"Andrew and his family are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. In the last few years, his family has seen tragedy. His son, and third child, Seth, was diagnosed with dyskeratosis congenita, a very rare disorder, which keeps those affected from digesting properly. To treat this, their eldest son, Joseph, donated bone marrow to Seth for a transplant. â
âUnfortunately, Seth passed away three years ago, due to this disorder. Their youngest daughter, Eliza, who will be 2 years old on November 12th, 2014, has been diagnosed with the same disorder. Their eldest daughter, Grace, has now donated bone marrow twice for Eliza. These transplants cost a great deal, physically, emotionally, and financially for the family. The treatment center for Seth and Eliza is in Cincinnati, so they spend quite a bit of money on gas to and from the hospital, not to mention the time spent away from each other.â
âAndrew's wife stays with Eliza in Cincinnati, while Andrew works in Herculaneum, MO and takes care of their two oldest children, who are in elementary school. Andrew is the sole provider for his family and is one of the best teachers at Herculaneum High School. With all of this going on, he still manages to make time for his students. I can think of no one who would be more deserving of your generosity.â
Andrew Miller is one of the kindest teachers you would ever meet. Even though his heart must be breaking he still cares about his students, and teaches us lessons far beyond foreign languages. Please, please share this!
