perhaps this could be considered payback, for causing him to ruin an outfit that wasn’t his and embarrass himself. He wouldn’t hear the end of it once Yoū was done. ~~ “Why do i have to do this?” Arata asked, staring at the objects Yoū held out to him requesting he put on. “For embarrassing me at that interview” replied the August representative, somewhat of a smug look on his face as he looked down at him. Arata wanted to roll his eyes, “you embarrassed me too, it’s even” he stated, reminding the man he didn’t do anything more than Yoū had done himself. “Come on don’t be a spoil sport, Uduki” Uduki huh? Arata thought to himself, eyes glancing back down at the objects. “It would be unfair” Yoū was the one to roll his eyes, reaching forward to place the headband on his head. “I’ll ditch the tail then” Arata sighed at this, “Pervert why have you got cat ears?” “Ehh? I’m no pervert, if anything you’re the pervert!” Yoū retorted, before leaning back in his seat. Arata didn’t comment about the fact he ignored the question. “Now do something cute” Yoū smirked once more, “Though I suppose that’s a lot to ask from you, you’re so not cute” The dark haired idol sat forward on his knees, cute…sure what he was asking was hard indeed but he still wanted to prove him wrong. He lifted his hands into a paw like action, what is it those Neko girls supposedly do? “Nyaa~?” Yoū couldn’t help but laugh at that, Arata’s tilt of the head only made him lose himself more. “…Meow?” Yoū laughed, his head tilted back as he wiped the none existent tears from the corner of his eyes. “Oh my, I love you” he laughed. Arata froze, his hands remaining in the same position and his head still cocked. “What?” Yoū slowly came to a realisation of what he said, his cheeks growing flushed and his laughter dying out. “A-Ah…” He realised he had nothing to say, no way to explain or avoid the subject. He couldn’t find it in him to come up with an excuse. Arata leant up on his knees more, a little closer to the redhead. “Did you mean that in the way I thought you did?”Yoū looked away in embarrassment his hand rubbing the back of his neck. “Probably” he uttered.“Yoū” Arata spoke after a short while of silence, the man slowly turned his gaze to him. “I…love you too…N-Nyaa”He takes his words back, Arata was incredibly cute in his own way.
hello (again)!! Hope you have a good day~ I'm the person who requested middle group fic ehe, can I request a Yoru/Arata fics this time? maybe like awkward moments between these two, thankyou!💜💜
Hello again! Thank you so much and thank you for the previous request! You may of course but I sincerely apologise ^^; I somehow read your request wrong and did the wrong ship with embarrassing moments, so I had to start all over. I did it as soon as I realised so i wasn’t entirely in the bests of moods, please forgive me for anything ooc and in general! ^^; Also I apologise for the time it took! Thank you for your patience.
I feel bad so I might do this request again for you sometime
~
There was no doubt Yoru had fallen for the black haired, dull faced (except really not dull but really quite handsome faced) idol known as Uduki Arata from Six Gravity. When? He’s not sure. Why? That he’s unsure of also. What would he do about this? The only thing he can do; avoid the man at all costs.
Easy right? They’re in different groups after all so they’d hardly have to see each other, you would think. Who would have known the amount of joint jobs they would do would increase.
~
Yoru would almost classify himself as an awkward person, perhaps it was his shyness that lead him to believe so. Nevertheless, he worried how he would seem now that he figured out his supposed crush on Arata. He was awkward before, what would he be now?
They don’t get to interact often, occasionally they’ll work jobs together but there was always someone else with them. Either You, Aoi or both of them. It certainly put Yoru at ease knowing he wouldn’t have to wrack his brain for subject starters, he feared conversation would grow dead very quickly or Arata wouldn’t be at all interested.
With Aoi, it was easy to get along with him. With their hobbies, personalities and likes being similar they pretty much clicked. What did he have in common with Arata? What would give him a reason to speak to him or even just be in his presence?
