people in the atla fandom really forget about aang’s anger, huh. they reduce his personality to careless joy, and they reduce his choices to pure pacifism and naiveté, when his behavior is not so two dimensional. aang has a bit of anger near his core, a product of grief, and his choices and behavior are all made despite this anger. he chooses to liberate himself from it. he chooses to be joyful, he chooses to be a pacifist. he chooses kindness and he does so even when he knows that the world will not approve, and it takes incredible internal strength to do so.

trrrying to decide on when aang’s birthday is gonna be. while i could just carry on the tradition of having it be the date of when i make my new muse’s blog, this time i think i’m gonna be more picky about it and the symbolism regarding zodiac signs. i’ve decided to go with gemini, because 1.) it’s an air sign, and the description of gemini traits in zodiac lore seems to line up with his character’s themes relatively well (though i argue libra feels just a bit more accurate in that regard), but also 2.), i’m VERY BIASED and want him to have a summer birthday VERY VERY badly. just. the idea of aang noting that it’s the summer solstice when avatar roku tells him about how the war with the fire nation actually started and having that oh shit i missed my birthday moment because he was so busy with training and traveling with the rest of the gang?? also consider; him mentioning this in passing, just kinda going oh huh i guess i’m 13 now haha cool all nonchalant like and the team is just like BITCH WHAT WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING and throws him a little birthday party?? please im so weak
