Not every love is sweet and kind Sometimes, love is dangerous Poisonous, addictive, obsessive Leaving emotional, mental and physical scars Don’t want to walk away, refuse to let go To need, no matter how much it hurts To know the same pain is returned Because some don’t want just the sweet They crave the bitter too

>|🍨|> The twotone was quick on Cinder’s heels, unfurling her parasol and twirling it behind her back, as if the walk through a palace of evil was a walk in the park. She was proud, despite how ruined her clothing was, and she wouldn’t let anyone except Cinder see her weak.
That, I can be counted on. She wasn’t any match for me when I fought her last. The only reason we lost was quick thinking in a hopeless situation on her part. Came the reply, hovered at the corner of Cinder’s eye.
Cinder read it as best she could. She almost wanted to scold Neo for being confident, she was confident that the Rose pose no threat, she wasn’t even a point in the plan, yet she did this to her.
She stopped outside her room and opened the door, “…Change…” she said in a weak crackled voice, her hand gesturing Neo to go inside to acquire some cleaner clothing.
>|🍨|> Neo wasted no time following Cinder’s orders, sliding into the room, taking stock of the selection of outfits. Nothing too impressive, mainly gowns like the one Cinder wore and suits. She took this into consideration, though, as she pulled her dirty outfit off, grabbing on of the gowns, a light lavender. A quick slice from her parasol’s estoc to open the dress up for more maneuverability, and she had the outfit she wanted, as well as a template for illusions should she need a different look.
As she slipped the dress over her head, she reflected on what she had written. Perhaps she had been too liberal in her description. She and Roman had kicked Red around easily, but then she had gone and done that to Cinder. She had failed, in the end. That wouldn’t do whatsoever. She would be useful. She’d get the results Cinder wanted. After all, where else did she have to go?
She stepped out of the room, nodding at Cinder that she was ready to continue.

With Roman gone, I’ve got no reason to keep up his legacy.” Neo sighed softly, running her hand across Yang’s cheek. “Maybe I’ll learn trapeze, go back to a performing troupe and do what my mother did.” She winked at the blonde, sticking her tongue out. “Maybe you can run off and join the circus, then, hothead. I hear that the tightrope performers can be attractive.”
≪☼≫ “Maybe, it’s a fun thought, but I think I’m fine with sticking around here. With you.”
She winked and kissed the air, before giggling.
“I think we flirt a lot more now than we used to… Which is hard to believe.”
“Well, what else are we going to do, go on another actual date? Nah, far too much effort.” Neo chuckled, twirling a lock of golden hair around her finger. “Speaking of which, what is there to do here on Patch? I know most recreational facilities aren’t going to be open, not with the chaos on the mainland. But surely there’s something a couple could do for fun around here, right?” Honestly, she could do with the distraction. Some bonding the two could do together . . . it had been so long.

>|🍨|> “Only a hundred? I think I can handle that. If he asks if I have a criminal history, though, I think I’ll say that I worked for a criminal mastermind for half my life. Maybe he’ll think I’m joking.”
She nestled in closer, wrapping her arms around Yang’s sight, enjoying the warmth. The blonde was like a space heater, really. It made cuddling her like this all the better. Thank goodness Neo wasn’t actually ice cream though, or she’d melt into a puddle.
≪☼≫”If not, I can easily cover for ya. Dad thinks I’m quick to act, but I’m not dumb. It’s not like I’d date some big time criminal or anything, right?”
It was said jokingly, since technically they had been dating before Neo had changed paths. Still, she knew it would be okay. If Yang was finally being happy, maybe her dad would ease off some of his worry.
>|🍨|> “You don’t need to worry about the criminal part, at the least. >|🍨|> To Neo’s credit, she was thinking. Roman’s words echoed in her head. The group they, now just she, worked for, was going to change the world. And the winning side was standing before her. Even with her natural beauty marred, Cinder still gleamed with inner power. She demanded the attention of others simply by her presence.
And Neo’s attention was certainly riveted.
As long as Red’s death is painful, she is all yours. Came the reply. She took from both of us, so as long as vengeance is enacted, I don’t care. If I must, I can bring her to you myself.
‘But that’s just it neo, Salem wishes her to be brought her alive, for what purpose? I am not sure, but, I trust you with hunter her down and bringing her here. Harmed as much as possible if need be, just don’t kill her. The last thing I want is to go against Salem’s orders.’ Cinder wrote in response before turning away.
Her hand made a brief gesture for Neo to follow. There were no rooms for her currently, but Cinder could arrange something, even if some others would find it disruptive.

>|🍨|> Neo’s eyes narrowed the moment Rose was penned. Roman was dead because of that … annoyance. She’d gone back to the crashed ship to make sure, the only evidence she’d found was a feather-covered hat and Melodic Cudgel, which hung from her side, opposite her parasol. And apparently, Red had tripped up Cinder, too? That had to be cause for her boss’s current state. The girl was young, but she and her team had caused so many problems. She’d get revenge for their misfortune, though. All in good time.
You treated me fairly, even praised by work. We’ve even had the chance to fight side by side, and that was an honor I won’t soon forget. Salem is powerful, but I hold no loyalty to her. So I will happily do as she orders, but you are my priority, Cinder.
A pause for a moment, then Neo rolled her eyes, writing one more line.
Seriously, I sound like a second Emerald. Not what I was going for.
It was almost painful to read, but this was the result of her words, ‘don’t think, obey’. A statement told many times to her through various people, and now the result was clear to see. Cinder nodded and understood before taking back to notepad.
‘Very well, that will be our structure.’ It was almost poetic, two silent women, one loyal to the other, speaking through written words of their plans. Cinder could almost smile.
‘But, to be clear, the Rose girl is mine to kill, not yours.’