Was it really the case that he needed someone to initiate things before he could continue it?
He gasped as he collided with something, eyes widening in surprise as he felt his body falling backwards. Yoru barely had time to register what had happened, his brain forced to catch up to his surroundings and snap out of thought.
His eyes closed as he braced himself for the impact of the floor, opening again when he found that it never came. Confused, his hands felt around only meeting the air around him, a face soon came into his line of sight.
Once more he gasped, heat instantly rising to his cheeks, he flailed around upon realising what had happened - apologises flying out of his mouth at such a speed it didn’t even sound like words.
“Woah, woah calm down or i’ll end up dropping you” said his ‘saviour’ tightening his grip around his waist, Yoru only blushed more covering his face.
He ran into Arata, of all people, and oh no did he look good from that angle. Wasn’t he heavy? What was this position? Yoru is sure he’d faint if he didn’t get away from the man right now.
“You okay?” Arata eventually asked, Yoru now a good distance away as he tried to calm his racing heart. This isn’t him, this crush has turned him into a mess.
“I-I’m fine, thank you for catching me. Sorry to walk into you, good luck today!” Yoru stuttered out, forcing a bright smile on his face before taking off in the direction he was primarily walking in. ‘Haaa’ He breathed, ‘I’ve probably made him worry, that or I’ve made things awkward’
So much for avoiding him like the plague.
~~
Yoru has said it before but he’ll say it again, this avoidance plan really seems to be going down hill. Granted he can’t help the times where they have to work jobs together, today being one of those times.
Elevators were never pleasant, Yoru found. They get dirty very quickly, then hardly get cleaned, they’re used so often they rust or slowly start to break down - resulting in someone getting stuck in it for god knows how long, and of course they get full.
13 passengers it claimed to be able to hold, luckily there were 12 of them. Yoru probably should have rethought his decision to be one of the firsts to get in, it left him to be pressed right up against the back. It’s not as though he was claustrophobic, it was who he was at the back with.
Bodies jerked as the elevator began to rise up the floors, most were able to keep their balance, Yoru only jerked slightly his hand brushing against Arata - who of course decided to stand next to him.
He blushed at the static shock he received, peering up in the corner of his eye to see if Arata had gotten the same. Arata’s lips traced a smile, allowing his hand to brush against Yoru’s once more. Instead of a static shock, Yoru felt warmth spread through his body he retracted his hand. Turning away to hide his darkening blush, Arata seemed as if he wanted to hold his hand - that however was impossible.
Yoru didn’t want to increase the awkward tension he had built up between them.
He missed the knowing looks from their friends.
~~~
Late.
They were late, of all people to arrive on time it was the last person he wanted to be left alone with. Yoru shifted his weight, awkwardly placing his phone back in his pocket after sending both You and Aoi messages asking where they were.
They didn’t have long before the movie would start, if they wanted food then they’d have to get here now. Yoru hoped they’d get here now, no he prayed they’d get here now. He wanted more than anything for those two to walk through those doors and save him from this silence between them.
Of course it never happened, there was only so long they could stand in silence with a greeting being the only thing they’ve said to each other. If they were going to hang out, words had to be said and right now Yoru dreaded to think what embarrassing things would tumble out his mouth in an attempt to start a conversation.
“We should get food and go in” said Arata a few moments later, his hands in his pockets and body leaning against a nearby wall.
Yoru couldn’t help but scan him up and down, he had surprisingly good taste in clothes. Of course anything would most likely look good on Arata.
He looked away and nodded, he was hinting that they’d meet them in the screen room if they were to turn up. Yoru really prayed they’d turn up.
Arata lead the way to the till, not wasting any time in ordering what he wanted. Yoru patiently waited his turn, surprised when Arata had turned to him asking what he wanted.
“I can’t let you pay for me” Yoru denied, “It’s fine, I’ll just wait for you to finish.” He offered a smile but was only met with Arata’s usual expression.
