AN: This is my first Fast and furious fic so be gentle with me
You hadn't intended on falling for the man. It just happened, and quite literally too.
You would go to races as often as you could, marvelling at all that surrounded you. The life that you lived for, wanted. You could drive, and very well at that, but you didn't have a car and couldn't afford one. The job you had was barely enough to pay bills, but you still dreamt of everything you couldn't have as you watched cars race by.
The smell of smoke when a car’s tires would burn as it drifted on the tarmac. The sound of engines roaring, machines alive and wild as they revved. You wanted this life. One on the edge, the adrenaline rush of it all giving you something to look forward to.
It was at one of these races that you had met him. Blonde, blue eyed, fairy tale prince worthy; Brian O'Connor.
With the many people pushing forward to see Dominic Toretto and his crew, you were stumbling, a small body against the many, being pulled along with them as they pulled up. Busy keeping track of your feet the noise of the cars, music and cheering was almost too much and before you knew it, you'd tripped. Tumbling forward you were out of the crowd but not in the way you wanted to be. Almost regaining your balance, you thought you'd saved yourself from embarrassment but one final shove from a stranger sent you flying again, out toward the ground.
The rough surface scraped your knees and hands, your bare arms copping some cuts as you landed on your side with a smack. A string of "ohhhs!" Rang from the crowd and without looking up you flipped them off.
Pushing yourself up from the ground you could feel the warmth of a hand on your arm. It was the hand of a man, palm soft but fingertips calloused from hard work. You shrugged them off as they tried to help you, running your fingers over your scraped hands as you made your way back to the crowd. Some people looked at you, but most had moved on, eyes fixed to the cars and drivers before them. Staying in the front row looking from person to person you spotted Dominic Toretto, smile wide with a girl on his arm. You knew her too. Letty Ortiz, Dominic's girl. And then there was him. Staring straight back at you, someone you hadn't seen before. Blonde, handsome and looking your way.
It shocked you when he mouthed words and you turned, looking to either side of you for someone that might know him. When you looked back, he was smiling. It was a beautiful smile directed your way and he mouthed the words again. This time you caught them.
'Are you okay?'
You pointed to yourself still unsure and he nodded, the amused grin still on his lips. He was talking to you. Sending him a thumbs up you were careful not to let your fingertips press against the cuts on your palms, trying to smile back through your embarrassment. He mouthed something you couldn't read before his attention was turned to a hand on his shoulder. Dominic Toretto was by his side whispering words into his ear. You wondered what they were.

Not long after that, the races begun. Bets were being thrown around for who would win, cash going all over the place. You wish you had that kind of money to spare. If you could pull a hundred out of your pocket it would be a miracle. The people always went insane when the races started up, the revving of the engines excited everybody, you included. Two cars were pulled up next to each other, a sign that a race was ready to begin, and you turned to the man next to you. You recognized the red car from a race a month before but the Gray and blue skyline wasn't one you remembered seeing. Tapping the man on the shoulder you asked him who was inside.
"Someone called O'Connor. He's one of Toretto's boys" The voice was gruff and well suited for the man as he turned his attention back to the race now beginning. You did the same.
The cars roared as they raced down the road, the smell of burning rubber filling your senses as people shouted encouragement knowing full well, the drivers couldn't hear them over their engines. It didn't matter. It was the spirit in the people here that you loved too. How passionate they were about street racing, just like you. You cheered as well and soon the cars came back around, nearing the finish line. The red Camaro was in the lead, but you knew they wouldn't win. The driver in the Skyline waited a few seconds and he seemed too far behind, but you knew he had something under that hood. He was one of Toretto's boys. How could he not?
There was a loud revving and the skyline sped up, passing its opponent, and leaving a trail of smoke in its wake. Everyone rallied as the car drifted over the finish line and people handed their money around. You moved forward clapping as the driver got out of his car. It was him again.
People clapped him on the back, and he smiled brightly at all of them, shaking their hands and bumping their fists. Toretto's crew came up behind him too, giving him playful shoves. His eyes scanned the crowd as he took in the applause and you wondered how that must feel. To win a race. To have people cheer for you like some kind of hero.
And then it happened. Those blue eyes on yours again bringing you in and asking you a million questions with just one look. You smiled at him and let out a loud "whoop" to which he smiled brighter.

