#Thedreamers This country is truly being divided. My mother and father were immigrants from Barbados with a DREAM. Coming to the U.S as children wanting a better life and future. They both became College graduates with great careers...married with children the American dream to have a home to raise a family. This was their DREAM growing up to leave the islands to make a better way for their children... We have to fight to ensure that the DREAMS that many immigrant children have become their reality. #isupportdaca #daca

Back to school Tips for parents

So your little one is heading back to school The first few weeks of back to school are always hard on the parents and child. Here are some tips we like to use to have a smooth transition from summer fun to a focused school year. 1- start a bedtime routine 7:30 is a perfect time for your little one to be in bed to help them relax and calm down from such a fun filled day. 2- prepare you child’s weekly wardrobe the night before or look at the forecast for the week and have the weekly attire ready Sunday nights 3- create a routine. Kids live off of routine and will follow it because they rather structure. 4- get the excited for school to start. Drive pat the school, help them daydream about a fun filled day with new friends. 5- go over the do’s and dont’s when in school. 6- Most important tip for same sex families are to share with your child , how important it is to be proud of their family. When meeting new friends many may not understand their family dynamics so try to explain to your little one that it’s okay if their classmates don’t understand their family. Moving forward with life.

moving forward with life, can become difficult if you have a hard time letting go of the past. I was struggling with letting go of a lot of things that has happened to me in my past. I am now at a point in my life that i want to let go and move forward. Processing the thoughts and where i want to be in life has finally hit me. The self doubt that i once had is slowing leaving my mental space. I now feel free from the doubt the negative past and the other underlining issues that i had. It was so unclear to my i was feeling this way and what i need to do to stop these thoughts from reoccurring. I decided to move forward with my life, plan for the future get going with my goals and aspirations in life.  

Moving forward was the best thing i could have done for myself. 

I had to share this piece of my life because this seems to help me therapeutically.

Sick

My baby has been dealing with stomach issues more and more Dr visits Bloodwork Purchasing clean up products It's just been a really horrible week I'm not complaining I'm not stressed I'm just overwhelmed I pray my baby needs my love And my love is all I can give

Motherhood

Motherhood The joy of a child starts from the moment you find out you are pregnant You worry and pray for a healthy baby Motherhood hits you once the baby enters the world The stress increases The worry is constant The joy is unexplainable Motherhood Nothing understanding the changes you go through as your child grows Motherhood At times nights get a little longer and days fly by. Motherhood I would never deny my child I love him so very much I'm giving him the love I never received from my mother Motherhood Accepting every challenge faced Motherhood Blessed

Puzzle pieces

My brain is box of puzzle pieces with only the corners stuck to make sure the puzzle can be completed. All the other pieces seem to be scattered all around wanting to be fitted in the puzzle. This is just a depiction of what goes on in my head about the things I seem unclear about. My life isn't were I want it to be ... yes I know I'm blessed I have a family and loving wife and an adorable son and beautiful home and loving people around me, but I still feel empty and unhappy. My goals aren't where I want them to be, achieving them seems so imaginary at this point. The hopes and dreams as somewhat drifting away to an undesirable place in my head. Depression, anxiety all trigger these influx of emotions. Wanting to rationalize it seems to be unattainable. Why can't I figure shit out and just focus on positivity?! That's never the case... I'm usually the peace maker, positivity guru but I can't take my own advice. I saw this to say I'm really in the fight to gain the courage to stand up to my fears and my doubts. If I continue to allow my doubts and fears handicap my life I will never figure out this lifetime puzzle inside of my head. -the words of K
