Zayn swallowed hard, trying to force down the bile rising in his throat, to control the furious way his head was spinning. His heart was pounding in his chest, ready to implode and he didn’t know what to do with the feeling weighing him down inside. It was the type of pain he had hoped he would never experience again; being utterly fucking crushed and his legs wouldn’t move, freezing in his spot as he stared at the door and listened to the all too familiar voice calling out for him in a seemingly desperate attempt to catch his attention. They didn’t have seen each other since— since; he whimpered, sweater paws coming up to furiously wipe at his eyes before he stepped forward and opened the barrier separating him from his best friend with shaking fingers, just wide enough to give him room to come in and at the same time shielding himself from the photographers surrounding his property like vultures.
He looked around the house, making sure there was a way to even go in, knowing Zayn wasn’t about to let people in. It’s been far too long since he's seen his best friend in his opinion. A small part of him hated it, and the other part made him feel like it was his fault, he does push him away. All out of fear for what people could think of him. His head shook a he knocked on the door, wishing he would open the door. His lower lip was caught between his teeth as the door suddenly opened and his gaze met Zayn's. Taking one step inside, his eyes moved to how Zayn really looked and sighed. "You look depressed, love." He mentioned closing the door and moving closer, having a need to be close to him.