Yoru ended up telling him his order.
~~
A romance thriller.
That was the genre of their movie, it was also how Yoru was reminded about how bad with anything scary Arata was.
They probably should have chose a different movie, Yoru thought to himself. It had become quite apparent that You and Aoi weren’t going to be joining them. Even so, he wondered why Arata still agreed to watching this. Thriller was still a category under Horror after all.
They sat together, popcorn in front of them and drinks in the armrests.
For the most part, the film was good. Not so much thriller just yet but a good amount of tension building up, not only in the movie but in Arata as well it seemed.
Yoru wanted to ask if he was okay, or at least something along those lines. How does one comfort someone feeling scared? No, how does one reassure someone you think are scared.
He was brought out of thoughts by a loud scream from the screen, his attention immediately flying to what had happened before the man beside him.
There was a moment of silence as Yoru took in the sight of Arata; popcorn splayed across him and a look of what could only be described as sheer fear on his face.
He didn’t jump, nor did he make a sound. Really in the light of the screen he looked…pale.
“Arata?” Yoru whispered, slightly concerned. He didn’t react, only striking more concern in the shorter man.
He shook him lightly, “A-Arata are you alright?
Yoru bit back a sound of relief at the short nod he received in reply. It was clear that, Arata maybe wasn’t alright. A strange sight to see and yet Yoru felt maybe he could take this chance to help him.
Be rid of his awkwardness, the tension he formed between them and start a new. At least he’d have some sort of conversation starter.
He slowly and shyly took Arata’s hand, causing the man to look over at him. Yoru blushed.
“I’ll um…protect you” he murmured sheepishly, a tiny laugh following. He hoped the playfulness he was going for was shown in his tone.
Arata laughed, ever so quietly, a breath of a laugh. He actually seemed the faintest bit embarrassed, Yoru wanted to see more sides to him. Understand him better.
Then he smiled, Arata smiled.
And Yoru knew it was over for him, his heart dancing wildly as a blush painted his cheeks.
Maybe there would still be a few awkward embarrassing moments between the two, or Yoru.
He had fallen helplessly for Arata and had no idea what to do.
It was a gentle touch to his cheek that first stirred Iku out of his slumber, his eyes remained closed and breathing levelled. The softness brushed across his cheek, Iku almost leaned into it like a cat finally getting it’s attention. It was warm. The poke that followed after that roused Iku from his slumber more, his body slowly waking up though his eyes still remained shut. Three more pokes. Iku opened his eyes reluctantly, blinking once then twice. He let out a tired sound, as he stirred. “Happy Birthday Ikkun” came a soft voice, quiet as if they respected the fact he only just woke up. Iku recognised the voice immediately, his brain not registering the words but his arms wrapping around the man. “Rui” he murmured, tugging him down lightly into a hug. He used one hand to rub his tired eyes, slowly letting his brain catch up. “Thank you” He smiled. It’s my birthday, Iku thought to himself. It’s my birthday and….Rui’s awake? Both confused and surprised, Iku peered over at the time disbelief painting his face. “Rui, you’re awake so early? How?!” The shorter man quietly giggled, sitting up once more. “I wanted to be the first person Ikkun saw on his birthday” Rui admitted, Iku swore his heart warmed. “Rui” he whispered, a wide smile on his face. “ It’s a pleasant surprise, though you’ll be quite tired…” Rui waved him off with a small smile as he stood beside his bed, “It’s worth it for Ikkun” Iku decided, Rui was much too good for him. ~~~ “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” Iku partially froze in shock, his brain taking a few moments to catch up and process what had happened. He blinked then blinked again, a breath of a chuckle escaping him. He should have expected it, or so he would like to believe. Yet it was hard to at this time in the morning; when usually his friends would be asleep or just waking up. Perhaps that’s why it shocked him; not only was Rui awake, Shun and You were also awake. Not a familiar sight, unless it was for a job. He smiled, widely.