The night dragged on further with more races and more betting. Each race was different from the next and you didn't want to miss a thing but, as a figure walked up beside you, hands in his pockets watching the race, you knew distractions were in store.
"You race good!" You shouted over the roar of the engines, still watching the cars in front of you whilst you spoke. His body shifted as he shouted back "Thanks".
There was a silence between the two of you as the cars came over the finish line and you yelled out praise loudly to the winner. You couldn't see it but the man beside you smiled. When the noise died down you turned to face him.
"So, you just going to stand there, or are you going to say something?"
He let out a chuckle before nodding his head in the direction away from the crowd. It was weird to say you had no hesitation in following as you walked with him toward his car, but in truth you didn't. There was something trustworthy about him, in his eyes. You watched him closely as he approached the car and lent against it, so comfortable and calm before you slowly you circled the vehicle, taking in every part of it and looking back up to the blonde.
"She's pretty".
He nodded in agreement "Yeah she's a-"
Cutting him off you smirked "Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Yeah, I know"
He seemed shocked but laughed it off as he watched you inspect his car with interest. "You know your stuff".
You raised your eyebrows still checking his car, crouching, and observing the wheels as he observed you. "More than just a pretty face I guess".
Straightening up you locked eyes with the blonde again. The hair, eyes, smile. He was cute to say the least and you had to resist the urge to stare. He was looking at you too, but you couldn't decipher what he was thinking. There were so many things that could be running through that pretty blonde brain and you tried to avoid the thought of him judging you.
"So, where's your ride?" His voice was sweet like honey. A sound you would love to hear every day.
"I don't have one" You admitted feeling embarrassment creep through your body as the words left your mouth. Biting your lip, you took your gaze away from him, looking back to his car longingly once again in the hopes he didn't see how much the statement affected you. Everything in you begged him not to ask why but without words it wasn't that simple and soon, the question left his lips.
"Why not?"
Pressing your lips together tightly your heart ached at the truthful answer you thought over telling him. Maybe a lie would work best but then again what was the point?
"Can't afford one" You muttered, running your hands over the roof of his car. It was smooth to the touch and cool in the night air.
"What's your name?"
His question startled you, having not been ready for such a quick change in topic. You thought the conversation over your lack of vehicle would have gone on longer, but you were grateful it didn’t, and you had a suspicion he knew that.
Looking up at him you extended a hand "Y/N Y/L/N".
The blonde grasped your hand with a smile "Brian O'Connor"

There was something about you that Interested Brian. He liked the way you talked, the way you acted, the way you brushed yourself off after falling out of a crowd. He liked how you would get confused every time he looked at you, as if he should be looking at someone else. You were smart and he liked that too. What it was about you that had drawn him your way was the one thing he couldn't figure out, but he was glad that little magnet whatever it was, had done just that.

You spoke for a while, leaning against his car as the night grew colder. The both of you laughed over little things and you kicked the gravel at your feet, seeing how far you could make the small rocks fly. You took turns in naming cars you wished you could own and things you wished you could do. Until the sirens came.
People began shouting, rushing to their cars as the police sirens grew louder and you cursed scattering with the rest of them until a car pulled up beside you. It was Brian.
"Get in"
"No, it's okay" You scanned your eyes around the surrounding area for an escape and Brian honked his car horn. You jumped at the sound and turned back to him.
"Get in".

As soon as you were in the car Brian sped off, eyes focused on the road ahead. He knew the risks of waiting for you and Dom would probably scold him later for it, but he couldn't leave you alone without a car or form of escape.
The time you'd spent arguing had given the cops an advantage, many of them already in attempts to block your way out. You felt a sudden wave of panic for putting Brian in this situation, but he didn't seem to see it as a problem, not slowing down at all as he raced toward the patrol cars. He swerved between them without a second thought, shifting gears faster than you could register and leaving the officers in the dust.
You couldn't help the whoops and cheers that your left lips as Brian turned the corner, cops off your tail for good. It was thrilling and hard to describe, a warmth filling your body as you drove down the street with the blonde by your side. Looking over with a laugh you saw a grin plastered on Brian's face and had no doubt the same look was on yours.
"Go faster!" You urged still laughing as you tapped on his seat like a child unable to contain your excitement. He didn't seem to mind and obliged, a chuckle leaving his lips as you cheered for him. You laughed some more, and he laughed with you as you raced down the street together.

