15: “I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s going on.”
17: “I just want to be alone.”
“Oh my God,” Y/N whispered, staring down at the pregnancy test in her hand. “This can’t be happening.” She can’t be pregnant, not when Calum’s on tour, creating new music for their fans and living out his dream.
A knock sounded through the door and she jumped, eyes wide when she heard Calum’s voice, “You okay in there, love? It’s been a while.” She bit her trembling lips, not wanting to keep this from Calum, but how was she supposed to tell him he was going to be a dad when he was leaving on tour in a couple of weeks. “I’m fine,” she answered, hoping Calum didn’t catch the way her voice wavered.
“Are you crying?” he asked, reaching for the door knob and cursing when it wouldn’t budge. “I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s going on.”
“Calum, please–” she started, “I just want to be alone.”
“Well, I’m not leaving this spot,” he said stubbornly, moving to sit on the floor with his back resting against the door. She huffed, knowing he’d make this a lot harder than it had to be. A part of her wants to tell him because she thinks he would be happy with having a mini Calum or Y/N running around, but the other part of her thinks he wouldn’t because he’s still young and creating music.
She was going to have to tell him one way or another, might as well be now. Y/N breathed out through her nose, eyes closing to calm her nerves.She glanced at the test once again just to make sure her eyes weren’t tricking her and she mine as well be damned because they weren’t.
She took hesitant steps towards the door and unlocked it, swinging it open to see Calum’s form moving to stand up. He walked towards her, eyes on her face and she stuck her hand out to stop him. He looked down at the white stick, mouth falling open as did a double take before picking her up by the waist, a gasp escaping her lips as he twirled her around. “Oh my– I’m going to be a dad!”
“Of course not. I’ve always wanted kids, especially with you,” he said, hands coming up to cup her face. “Is this why you were hiding in the bathroom? You were scared I wouldn’t be happy?”
“I knew you wanted to be a father, Cal, but I didn’t know if the timing was right because you’ve still got your music to focus on and I don’t want to keep you from doing what you love,” she explained as his eyebrows furrowed.
“Sweetheart, I’ve got my whole life to think of music. Besides, who said you couldn’t come on tour with me?” he asked.
“Really? You wouldn’t mind having a hormonal pregnant woman rooming with you guys?” she asked, a secret smile slipping on her face. He chuckled and nodded, “That’s exactly what I want.”