“Thank you so much everyone” He said, accepting the hugs and hair ruffles he received from his friends.
“Our Ikkun is growing up” said Yoru, somewhat dramatically, his arm thrown over Iku’s shoulder causing his body to drop down slightly. He laughed.
“You’ve said that every year, You. It’ll lose it’s meaning” Iku replied, standing up straight once You had given his hair one last ruffle in a headlock.
The others laughed too, this was nothing unusual for the members of Procellarum. Iku did, however, ponder the fact that ideas may have run dry for celebrating birthdays by now. He and Shun are at the end of the year, by now any surprise plans or gifts must have been done – right?
Iku didn’t mind though, just spending it with people he sees as a second family is enough for him. The fact they woke up before him just to wish him a happy birthday makes it even better, Rui too. He didn’t care much for gifts or special treatment, he loved things just the way they were.
“Alright, we have that group interview that we need to get to now then our scheduled separate or joined jobs after. Everyone ready to go?” Kai announced, eyes scanning the group for confirmation.
With nods of the head and sounds of approval, the group gathered their things and headed towards the door. All the while, Rui kept a soft grip on Iku’s hand, the taller man unable to help the smile on his face as they walked.
This was just fine.
~~~
‘It’s been so long since I’ve been on a run’ Iku thought himself, raising his bottle to his lips to take a few quick sips. He panted slightly, continuing his small walk back to the dorms slowly in an attempt to cool his body down and rest.
He was the first to finish the jobs they had scheduled today, staff and people around him all wishing him a Happy Birthday. He found it gets a little monotonous after hearing it all day, it was slowly getting harder to smile, laugh and thank people.
To have time to himself was nice, although part of him longed for the company of a certain petite idol. Rui would never come on a run with him, Iku knew this, and yet still he wondered what it would be like to have the man with him. Even just to cheer him on or time him.
He glanced down at his phone, a small smile tugging at his lips. He didn’t have any notifications, or at least that wasn’t the reason why he was smiling. It was the photo he had set as his lock screen, it came as a surprise to him when he woke up.
Rui had snapped a picture of them both along with Yamato, the cat laying above his head whilst Rui had his fingers in a peace sign. Of course, Iku was asleep at this time, Rui had added a message of happy birthday to the image. Iku doesn’t know what time he had taken it or when he got into his phone to set it as his lock screen, but he did know that he was falling for the man all over again.
Perhaps the reason why he never wanted any gifts, was because Rui was the greatest gift he could ever ask for.
He nodded.
~~~
Iku wasn’t expecting anything when he returned to the dorms, in all truthfulness he thought that the others might still be working. So when he walked through the doors to find the room neatly decorated and food circling a cake in the middle of the table, he was genuinely shocked. He took a moment to take it all in, the birthday banners, the food. It wasn’t long before his eyes fell upon the person he had longed to see all day, standing in the middle of the room a small smile present on his face.
Iku was speechless.
“Rui” he uttered softly, finally willing his mouth to speak. He stepped forward, “Did you do all this?”
A giggle made his heart do flips, a shake of the head almost left him feeling disappointed until 4 others appeared from their hiding space - soft and wide smiles on their faces as they joined Rui in the middle of the room.
“You didn’t think we wouldn’t do anything for your birthday, did you~?” asked Shun, his voice playful but suiting to the atmosphere.
Iku laughed breathily, he felt warm – happy. “Of course, not”
“We’ll leave you two alone for a bit” said Kai, gently ushering the three out of the room before sending the pair a smile.
~~
Rui didn’t say anything as he placed a wrapped present in Iku’s hands, a somewhat shy and nervous expression on his face. Part of Iku was relieved he didn’t have to hear the words Happy Birthday any more than he should.
He didn’t waste any time in unwrapping the gift, brown eyes inspecting the case in his hands. A CD. Addressed to…him?