"Eyes on the road speedster" You teased as you caught the blondes gaze on you in the rear-view mirror. He couldn't help but stare, you intrigued him, and as you took your eyes away from his, he was watching you again.
"Pull over here" you pointed to the side of the road and he obeyed, the thrill of the night still glimmering behind his eyes as you thanked him. He didn't seem to grasp the meaning of your thanks, until you reached for the door and it hit him that you were leaving. "Wait, where are you going?" His voice filled with question made you turn, just slightly as you opened the door.
"Home. I can walk from here". He grabbed your arm, and you recognized the touch, smiling just a little as you twisted around, eyes on the blonde.
"You were the one that tried to help me up, weren't you?" You asked and his chest lifted as he tried to suppress a laugh. "Yeah, I thought you knew that".
Shaking his response off you opened the door and stepped out, his words following you as you did "You sure you don't want a ride?".
"Yeah, I just met you, you could be a serial killer for all I know. I'm not showing you where I live".
He laughed at that; a sound so genuine it sparked something inside you "A friend once told me something similar".
You frowned leaning in the car window "That's not comforting at all".
"Don't worry, if I were to kill you, I'd do it on the third date" He grinned hands on the wheel and your heart skipped a beat.
"So, this was a date?"
"If you say so"
Rolling your eyes, you waved to him, stepping away from the car.
"Bye Brian".
You took no more than three steps after you turned away from him and his ride before stopping. He'd done something to you. To your heart. Maybe it was just the way he looked like price charming or maybe it was more. His voice. The way he spoke to you like you were more than just an object to hang off his arm. He was kinder than most you'd met. Maybe he was just trying to butter you up, and if he was it was working because you spun on your heel and made your way back to the car.
Brian hadn't expected you to come back, but he didn't drive off right away. He watched you pause in the street and he watched you turn and make your way back to him. Opening the passenger side door, you leant in, knee on the passenger seat and kissed him on the cheek.
It was sudden and short, but Brian enjoyed it nonetheless before you got out and closed the door, tapping the side of the skyline with your palm. "Take care of this beauty".
He simply nodded a smile tugging at his lips as you walked off into the dark of the street.

When Brian made it back to Dom's he sat in his car, reminiscing the events of the night. How simple everything had been. Like hanging out with an old friend despite not knowing more than the casual conversations you'd shared had offered him. Opening the driver’s side door, he stepped out into the cool night air, a gust of wind catching a small piece of paper and blowing it out of his car. Catching it mid-flight he looked down at the paper, slightly crumpled from his tight grasp on it. Small writing in dark ink held the words:

