Call it an obsession, a hobby, a time filler, an experiment or just something I set out to do and wanted to finish. I finally got the time to try and turn these beans into some coffee. This is attempt number one of what will hopefully be many. As a first experiment I obviously didn't fully know what I was doing, but I went to the hardware store, bought a wooden spoon, heat gun, stainless steel bowl and chicken wire. Total cost.... Maybe 75 bucks. It took a bit longer than I thought to roast them and I stopped at a medium roast. Ground it up and made an espresso. It was great, although for a good latte I need to roast them a bit more. The process - throw the green beans in the bowl, turn heat gun on, stir and heat, wait until they smell great and look like they are the right colour you want, pour them on a cooling surface (chicken wire set up in he picture above) and then grind and make a coffee!