“I made a song for you…I hoped it would tell you everything I feel and have felt in the months I’ve been with you” Rui explained, his voice quiet and cheeks ever so slightly red. If Iku thought he was falling in love with him again before, he must at the highest peak of love.
“I’ll listen to it now!” He said, lifting his eyes off of the CD to look at his boyfriend. “Thank you”
Rui peered away, his blush darkening, his hand shot out to stop the man before he could walk over and insert it into a CD player. Iku glanced over confused, “Rui?”
“Just in case you don’t like it…Ikkun I” Rui wrapped his arms around himself, and then he spoke. Ever so quietly, Iku almost missed it completely. “I love you”
Iku doesn’t really know what came over him at that point; why he teared up.
He threw his arms around the shorter male, holding him close as he replayed the words in his head.
It wasn’t said between them before, they knew how the other felt and showed their love in their actions and other words. To hear it said directly held so much more meaning.
“I-Ikkun?”
“I love you too” said Iku, cutting off Rui’s surprise and concern. “I love you too”
There was no doubt about it. The reason why Iku didn’t want any presents, is because he already had his spot in Rui’s heart.
This is the greatest thing I've ever read and requested with my own life, I love you and thank you for writing them :') I wanna know what OC Kai has done to my bby :') SO, CARRYING ON, I AM NOW A SOLID FAN, HOOKED ON THIS NEW SERIES, CAN I REQUEST A PART 3? Hikari couldn’t deny that in the past few weeks his mind has been on a certain blonde man he would have previously called a stranger. Much to his displeasure.
Returning to their shared home had been awkward, excruciatingly so. He had wanted nothing more than to pack his bags and head back out but, a large part of him screamed he would have nowhere to go, he had bothered Kakeru enough already and he couldn’t accept any more help from strangers.
So, he was forced to remain with the people he’d supposedly affiliate to as friends. Eru clinging to him nonstop as if he feared Hikari would slip through his fingers and disappear, all the while he would speak of anything and everything almost as if nothing had happened. Hikari could sense that the man was simply avoiding the subject in his own little way, or he was genuinely interested in Kakeru. Whatever it was, Hikari didn’t question or thank the boy. His face remaining in a semi permanent frown whenever he sat with the trio, morphing into a deadly glare whenever he opened his mouth or even glanced at him.
Yes, the tension was there and still clear. Hikari doubted it would ever fade away, well it’s not like he minded staying locked away in his room. It was greatly preferred.
The times he did go out, however, Hikari noticed things he never did before. Such as the fact there were great big billboards with ‘Six Gravity’ splayed across them, or the fact that Animate had posters of Kakeru and his friends littered around their stores. Kakeru was an Idol, a well known at that, and somehow he missed all the signs. Somehow, he stayed the night in their dorms and had Kakeru buy him Ice cream.
It explains the man’s pathetic attempt of a disguise and how secretive he had been in getting them in and out of the building. Hikari wanted to slap himself, how could he have been so oblivious?
Kakeru may have said he’ll ‘always be there for him’ but could that truly still apply? He’s got a career to focus on, fans, shows to do. He’s a busy man, Hikari couldn’t intrude anymore. Yet he still longed to see the man, to hear his weak attempts of small talk and feel the comfort of his presence. Hikari hated to admit it, he wished he would never have to admit it, but he liked Kakeru. Some part of him was intrigued, won over.
He was confused, scared, yet that was something he truly would never admit. It was something he thought of late at night, curled into himself as he stared at nothing. He hated it, these foreign feelings.
Still, he looked more into Six Gravity. Picking up one of their CD’s, watching anything they appeared in. It seemed Kakeru was as genuine as he seemed when they met, his songs were good too - really reflected him as a person, Hikari thought from what he had seen. It wasn’t hard to grasp the kind of person Kakeru was but it was gradually getting harder to deny what these feelings were.
He frowned.