Bucky wasn’t a man of many words.
And you noticed that fairly quickly. In fact, it was one of the first things you noticed about him when you first joined the team. Quiet, reserved, gentle Bucky Barnes wasn’t a man of many words.
But his eyes spoke volumes.
“You don’t talk much, do you?”
His gaze fell, “Not much to say.”
“I find that hard to believe.”
And you pushed him a lot to do so. Always asked him about the 40s and what he was like. You remembered asking if he was just as quiet then as he was now and Steve laughed from across the room saying, “You’re kidding right, Y/N? Buck was a real smooth talker.”
So, you teased him about that often. He didn’t like it, always said something about not being that guy anymore.
You reminded him that he could be any guy he wanted.
So, yeah, Bucky wasn’t a man of many words, but you two got close.
“I know you stole the remote, Buck.”
He circled around the kitchen counter, walking away from you.
“Is it because you don’t want to watch that Disney movie with me? I know you secretly like it and —“
“I don’t have the remote, Y/N.”
“Oh, yeah? Then what’s that hanging out of your pocket?”
You saw that little grin form on his face and you hurried forward and grabbed it before he could say another word.
He chased after you.
Then there were those times where he did thoughtful little things. Where he let his heart show through that thick wall of his and it made you realize just how much he spoke without speaking.
“Did you guys drink all the coffee again? Really? Does no one —“
Bucky handed you a cup.
“Two sugars, right?”
“Yeah and —“
“A dash of cream.”
That was until he added salt into your coffee one morning.
“We ran out of sugar!” he defended.
“So you added salt? Buck, that’s —“ you eyed him. “You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”
He took a sip of his coffee.
“Oh, you’re getting brave. I can —“
You grabbed his coffee and headed straight for your room.
He chased after you again.
So, yeah you two got close.
Bucky wasn’t a man of many words, but you two still got close.
He never let his walls down completely though. Never enough to let you know what he was feeling anyway, if he was hurt. It didn’t bother you so much until you realized he was always hurt, always hurting and that stung a little too much.
“Buck…can you let me in? Please?”
“We can talk tomorrow, Y/N.”
You sighed, standing outside his door.
“I don’t wanna talk tomorrow. I wanna…we don’t have to talk at all, Buck. I just wanna be with you right now.”
No response.
“Please?”
You’ll want to talk anyway, you practically heard and you sighed because it was true.
You knew you’d ask him a bunch of questions and Steve already told you — he already told you that Bucky liked his space. That he got distant sometimes when the world got too much or people got too much for him. Sometimes his mind got too much and Bucky wanted a break. You slid down against his door and sat there for ten minutes hoping for a change of heart.
You weren’t leaving though.
“Hey, Buck, how about this?”
You continued when he didn’t respond. You knew he was listening.
“How about we create a system? One that doesn’t involve you talking or me asking. It can just be...our thing. It can our thing, Buck.”
Nothing.
“And we don’t have to do it all the time. Just when we need to. When I need to know things and you don’t feel like giving. Think you’ve already given too much, don’t ya think?”
Nothing again.
You sighed.
But then you heard the door open and you fell back a little. Bucky looked down at you, what system? his eyes read and you patted the ground in front of you, signaling for him to sit.
He sat.
“Okay so, two taps anywhere like this,” you pressed your fingers against the back of his hand twice. “Means you’re okay. That you’re fine. Three taps, however,” you pressed three times against his skin. “Means you’re not. That you’re not okay.”
He stared at your hands.
“And I don’t have to explain why?”
“Never, Buck. Not unless you want to.”
You tapped him four times.
“What’s that?”
“Four taps means you miss me.”
Bucky got up.
“Aw, c’mon Buck. Humor me a little!”
You didn’t miss the little grin on his face.
Somehow you thought he’d give you two taps just for that comment.
Bucky wasn’t a man of many words, so he liked the system.
He first used it three days after it was created.
He’d woken up and strolled in for his first cup of coffee. Wasn’t the least bit surprised when he found you already there, cup ready in hand with eggs to match because coffee isn’t breakfast, Buck. He’d usually argue about it. Coffee’s the only breakfast, he’d say, but he didn’t have that in him today.
Maybe it was because he hadn’t come out of his room in three days. Or maybe it was because you hadn’t said anything to him yet, but Bucky didn’t argue. He just found himself tapping your hand twice when he reached for the cup.
You grinned.
Bucky liked that.
And you found that was the one he used the most.
Two taps.
Two taps whenever he went off to bed. Two taps when you played that Godforsaken Disney movie for the 5th time that week. Two taps when Thor made some stupid comment about wars during dinner one night.
It was two taps.
Always two taps.
So you were more than a little surprised when your first three taps came.
It was right after a mission. A long one. One that Steve had gotten hurt on because Bucky hadn’t gotten there fast enough. It wasn’t his fault though. Wasn’t anyone’s fault because everyone was too preoccupied with the bad guys at hand to notice the knife coming for Steve’s left side. Bucky took the blame though. Beat himself up about till he got into the jet.
The words were on the tip of your tongue, are you okay? You wanted to say it. Wanted everyone to say it because how could they not notice?
You didn’t though.
Instead you sat next to him and waited for him to say something, anything. At some point, you felt yourself giving up and drifting off until you felt his hand on your thigh.
He squeezed it three times.
You rested your head on his shoulder.
Then there was that time you left for six days. Fury had you and Natasha assigned to some undercover mission in London for the next six days. It took the whole six days, while the boys jetted off to New Orleans to deal with some asshole causing a ruckus in the city.
They came back in two.
“Buck!” you shouted, waking through the compound and dropping your bag at the front door.
“Buck, I’m back! Where are —“ you grinned, finding him resting at the bar stool in the kitchen. He was reading some file and you dropped your head onto his shoulder from behind.
“Hey, Buck. Miss me?”
He stopped.
“No? Ouch, well, I missed you,” you turned your head, kissing his cheek. “Look, I even brought you back a keychain. Nothing fancy. Just has a cat waving the British flag and when I saw it, I thought of you. The cat looks grumpy.”
Bucky didn’t say anything and you removed your head from his shoulder. He must be really into the file, you thought and you didn’t want to bother him so you left the keychain on the table and turned around to head to your room.
Bucky grabbed you and tapped your waist four times.
You launched yourself at him and covered his face with a series of kisses. Everywhere. Anywhere you could reach and each one was followed by a string of I knew it, I knew it, I knew it’s.
Bucky never wanted to use the four taps again.
Except he did. All the time.
Bucky wasn’t a man of many words, but he thinks he was starting to fall for you.
Because he did four taps whenever you left the room for too long. And when Steve briefed them for too long that one time about some mission, Bucky found himself tapping your leg four times even though you were right there.
Right there. You were right there.
He even recalled nudging his nose against yours four times when you fell asleep on him during that damn Disney movie the previous week.
“Miss you,” he mumbled.
But it was okay because when you woke up the next morning, you nudged your nose against his cheek four times.
Bucky woke up with a bright gleam in his eyes.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“Missed you, obviously.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, Buck.”
And then there came a time where Bucky decided he wanted to create a new one. A new tap.
Bucky wasn’t a man of many words, but he knows he finally found love.
“Sweetheart, damn, can you slow —“
Because you were stuffing popcorn in his mouth. You were laying in front of him, in between him to be more exact, and throwing popcorn behind like it was nothing.
Most of it didn’t even make it into his mouth.
“Shh, this is the best part.”
“You say that everytime. We’ve seen this movie a —“
“Shh, Buck!”
Bucky laughed and pulled you up so you were closer to his chest. It wasn’t anything special that made him realize it. Thinks it was the familiarly and the comfortability that made him put the pieces together, but Bucky leaned down and pressed his lips against your hair three times. Just three and that was enough for you to tear your eyes away from the screen and look up at him.
“Buck?”
He didn’t say anything.
“Did I throw too much popcorn again? You know I get excited when Lucifer gets on screen. He reminds me so much of —“
Bucky tightened his arm around you and tapped his thumb against your stomach once.
You knitted your brows.
“One? Buck, one doesn’t mean anything. We don’t have —“
“One means I love you.”
“What?”
“One tap means I love you. It means I love you, Y/N.”
It took a few seconds for your brain to register but once it did you jumped up in his lap and turned to face him. Bucky's sure the popcorn bowl had spilled all over the floor, but he didn’t care. Not when his girl looked at him like that and leaned in to kiss him like that too. So fiercely and full of love.
“Okay, okay, baby! I said one tap.”
“One tap gets you a million kisses each time.”
“Mhm. I’m okay with that.”
You giggled, I know you are, you mumbled against him and kissed him a little harder. He felt brighter, more happy and he knew he wasn’t one to say much, but his eyes always did and that was enough for you to pull back for a quick second before leaning in to give him one, long, seething kiss.
One kiss.
And at that moment, Bucky knew the kind of guy he wanted to be.
Summary: You have a family dinner and need a fake boyfriend. Sam suggests you ask Bucky but things don’t go as planned.

