Domestic Bliss ~

Zane didn’t cook often, but at some point he’d picked up better than run-of-the-mill cooking skills and was generally willing to fix up a quick dinner if they were too wiped after work to go out. After foraging through Ty’s refrigerator, cabinets, and pantry, he’d come up with barbecue pork chops, green beans, a piece of a loaf of asiago bread from the bakery down the street, and now he was making mashed potatoes. From scratch, which tickled Ty to no end. It seemed such a domestic task for his tough-guy partner.

He didn’t know if it was because he’d just missed Zane so much, but he was pretty sure Zane had grown even more attractive while he’d been deployed. The sprinkling of silver in the hair at his temples had increased, and the light in his eyes was there more often than not. He’d slimmed down, losing a little of the bulk in his muscles, but he was still trim, and his suits seemed to fit just a little better than they had. There was a weightlessness to him now as well that hadn’t been there before, like the burden of his past had finally been shed. Not lifted, no. No one had lifted Zane’s burden for him; he had shed it himself, like a caterpillar unfolding its wings to become a butterfly.

Zane leaned against the door frame and just watched. While the dark ocean was gorgeous in the crisp December air, it was Ty who held his attention. Zane didn’t even want a cigarette, which was a normal craving that hit him courtesy of fresh air and stress. Ty was distracting like that, diverting in thought, word, and deed for better or for worse, and that had made it easier for Zane to altogether quit smoking—again—a few weeks ago. Zane sighed silently. For better or for worse. Being “married” again was making him… sappy.

I’m in multiple servers and they’re very easy to navigate, although it takes a bit of getting used to. You also don’t need to download an app for Discord, although you can. You can use Discord right in your browser! Neato!)

I’ve only just created the server so it currently has a single text channel. If it takes off, and as people join, I can create more that are tailored to specific things: a channel just for Tyzane musings, a channel for fic links, maybe even an RP room if anyone really wanted that. Anything is possible!

If you’re interested, all you need to do is make an account with Discord, then send me an ask on tumblr telling me your Discord ID. (Hint: it’s whatever username you want, then a pound (#) and four random digits that Discord provides.) I’ll send you the link to join the server, and once you’ve been added, reblog this post so that more people will see it.

Discord is great because you can turn off notifications for anything you don’t care about - if you’re a Tyzane shipper and you couldn’t care less about any other ships, we can make a channel just for them. Discord is easy to use once you figure it out; it can be a bit cumbersome at first, but it only gets easier.