~
Hikari never thought it would come to this. A meet and greet. He wasn’t one of their pesky fans always screaming and crying about Kakeru and the rest of them. Nor did he want to be here, or so he tried to convince himself.
Still, he found himself in line with Eru excitedly bouncing beside him. A scowl was situated on his face as usual, arms crossed as he tried to ignore any looks that came in his direction. Thankfully, most were directed to the tents the idols were under.
“I’m going to go meet Koikku! Meet you out here?” said Eru, the excitement barely managing to be contained on his face. Hikari huffed quietly, a short nod of his head was Eru’s only acknowledgement of the statement before the man ran off to the opposite queue. Hikari sighed, stepping forward. Was he really ready to see Kakeru again? After so long? Would Kakeru even remember him?
He was brought out of his thoughts at the sound of someone announcing ‘next’, he scurried forward as to not waste time - heart beating the slightest bit faster.
“Hello!”
He froze at the voice, his heart doing something weird. Why was it different now? After all the time he’s spent listening to Kakeru’s voice, why did it feel different now to hear him in person again?
He wanted to turn around, walk back out - maybe he wasn’t ready after all. Eru wouldn’t take long, would he?
“H-Hikari?”
So he does remember him.
Reddish eyes slowly looked up meeting the smiling gaze of an all too familiar idol. He was…happy to see him?
“Hikari! It’s been so long” Kakeru exclaimed, beckoning the shorter closer. Hikari slowly complied, stopping just short of the table Kakeru was sat behind.
The blonde stood up, walking around the table to greet him properly. “Has…Has everything been okay?” he asked, voice a bit softer and eyes a bit more concerned filled.
Hikari nodded, nothing bad of the sort had happened lately. The prick hasn’t spoken to him since that night, he must have finally grasped that Hikari despised him.
Kakeru smiled in relief, “I’m glad! It’s great to see you again…uh sorry I didn’t tell you about this” he uttered the last part quietly, a sheepish look on his face as he rubbed the back of his head.
“It’s okay, you must have your reasons” Hikari mumbled, Kakeru’s laugh sounded forced.
“Hey, are you staying to watch us perform?” he asked soon after, brushing off the awkwardness and resuming his usual smile.
Weird. Hikari thought but nodded regardless.
“Show me your ticket! I’ll see if you can come back stage once we’re done, I’d like to talk more…If that’s okay?” Kakeru asked, somewhat shyly.
Hikari couldn’t deny him with such an expression.
“Great" Kakeru grinned before he was cut off by a voice telling him to hurry, “ah sorry. Do you want a picture or?”
It was still a mystery to Hikari what compelled him to say yes.
~~
A learning experience huh?
He thought to himself, recalling Ensio’s words to him, a scoff threatened to leave his mouth as he crossed his arms around himself.
A learning experience that I should think twice.
He continued, eyes peering around him at the jumping girls screaming and waving their favourite’s lights. Hikari hated it, not only was he questioning why he came but he was questioning why he decided to join the group with his supposed friends too. If this is what it will be like he rather quit whilst he still can, or at least he thinks so.
Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad to be the on the stage, away from sweaty hot bodies jostling each other. He huffed.
At least the actual performance wasn’t bad, if he wasn’t so bothered about the people around him you could even say it was entrancing.
Hikari couldn’t take his eyes off of Kakeru, and he found he didn’t at all mind.
Back stage was somewhat daunting to Hikari, following behind a tall man that could probably take him out with just a swing of the hand didn’t make it any better. The only thing that did take his mind off of it was Eru, who had somehow wriggled his way into coming along too.
Relief filled him at the sight of the group who were just on stage, for once he would say he was actually happy to see someone. Really, Hikari is only glad that the man leading them here had turned and took his leave. He felt less intimidated in the very least.
Eru wasted no time in rushing over to the six, excitedly blabbering nonsense which probably came as a surprise to the group.