It was the fifth time it rang. You exasperatedly screamed against your pillow, wishing your mother would take the hint, and stop calling you. You knew the words that would leave the woman’s mouth the minute you picked the phone, and you refused to hear them again.
Your sister had gotten married last year, and now she and her husband were expecting their first child. But the thing is, that was your younger sister, and for your mother it was a dishonor that her younger child was married and expecting while the older one was still single.
She always found a way to stick a finger in the wound and ridicule you in front of your entire family. You loved your sister, and you were happy for her, but you refused to go to the dinner she and her husband had organized only to be your mother’s punching bag.

I am angry. I am disgusted. I am mad. Enraged. Pissed off. Furious. But I am no surprised, the US is a horrible place. And I LIVE here. I am ashamed to be an American citizen.
Please use your voice to help those who don’t have one. There is no reason to perform these experiments on helpless cats and kittens.
So a little update on me. Since COVID-19 hit the US earlier this year, I have been struggling a bit to make some payments because I have been unemployed since early March, since I worked for a small business that couldn’t afford to keep my shift anymore. I was not eligible for unemployment, and haven’t been able to find work since. I am a Type 1 Diabetic, so I have been doing my best to find a job that won’t put me at too much risk, but it has been hard. I’ve applied to a ton of jobs, but either am not qualified or I just never hear back from the companies. I am still looking for something, but as the months pass, it is getting a little more difficult to pay certain bills. (And the home situation is getting a bit more stressful everyday that I struggle to find work.)
A few months ago I created a “Digital Tip Jar” for my photography. (Now its become a bit more than that, with my work situation.) The reason I originally created it is because I am not a paid hockey photographer. I do not get paid in any way for the hockey photos that I post for you guys. (I would always pay for all the games I went to. But I love doing it and being able to share them with you guys)

Only for her to turn him down, leaving him heartbroken and confused.

When you first joined intelligence, you kept to yourself. You knew how that unit was, people coming and going almost weekly.You didn’t see the point in getting to know people you felt wouldn’t like you. You were used to it though, having grown up an air force brat. On Fridays when the rest of intelligence went to Molly’s, you were sat home on your couch with a book while music played in the background.
