Isaac’’s family had their quirky moments, but all in all, he enjoyed most of them. Isaac and his twin, Violet, are as close as anything. They’ll sit for hours talking, studying, practicing for Quidditch and just hanging around each other. Connor, his older brother, was someone he was also really close to. Connor helped look after both Isaac and Violet whenever their parents were away or magically disappeared for a while. He seemed to bond with Connor who taught both the twins how to ride bikes and practice pranks on others. Isaac has never had a problem with any of his family members. He stays mutual in his older brother’s hate for his father and his twin sister’s hate for their mother. Isaac just likes to help everyone out and he doesn’t care if it’s homework, babysitting or just tell them that they are everything to him; Isaac is the most supportive of all of the Starkey children, probably even the family. He doesn’t know it, but Isaac has stopped his family from splitting up more than any other person could imagine; he’s the glue for a crumbling family and everyone but him knows it.
Hogwarts was everything Isaac hoped it would be. There was a huge library, his siblings were there, he was allowed to play Quidditch; dream come true. Isaac enjoyed many things about Hogwarts, but he also knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life. For that, he became ruthless in his schooling. Being placed in Slytherin because of his need to learn, not his want and how he went about it, didn’t shock him. He was happy to take his place with his twin sister in Slytherin. Being accepted into Hogwarts made something very clear to Isaac that he had wanted confirmed. He was able to do everything all at the same time. Something gifted to Isaac, via a family member, helped him so that he could use his own greedy need for classes as a way of learning. Isaac was given a time-turner necklace; so in return, Isaac took every class on the syllabus that he could take. Isaac enjoyed his time at Hogwarts. From the way he walked tall with his twin sister in their uniforms, to doing Connor’s homework and goofing off with him to Hogsmeade and attending over 15 classes. He didn’t have time for people who weren’t willing to take what they want and his greediness in a need to learn is the reason he wasn’t in Ravenclaw.
Isaac has a genuine heart. His life changed when he realised how deceitful people viewed him because of his housing in Slytherin; but he doesn’t care. The important people know what he’s like and the rest all get treated poorly. Isaac believes in the way people treat you is the way you should treat them; so he enjoys walking the halls with Violet. He never tells anyone, but he feels like he slips in to Violet’s shadow; sometimes it works for him. Isaac enjoys the studying side of things, he enjoys Quidditch and he enjoys being around people that care about him. Despite his Slytherin uniform he used to wear, he’s well aware of the fact that he has many qualities that could put him in other houses. He’s has a kind heart and he’s love for school and thirst to learn could’ve put him in Ravenclaw; his heart wanted to be with his sister though and that’s what he got. He had to toy with the hat in his mind and that gave him the courage for Gryffindor; a place where it was okay to question people and it wouldn’t seem arrogant. Violet means a lot to him, so does Connor. He just wants them to be happy, but he also has his own goals and aspirations that he thinks about and can convey for others to do for him. Isaac’s manipulation techniques are above the normal and he’s good at what he does. Violet isn’t the only one with Slytherin traits.
Isaac passed all of his Hogwarts classes with flying colours, despite the extreme work load, which he learned he could cope with as long as he managed his time and used his time turner effectively. He is a very punctual person and is always early or on time, so his time turning skills were perfect, and no one ever suspected anything, apart from a few questions about why he had homework for so many different classes. This means that at Ashwind, Isaac had a hard time trying to figure out what he wanted to do, because he could see possible career paths in every subject. The class he was best at and enjoyed the most was Potions, so Isaac has decided his main subjects will be Potions, Alchemy, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures and History of magic, as the first two will give him practical and theoretical work, as they latter three will provide a background and potential connections.With the help of his time turner, Isaac has also decided he wants to pick up subjects that he is particularly interested in, even if he doesn’t plan on taking them with him throughout his life and career. He has chosen to additionally take Defense Against the Dark Arts, Arithmancy, Charms, Ghoul Studies and Transfiguration. He is hoping his brother, Connor, will do more of his own homework this year, but not because Isaac doesn’t want to do it. He has no problem with doing it but it would do Connor some good and it means Isaac has to learn things more than once, as some of their classes overlap and when he does homework for the year above he has to repeat it the next year. It doesn’t matter if he still has to do it though, because he enjoys Ashwind and the work. He also knows that his social life can be improved this year as he has finally managed to grasp that the time turner can be used for work as well as play.