At some point, Kakeru broke away from them making his way over to Hikari with a large smile on his face. He was sweaty, and seemingly still trying to catch his breath but somehow he still looked…decent. Hikari neither smiled nor frowned upon his arrival.
“What did you think?” Kakeru asked, hands gripping the towel around his neck as he semi patiently awaited his answer.
Hikari kept his arms cradled around himself, looking around them. No one else seemed to be paying attention to them, Eru was doing a good job of single handedly keeping them busy. He shifted his weight.
“It was…good” He murmured, not missing the way Kakeru’s grin widened. He was too happy, Hikari decided. Far too happy.
“You’d come to another one?” Kakeru asked with a tiny bounce, part of Hikari wonders why Eru didn’t come and meet Kakeru instead of Koi - or were they more similar?
Hikari pondered the question for a short while, would he come to another? Would he stand with bodies jostling him, loud music and screams? He’s already tired as it is but…Kakeru made it worth it. He doesn’t know why or how but he did it.
He found himself nodding, ever so slightly. Kakeru seemed pleased with the answer.
“Hey uhh” the blonde started, his cheerfulness slowly fading to a shy attitude. “I was meant to give you this” he said quietly, a blush dusting over his cheeks as he passed Hikari a small bit of paper.
Hikari stared at it for a few moments before accepting it and opening it up.
“We aren’t really supposed to, especially to someone you’ve only met twice but I wanted to when you stayed over.” Kakeru explained, half hiding his face in the towel around him.
Hikari hated the way his cheeks heated up upon discovering what the note was. A phone number, or rather Kakeru’s phone number.
He wanted to ask why, tell him not to be stupid, and give it back all at once. And yet his fingers curled around the paper, keeping it locked within his palm. He looked down.
“Weirdo” He murmured, “You’re so weird”
Kakeru laughed quietly, rubbing his arm. “I know but I care for you, is that really so strange?”
Yes, Yes it really is. Hikari thought, his gaze remaining cast towards the floor.
“I’ve got to go” said Kakeru, peering over his shoulder at his friends disbanding. “You can…call me if you want” he continued shyly, the dusty blush over his cheeks darkening. “Or text, you don’t have to!”
Hikari almost snickered at the man, “See you…moron” Kakeru smiled, waving at him before running off to catch up with the pinkhead from his group.
His thoughts remained on Kakeru, even after they had left the building. The note still in hands, ticket stored safely away, as well as the picture they took earlier.
- Your room or mine?
- Mine
Rui didn’t give the message a second thought as his fingers typed a quick reply, the word ‘read’ soon underlining his response - a sign he could put his phone away. An action lazily carried out as he chucked it on his bed.
Out of context those four words could mean anything, especially from the person saying them. However, those four words held a deep meaning for the two on days like these. Rui wasn’t sure if Aoi picked up on it from his slow responses throughout the day, or if Aoi himself was feeling the same. He didn’t ponder it for long, though, a deep sigh escaping his lips as he slowly closed his bedroom door behind him.
Aoi would be here soon, or so he assumed from the message, he might as well try and get comfortable until he’s here Rui decided. Hands already moving to rid his body of the tiring memories the day has left him with, he shrugged on a shirt Aoi had left one night the bottoms could stay he was too tired to do anything else.
With little to no grace, he half threw and half collapsed on to his bed. He didn’t bother adjusting himself, his leg was hanging off the side but what did it matter. The day had dragged on too long, the least it could allow him was this.
Part of him registered movement at the end of the bed, it was most likely Yamato - he bit back a frown. Any other day he would have called the cat to come cuddle with him, not today. For the first time, Rui didn’t want Yamato to be his comfort. He longed for the presence of his partner.
Rui was granted this not long after, his tired eyes blinking open at the sound of shuffling outside his door. He didn’t have to wait long for it to open slowly, a familiar head of blonde peeking through. The smile on his face was one of relief as he willed himself to sit up, Aoi walked further into the room closing his door behind him.
