Today's jam setup. Uploading results later.
I was testing Push at Soundtools store in Helsinki (thanks for all the hassle guys!) when the Launchpad Pro arrived. Lots of interest about the comparison, so here are my thoughts which don’t quite fit the twitter lengths:
Pads:
Rubbery and hard on the Push. Pro has better buttons of the two, but they felt more rubbery than the ones on original LP. Probably due to the fact they are now velocity sensitive and require different material (or I just have poor memory - I loved the original in any case).
That said, increasing the sensitivity on Push made it very usable and fixed my complaints about it. Neither beats the Maschine, though, IMHO. I’ve owned one of those too!
Can’t see shit, Sherlock!
Without power supply, both were pretty unreadable in the sunlight. Push loses in this area even more since it has the black buttons with tiny text designed for people wearing binoculars. I think the technical description for that is “fucking stupid”. Pro works better in light due to the fact that every button adds to the light show.
In Use
So after I plug in the Pro, and we had the Live updated (nice work automatic updates - not!). I started playing with Launchpad. Create track - uh wait - where’s the button? And then the realization hit me that you have to use the mouse/keyboard to create instrument track. This is quite obvious in the end, really. How would it help you choose an instrument or guess what you were going to do?
Finding all the controls was pretty easy, and the setup page seems quite straightforward as well. One of the most useful things was the possibility to stop all clips in a scene, leaving clips from other scenes playing. I disliked the missing step sequencer, and prefer the scales layout of the Push to that of Launchpads, but it is nice to have the possibility to play off keys as well.
Conclusion:
My style is to create stuff on the fly, by going in the flow, so the lack of track creation possibility basically made Launchpad a no-go for me. It has the Launchpad spirit though.
tl;dr Push for music production with performing possibility, Launchpad Pro for performing with production possibilities.
Quick jam, using Bitwig and testing my SM58. (via https://soundcloud.com/twumpy/einz-zwei-jam?utm_source=soundcloud&utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=tumblr)
Love how quickly Bitwig lets me jam & record!

I’ve begun to do these live jams, creating music on the fly. Going to upload these sessions here.
Well done, mate! Knew you'd get far!

My Prodigy - 3 Kilos Edit
Beautiful.
This book was a waste of time. You'd be better off reading the Wikipedia entry and checking out some related pics from Flickr or something, since that's basically what this book was.
Good: Easy to read, The Prodigy
Bad: Everything else
Began combatting my tabula rasa syndrome by using @Tarekith 's advice on subtractive arranging. My track is now a 7 min drum loop, time to go to bed.
