i keep seeing shit about pregnancy being body horror on twitter all day what the??

look i understand that people want to have children despite me not understanding the appeal. and im not gonna judge if someone decides to have children. i accidentally got into a rabbit hole about that a week ago.and like. no, theres genuine fears about labor and pregnancy in general. miscarriages or complications that can hurt (tearing of the uterus to name one) or kill the person. so, yeah i can also understand calling it scary or body horror because the chance of labor killing you is not zero.

and thats ignoring the child aspect. fuck i was a premature birth and i can only imagine the terror my mom felt for the two months i had to stay in the hospital - possibly worrying if i'll ever make it.

real. i think the problem is when people downplay/ignore the risks that can happen in situations like because it just causes more stress and areas for mistake. in a similar note, its like how discussing the risks involved sex and explaining ways to make it safer is more beneficial than the 'sex is bad'/abstinence attitude. simply, education is necessary for stuff like pregnancies/periods/sex as well as stopping the expectation that having children should happen for everyone.