>|🍨|> “Heh, I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. I think our record speaks for itself.” And no, fighting wasn’t the only thing Neo was referring to. She nipped the other’s ear playfully. Now wasn’t the time for that, of course. Taiyang was sure to be wondering about her daughter’s visiting friend, and that would have to be dealt with before anything.
“So I assume I get the best place to stay in the house? That is, right here, next to you.” She teased. “Your father wouldn’t deny me that, right?”
≪☼≫ “Of course. Dad’s probably going to like, drill you for a hundred questions or so, but I think you can handle that just fine.”
Taiyang probably wouldn’t be so keen on someone sharing a bed with her, even if sex wasn’t involved, but he also knew he couldn’t stop his daughter either. If her mind was made up on it, it was final in that regard. Certain things he would enforce, but on such a matter? It’d be too much trouble.
>|🍨|> “Only a hundred? I think I can handle that. If he asks if I have a criminal history, though, I think I’ll say that I worked for a criminal mastermind for half my life. Maybe he’ll think I’m joking.”

>|🍨|> Neo didn’t give Cinder a look of sympathy, instead keeping her trademark smirk spread on her face, despite her exhaustion. No, the last thing she’d want now, if she was in Cinder’s place, was for someone to be looking at her with such a sorry expression. She could see the damage plain, and that was enough. Cinder was still Cinder, no matter what had happened to her.
Now, I continue my job, Lady Cinder. Doing what you need me to do. You, not Salem. Though I will do her bidding if that is what you need. She wrote. I assume that the plan was successful, though? The fire in your eyes suggests as much.
Neo knew eyes. She’d spent so much of her life changing those to suit her needs that she could see behind anyone else’s. She saw power in the other’s now, more power than before.
The girl could read more than she let on, clever, but also valuable. Haveing an ally loyal to only her would be useful, but dangerous, the likely hood of Salem finding out would be high. The worse would be that Salem had her killed, and tell Cinder off for it.
No, it would be better to play safe, “Y-You will…” she couldn’t her voice was still broken. Cinder reached out and took the notepad along with the pen Neo had and took a moment to write down her thought before handing it back.
‘You show loyalty to me even after all this? I must say I’m impressed you even made it this far. The plan was, but, there was a minor thorn, the Rose which kept interfering with Roman’s plans turned out to have an ace in the hole. But for now, I want you to stay close to me, however, if Salem asks something of you, do it, she is not one to deny anything from.’

>|🍨|> “So we’ve both got our flaws, then.” Neo snickered, pressing a kiss to the bottom of Yang’s chin. “I suppose two emotional people living together is a bad idea … but with you, I don’t think so.”
She slipped her arms around her still-girlfriend, to her complete relief. Things were working out better than she had ever hoped.
“If you like to get into fights … why not fight me? We could practice together.” She suggested. “Besides, I wouldn’t mind wrapping around you like our first fight. Remember that?”
≪☼≫”You just want to get on my body again. I know you can’t resist me.”
A laugh, as hand went to playfully squeeze the other’s ass.
“As long as I get to get my hands on you as well, I think we got a deal.”
She realized a moment too late the ‘hands’ comment. Oh well.
“That is… If you think you can handle me, Sugar Lips.”

>|🍨|> The silence was returned in full as Neo gazed back at Cinder, her white eyes softening to pink. She had traveled far … so far, chasing rumors. Fought Grim, avoided bandits, survived all on her own, no matter the cost. And finally it paid off. She opened her mouth to speak, but found no words come out. She had gone so long without speech … she didn’t even know if she could talk any more.
She reverted to her old mode of communication, pulling a pen and notepad from her jeans pocket. It was in tatters as well, every inch covered in writing from her travels. Finally, she found the one pristine page, the one she’d been saving if she ever got to this moment. She wrote down two words, turning it for Cinder to see.
Found you.
The moment was somewhat unnerving, truly it was impressive that Neo managed to find her after all this time, but something was off. Cinder read the note with an expression of neutrality, not wanting to give her emotions away, at least at a time like this.
She cleared her throat as best she could to speak. “…Now what?” she whispered, her voice rough and jagged, like broken glass, an odd fit for the way she was now.
>|🍨|> Neo didn’t give Cinder a look of sympathy, instead keeping her trademark smirk spread on her face, despite her exhaustion. Cinder looked down at the small twin coloured girl in front of her, she looked dirty, like she hadn’t washed her clothes in months. She was surprised that the girl came this way, to do what? Follow someone simply to follow? The timing was made more awkward with the absence of Emerald by her side as she remained silent.

Emotional, crazy, kleptomania … I’ve enjoy violence, Yang. It wouldn’t be a far cry to call me a monster …” She sighed, shutting her eyes tighter. This was a girl she had almost killed. Yet here they were.
She opened her eyes, thinking, then pulled her scroll out of her jeans, opening up a message and typing, showing the screen to Yang.
Hey, hot stuff. I love you.
≪☼≫ “Ah… That brings back memories. I love you too.”
Another pat to her head, before hugging her close.
“I’ve got a hot temper, a tendency to get myself in trouble, and like to get into fights.”
