i think religion’s main purpose is to trick people into thinking they matter so they don’t try to change or fix the world for the better. Because why fix global warming if youre just gonna go to heaven? why help a dying child if they’re going to heaven? It devalues real life. The actual beautiful thing about dying is that you never exist again. And you get to be food for all the little creatures that make the real world exist. There is no afterlife and no god only a series of meaningless feel-good slop stories meant to make you feel better about being a piece of shit who never actually helped the world in any meaningful way and then died and was gone and forgotten forever.
