Recently got Costumes of the Greeks and Romans (Dover Fashion and Costumes) by Thomas Hope. It has like 700 illustrations of attire and found your shield and bows in there. But I'm currently trying to find more references for more clothing. Do you got any? I can't keep putting Pel in the same tunic style.
Hiya moot, I feel you and have the same struggle :’). Tried to include references with men’s clothing—especially for Minoan/Mycenaean casual wear because that’s harder to find. (plenty for armor though! salimbeti.com is the goat)
I like this because it describes what garments were worn for what purpose:
Minoan fashion is the base of how our garments look like today. Learn how the Minoan Civilization shaped today's fashion world!
hats and headdress book (for several periods and locations, yippee!):
Author: R. Turner Wilcox Charles Scribner's Sons, New York (NY), 1952, 200 pp.
Obligatory Salimbeti plug of course:
The Greek Age of Bronze
Minoan, Mycenaean, ancient Crete clothing:
The Cretan costume of Antiquity. Minoan or Mycenaean Age. Long ago on the island of Crete there lived a group of people called Cretans.
Daisy Viktoria is a costume designer that’s done some Minoan and Mycenaean inspired clothes, but the site is harder to navigate bc they’re all sort of conglomerated into an Ancient Cultures section:
Historical Fashion Our fantasy couture gowns and corsets are made of quality hand selected materials. Our corsets are made of authentic stee
And Peter Connolly's book The Legend of Odysseus has some Mycenaean stuff like this:
you need an archive account but you can borrow it for free here:
80p. :
Diana Wardle is an archaeological researcher where if you dig into her stuff there’s a lot of websites talking about museum exhibits she’s made for Aegean costumes:
I also believe mir-costuma is a website that has more Hellenistic oriented clothing buttt I can’t find it for the life of me, I can only find reposted images.
(Also, if you can get the book, Ariadne’s threads by Bernice R. Jones is full of fantastic resources)
Hope this helps!!!
it's TOMORROW!!!!!
