Every word that fell from Ericâs mouth was like acid against his skin. Every sentence that he strung together about him being attention seeking, about him being pathetic, about him feeling bad for him⊠it was like one punch in the gut after another. âThatâs not what it⊠Thatâs not how it was, IâEricâit wasnât about the attention,â he managed to get out, but before he could really get anything more out Tyson was surging forward and suddenly he was knocked on his ass before he could speak any further. And damn, was that a fucking sucker punch. It must have collided directly with his eye and then his nose, because the latter was bleeding and he couldnât tell if there was a cut above his eye but he could already feel it swelling, throbbing as it was. His gut throbbed with absolute hurt and he found himself tugging his knees up to his chest as he scooted back to lean against the drawers of his vanity, tears now leaking from the corners of his eyes but not to the extreme quite yet. He ignored the metallic taste of blood in his mouth and covered his head with his hands, shaking it. âI do love you both⊠I do. I donât know what else you want me to say, but itâs true. Everything Iâve said is true.â He looked back up at them both, bloody and pathetic, face now wet. âPlease, believe me.â
Eric just stared at everything that was happening with a blank look on his face, like he was just completely distanced from everything that was happening. This wasnât happening, this wasnât real, this couldnât be happening. Heâd close his eyes and heâd be back at Bashâs place, and Bash would be lying beside him and theyâd be smiling and Bash would look at him with that look in his eyes and heâd tell him he loved him and everything would fall together. Leaning back against the wall, he put his face in his hands. This was too eerily reminiscent of scenes from his past that he wasnât quite ready to delve into. âFuckâŠâ Was all he could say at the moment, averting his eyes, his anxiety spiking.
There was a weight weighing Tyson down at this point and all he could think was that he desperately needed to get out of there. He needed to get away from Sebastian and away from the mess that his relationship had turned into. He needed a stiff drink and something that would make him forget his own name as well as Bashâs. âEnjoy the rest of your life,â he grumbled, rubbing his bruised knuckles as he exited the dressing room and tried his best not to fall apart as he went.
