Showing Up At Your Door | Tyler & Parker
Parker hummed gently to the man as he returned the hug, his hand running slow circles over Tylerâs back. What he wouldnât give to beat the living shit out of the man who had hurt Tyler so badly. He placed a light kiss to the top of Tylerâs head and fought back a yawn. He could sleep later. Tyler needed a friend right now. The man was in a world of pain and Parker was at a complete loss of how to fix this.
âTyler, breathe. Just breathe, love. Calm down, yeah?â he murmured soothingly into the manâs ear as he gently rocked back and forth. He didnât really know how to help the guy, because he didnât know exactly what was wrong, so he figured just comforting him was probably a good route.
"Calm down."
Tyler echoed the words, his chuckle slightly deranged. His nails really dug into Parker for a moment, really wanted to hurt him before he pushed violently out of the other man's arms. For the first time in his natural born life, he was flexing his hands, actually considering physical harm. But he closed his eyes and reminded himself that it wasn't Parker's fault. Parker was truly trying to help - no one was paying him to be comforting; he obviously wasn't serving his own reputation by trying to keep Tyler from acting foolish. No, it was Tyler who was embarrassing himself. He was being a terrible guest, and it just added fuel to his own bitter and broken fires.Â
Tyler swiped at his tears and turned his back to Parker, taking a deep breath. "I went to the hospital for alcohol poisoning a few weeks ago. I have never had so much liquor in my entire life and I wish I could regret it, but I don't. The only thing I regret is waking up and having to stay in a glorified rehab where everyone kept reminding me that there was something wrong."
Tyler's voice was hoarse and breaking, his head cradled in his hands. Just talking about it seemed to slowly twist the knife already buried deep in his heart. New tears flooded his eyes and he let out a pathetic sob.Â
"My-" Tyler shuddered as another sob wracked him. He didn't even know what to call him anymore. Friend? Lover? A friend wouldn't hurt him so badly. A lover would be here with him. Tyler attempted to compose himself, but he wondered if Parker could even understand the words, let alone the magnitude of his heartache. "I loved this man so much and he married someone else. So excuse me if I can't just reset myself to calm."Â
