Today’s post is in honor of Oman winning the Gulf Cup. Why Oman? Well, I was born and brought up in Oman. Stayed there for nearly 18 years before I moved to Mumbai for my graduation. Every long weekend, as a family we would make it a point to visit one of the many sights in Oman. One of them is the Bimmah Sinkhole. Located about 2 hours from Muscat, the sinkhole is literally an oasis in the middle of the desert.(It’s not too far from the sea, but it is truly an oasis). The sinkhole was formed by the surface layer collapsing due to the dissolution of limestone underneath the structure. Although locals suggest it was created by a meteorite. The water is clear and pristine and houses tiny fish. The place is amazing for a swim and a small picnic. P. S.