“Hey”
Rui took note of how quiet his voice was, as if it took everything within him just to open his mouth for a simple greeting. Worry sparked within him at that, eyes skimming over his partner. Worn. He looked worn and out of it. His blue eyes looked how Rui felt, there was tension in his body.
It seemed it was one of those days for Aoi too.
“Hey” He whispered once the man was close enough, Aoi barely managed his usual smile. As tough as the day was to him, Rui could only help Aoi too. Reaching forward, he tugged at the sleeves of Aoi’s jacket forcing it to slide off the man’s shoulders before tugging him down to lay beside him. Aoi sighed gratefully, arms wrapping around his smaller boyfriend with a small nuzzle. He no longer hesitated to hug him.
Rui shifted closer, already feeling the slightest bit better from being in the warmth of Aoi’s arms. This is what he’s needed all day, what he’s longed for. Aoi’s presence alone was enough to ease his troubles, he wondered if it were the same with him to Aoi.
“What happened?” the said man asked, voice soft just above a whisper. Rui snaked his arms around him more, perhaps he should have asked that first. Regardless, he took a deep breath gathering his words together.
“This morning, I thought Yamato had gone missing. He wasn’t anywhere to be found and he’s usually around at the time I wake up. Yoru said he’d keep an eye out for him incase he came back whilst i was out doing the job but I still worried...Around midday I got separated from the others because i wasn’t paying attention and got lost, it took an hour for Ikkun and Kai to find me. During our recording for a new song, my voice wouldn’t cooperate so we had to reschedule for another time, and...and”
Rui breathed out, fingers curling around the material of Aoi’s shirt. Aoi gently stroked his back, letting him know he was there now he was listening - he would comfort him.
Rui closed his eyes, “I slept terribly last night so I was tired all day” he murmured, a childlike innocence to him as he held back his embarrassment. He needn’t start his story with ‘I had a bad day’.
Aoi didn’t say much or anything at all, instead he placed a gentle kiss to his forehead. There wasn’t much to say after all, Rui appreciated the action - just being in his arms was enough for him. Getting it out in the open was like a weight lifted off his shoulders, he relaxed.
“What’s got Aoi all worn out?” he asked after a few a minutes of comforting silence. Aoi chuckled weakly shaking his head to which Rui bit back a pout pushing the older man onto his back. He peer over into Aoi’s line of sight, half laying on top of him and half laying on the bed.
Aoi simply looked up at him, a tiny smile tugging at his lips. Rui brushed his hair out of his face for him, tell me too his own eyes said. Aoi couldn’t help another sigh.
“I guess I’ve just been out of it really” He started, somewhat of a forced laugh following it. “My brain wouldn’t work for me today, I messed up each take we did in a magazine shoot I could tell they were close to giving up- well they did for a short while heh..Then later in dance practice I fell over. I think I worried everyone a lot today”
Rui gave a sympathetic smile, eyes peering down his body. Aoi got the feeling he was searching if he had hurt himself during the fall, he held up his left arm. “Nothing bad” He assured.
“It still hurts doesn’t it?” asked Rui, allowing him to slowly lower it back around him.
Aoi used his right hand to gently scratch his cheek, “Only slightly, it’s not broken, fractured or sprained.”
“Aoi needs to be careful” Rui murmured, resting his head in the crook of the man’s neck.
Aoi only held him closer. “I will” he whispered. Rui smiled, a genuine smile, feeling Aoi press another kiss to his forehead.
“Stay the night?” he asked tiredly, his eyes falling shut as he grew more relaxed. He didn’t want to lose the warmth, his comfort. Not when he’s needed it for so long, it had to be the same for Aoi right?
“Of course”
Rui hummed in content, only registering a quiet murmur into his hair before he lulled to sleep with Aoi in both his arms and dreams.
In context, those four words held great meaning to them for it meant cuddles and comfort on a bad day.
