Hi, my main is @twyrewolf, I'll be using this blog for all of my OC posts (mostly Baldur's Gate, hence the name, but eventually my World of Warcraft OCs will be here too), mostly so they don't get lost in all my other stuff. Might occasionally post nsfw stuff, but that'll never be the focus of this blog.
I'm 23, use he/it/neopronouns.
List of OCs (when I make an intro post for them, they'll be linked here):
Finally decided to draw a variant Slayer form for Chiev since he has access to that in canon… very happy with how it came out, but I don’t think I’m drawing this design again any time soon, just because of how much work all the spikes were. That’s why the ‘standing up’ picture on the size chart is just the base Slayer lmao.
Pronouns: He/Him
Gender Identity: Man
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Race: Dragonborn
Class: Giant Barbarian
Background: Soldier
Partner: Lae'zel
Bio/Backstory:
Solar Ignistraz was raised in a small clan of dragonborn, and even from a young age, he was one of the largest and the strongest. As such, he quickly was encouraged into a role as a protector of the clan, which was where he got his martial training. Very early on though, he realized he wasn't suited to such a regimented life, and wanted to find adventure and glory for his clan out in the world. It took years for him to convince the elders of the clan that there was value in this idea. And of course, he had barely left when he got kidnapped by the nautiloid.
He's friendly, though not particularly bright, and tends to believe that the best solution to a disagreement is to fight it out.
In-Game:
When he wakes up in the nautiloid, he meets two people in rapid succession: Lydia, an amnesiac tiefling, and Lae'zel, an aggressive and self-assured githyanki. He immediately trusts both of them entirely, Lydia eventually becoming his best friend.
[More will be added here as the playthrough progresses, since it's a multiplayer run, also a screenshot of Lydia:]
Written (very late) as part of Durgetash week 2025, a little fic featuring Chiev! I'm really happy with how it turned out, so I hope other people like it!
Pronouns: He/It
Gender Identity: Trans man
Sexual Orientation: Gay
Race: Bhaalspawn (Drow)
Class: Bard (Swords)
Background: Haunted One/Dark Urge
Partner(s): Gortash, Astarion, Sparks (friend's Dark Urge, It/Its Dragonborn Sorcerer, mostly in alternate timelines but this is actually the most important relationship for Chiev)
Bio/Backstory:
Chiev was raised by a drow woman fleeing the Underdark after a failed coup. Unbeknownst to her however, her infant daughter had been replaced with a Bhaalspawn in the chaos of her escape. As this child grew up, she saw its strange tendencies and violent urges as a curse from Lolth for her treachery.
She died before learning the truth about her 'child', who was then taken by Sceleritas to the Temple of Bhaal. This was where it solidified itself as a tool of Bhaal, unquestioningly obedient and lethally efficient.
It wasn't all bad though, as Chiev also developed an interest in music separate from his identity as the Chosen of Bhaal, and he also got his name (in timelines where he's with Sparks, they give each other their names, in other timelines the name is given to him by Gortash).
In Game:
Chiev is very invested in the approval of others, or really, the approval of exactly three others: Enver Gortash, Astarion, and Bhaal. This is partly because at one point or another in his life, each of them have positioned themselves as the only person he should listen to, and upon returning to Baldur's Gate, he is hearing all three of them pulling him towards different goals, and as such is having a very rough time of it (for a brief period of time the Dream Guardian/Emperor also occupied a space of "voice I have to listen to", but he is a distant fourth place in Chiev's mind). Above all, he wants to be loved and wanted, and has trouble seeing why what he wants would actually matter if it contradicted what one of those people wants from him.
The Timeline Stuff:
There isn't one specific 'canon' timeline for Chiev, mainly because I have a lot of ideas, all of which have narrative merits, and the one that actually played out in game is too miserable to think of as his exclusive canon (he was on a run specifically to complete achievements, so a lot of his characterization came from working backwards from 'what type of character would fuck the Emperor and then embrace Bhaal three days later')
So Chiev's possible arcs fall into a few different categories, as follows:
'Bad' Timeline/'Gameplay' Timeline:
In this version of events, Chiev reasserts his lack of free will by submitting to Bhaal after the Orin duel. He then also helps Astarion to ascend, giving him a false sense of security that he has control over it. At the top of the Netherbrain, Chiev kills Gortash and Astarion, and then enacts the beginning of the end of the world.
'Neutral' Timeline:
For the first time in his life, Chiev disobeys a direct order from one of his important people, and renounces Bhaal, giving him the realization that he can make choices for himself and what he wants. He then uses this realization to talk Astarion out of ascending. The two of them destroy the Netherbrain together, and slowly figure out what they both want from a life together in the Underdark. Gortash unfortunately still dies to the brain in this timeline, so while it is the morally 'best' ending, it's not the one Chiev is happiest about, so I'm not calling it the good timeline.
