Apples- Vitamins A & C, fiber and low in protein and fat.
Bananas- Low calorie, High in Potassium, Low in cholesterol & sodium, Vitamins, biotin, fiber & copper.
Blueberries- Superfoods! Rich in antioxidants, packed with fiber & Phytochemicals.
Cantaloupe- Packed with nutrients, low in calories, great source of water & fiber. High in sugar, so don't over feed!!Ā
Cucumbers- Good for overweight dogs, little to no carbs, fats or oils. Can boost Ā energy levels. Loaded with vitamins k, c, B1, potassium, copper, magnesium, & biotin.Ā
Mango- Vitamins A, B6, C, & E, potassium, both Beta & Aplha Carotene, Remove pit (contains cyanide & choking hazard). High in sugar so occasional teat.
Oranges- May not be a fan of strong smelling citrus. Excellent source of vitamin C, potassium & fiber. Only offer the flesh of the orange not the peel!
Peaches- Small amounts of fresh/frozen. Great source of fiber, vitamin A. Can help fight infections. No canned high in sugary syrups.
Pears- Great snack. High in copper, vitamins C & K, fiber. Can reduce the risk of having a stroke by 50%. NO canned.
Pineapple- A few chunks sweet treat. Full of vitamins, minerals & fiber. Contains Bromelain, and enzyme that makes it easier to absorb proteins.
Raspberries- Fine in moderation. Contains antioxidants. Low in sugar & calories, high in fiber, manganese, vitamin C. Good for senior dogs, has anti inflammatory properties. Small amounts of xylitol, limit dog to less than a cup at a time.
Strawberries- Full of fiber & vitamin C. Contains and enzyme that can help whiten your dogs teeth. Give in moderation.
Watermelon- No rinds/seeds. Full of vitamin A, B6 & C, potassium. 92% water, so helps hydrate.
Brussel Sprouts- Loaded in nutrients & antioxidants. Don't overfeed, CAN CAUSE GAS!!Ā
Carrots- Excellent low calorie snack. High in fiber & beta- carotene, which produces vitamin A. Great for dogs teeth.
Celery- Vitamin A,B,C produces nutrients to promote a healthy heart & fight cancer. Also know to freshen doggy breath.
Green Beans- Chopped, steamed, raw or canned (no salt). All types are safe as long as they are plain. Full of important vitamins & minerals, full of fiber and low in calories.
Peas- Green, snow, sugar snap, garden/English peas are okay on occasion. Have several vitamins & minerals. Rich in protein, high in fiber.
Pumpkin- Fiber rich food, vitamins A, C, E, potassium & iron. Eases digestions, adds bulk to dogs stool by absorbing water & fiber fermentation. Produces beneficial fatty acids that supply energy to cells, stimulate intestinal sodium & water absorption & low pH levels. Its a prebiotic!Ā
Fish Oil- Supports a healthy heart, promotes silky coat, reduces itchy & flaky skin, helps relieve allergies & joint pain. Helps strengthen immune system & could help fight cancer. Omega 3,6,9.
Coconut Oil- Increase energy levels, improves skin & coat, improve digestion & reduces allergic reactions. Given 1-2 times a day. High in fat so keep an eye out for weight gain. 1/4 teaspoon for small dogs, 1 teaspoon- 1 tablespoon daily.
