I have never cried at a book before. Not at Harry Potter or Little Women, Anne of Green Gables or The Raven Cycle. But I cried at the end of @lindsayeagar HOUR OF THE BEES. If you haven’t read Lindsay before, consider this an order to GET ON THAT. This book is masterful. Poignant, wrenching, hopeful, relatable, enchanting. Reads like a folktale/fairytale. Gorgeous language. Prompts you to contemplate life and love, loss and living. I know I’m late to the party, as this was her debut, but I cannot say enough. She continues to improve as a writer! Read her newer stuff: RACE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA and THE BIGFOOT FILES. And what a human being. Lindsay is light, and lovely. From the moment we met, I felt open and connected to her. We are so lucky (*I* am so lucky!) to be in her orbit and experience her stories.