'Good' Timeline:
Not as sure about how this one happens, but Chiev, Gortash, and Astarion end up ruling the world together. Absolutely insufferable power throuple. Chiev probably ends up as a mindflayer in this timeline, because he absorbed a lot of tadpoles (the Emperor told him to and no one else said anything otherwise). This is the ending I think the most about the post-canon for, because it's got a lot more going on than the previous two.
Astarion doesn't ascend in this timeline, mainly because the same thought patterns that lead to that outcome are also the ones that get Chiev to embrace Bhaal, and that doesn't really work here.
Sparks Timeline(s):
This is less a specific timeline, and more a collection of related timelines where Chiev and Sparks (who belongs to @hucowboyification and is the most specialist dragonborn in the whole world and I would blow up a building for it) both exist and are in love, influenced by both of us saying "you know what would be cute/fun/sad/fucked up" repeatedly.
And then here are some screenshots and drawings of Chiev:
Pronouns: Any
Gender Identity: A Threat
Sexual Orientation: Bi
Race: High Elf
Class: Paladin (Oathbreaker)
Background: Acolyte
Partner(s): Astarion, Taliyah (Friend's Durge, pictured on right, she might get a post of her own eventually)
Bio/Backstory:
Amanita's parents died when they were very young, and they spent most of their childhood in orphanages or with foster families, none that they cared for enough to remember. They were violent, and not particularly well-adjusted, often left to their own devices, during which time they would explore the city, finding new hiding places and secret passages. This continued into adulthood, where their violent tendencies and propensity to wander off meant they struggled to keep a job or participate in normal society. When their exploration eventually led them to the Temple of Bhaal beneath the city, it was almost a relief. The traits that had made them a problem their whole life were desirable here, and it was in essence, their first real family, or at least the first that they could remember caring about.
Once they were officially inducted into the temple, they swore themself fully into their bloody work. Their oath which imbued them with divine power was to Bhaal and the temple itself, regardless of who acted as the temple's leader. Despite that, Amanita found themself caring for a specific Bhaalspawn, Taliyah, who had arrived at the temple as an orphan, only to quickly rise through the ranks of the temple to become Bhaal's Chosen. Taliyah was charming and quick-witted, and Amanita saw their faith's future in her. Without warning though, Taliyah disappeared, replaced by Orin as Bhaal's Chosen. Amanita's oath meant they should have shifted their loyalties to Orin, as this type of power shift was common in the temple. Instead, Amanita decided to seek Taliyah out.
And they succeeded. They found Taliyah at Moonrise Towers, bloody and maimed within an inch of her life. Their oath told them to finish the job, that Taliyah had failed and should be punished for it, but they couldn't bring themself to do it. In the blur that followed, Amanita was captured by 'the Absolute' as well, and implanted with a tadpole. Now, they find themself in the wilderness with an amnesiac Taliyah, hoping to return their lady to her place of honor in Baldur's Gate, and possibly reforge their oath to Bhaal in the process. Barring that, they're trying their best to keep Taliyah alive.
The Emperor takes the form of a personified idea of Bhaal to them, trying to use their preexisting feelings of religious guilt (they owed Bhaal practically everything in their life before the tadpole, and they went against his will. Shouldn't they at least try to redeem themself and obey if they truly believe this is the Lord of Murder speaking to them?) to try and pressure them into obedience.
In Game:
They end up in a romantic relationship with Astarion where neither of them has any romantic feelings for each other until like... Moonrise and they both are using each other. Astarion sees them as a possible protector who is very good at killing things, has an extremely flexible moral compass, and doesn't bat an eye knowing that he's a vampire. Amanita sees them as a good killer, who could easily turn into a liability if not accounted for who's loyalty can be easily bought with blood. They both are entirely certain that they will not get attached right up until they actually do, and the realization is upsetting for both of them.
Post-Durge Revelation their relationship with all their companions is significantly strained, because not only were they indirectly involved in the Absolute Plot through Taliyah, but unlike Taliyah, they had known the whole time and never said or did anything about it. This turns into an argument, and the next morning, they're gone. The group assumes that they left because of the fight and continues on as normal.
They in fact, did not leave of their own volition, and were instead kidnapped by Orin, a way to deal with the traitor and have a hostage to use against her bloodkin, all in one go. (Gameplay wise, obviously this cannot happen. Narratively it does because it's way more interesting than having someone at camp get yoinked). At this point they have one of their hands removed by Orin as a way to deface the Bhaalist tattoo around their wrist.
