His grip loosened then, not all at once, but you were now able to turn. His hand slid slightly along your waist as you shifted to face him, but you didn’t step away from it.
There was barely any space between you two, so close that you could actually take him in properly. You noticed the way his hair fell slightly out of place, and the subtle curve of his mouth that was holding back a smile. You admired the way his eyes lingered on you just a second longer than necessary.
“Didn’t mean to invade your space like that, just thought you might needed a hand,” He explained himself, edged with something that sounded amused.
A small breath of a laugh slipped out of you. “No, thank you — I appreciate it.”
Your pulse picked up again, and you were suddenly very aware of how close he still was and of the way his hand hadn’t fully left you, resting lightly against your side.
“Do you always pretend to be strangers’ boyfriends, or am I just special?” You asked, tilting your head just slightly, trying to keep your voice steady.
That got a reaction. Something sweet settled into his expression and irmade your chest tighten.
“Depends,” He said, his voice dropping slightly. “You planning on needing me again tonight?”
Your breath caught at the question. “Maybe,” You admitted.
A quiet smile pulled at his lips, something almost satisfied in it. “Then I think your boyfriend should at least get you another drink.”
You raised a brow, a hint of a smile breaking through. “I think my boyfriend owes me his name first.”
He let out a soft laugh. “Fair.” His gaze still fixed on yours and he wasn’t in any hurry to look away. “Keeho.”
You repeated it with a small smile, giving your name in return.
Keeho leaned in slightly, closing what little space was left between you, his gaze holding yours. “Now… how about that drink?” He murmured, his grip at your waist tightening just enough to remind you it was still there.
You let out a quiet breath, a smile tugging at your lips despite yourself, your gaze staying locked on his. “By all means.”
His lips curved, something satisfied settling in his expression as a low laugh slipped out.
“Good answer.”

You felt like Saturday, the day of your date—you want to die—wasted no time in approaching, and your nerves had since skyrocketed. You’d been on dates before, sure. But for some reason, this particular one had you on edge and your mind on overdrive.
Where would he take you? Would he even put in the effort planning a date takes? Will you end up being disappointed? Maybe it’s good not to have high hopes in case of that happening—
“Can you get out of your head,” Yoonchae says with a sigh, interrupting the stream of thoughts that threatened to reclaim control.
“Yeah, of course.”
She shoots you a look. “You’re being sarcastic.”
“Of course I’m being sarcastic. I can’t just—I’m just nervous is all.”
“If you’d told yourself last week that you’d be going on a date with Hwang Intak.” Your friend giggles to herself, finding herself amusing.
“That is so not comforting.”
“I’m sorry. Has he… has he texted you? Given you a hint as to what you guys would be doing?”
Ah, one of the reasons why you were currently losing your mind! Intak hasn’t texted. Not since last night when he said, and you quote: “Can’t wait for tomorrow” and ended it off with a smiley face.
Hey, it let you know that he was still looking forward to it! That he meant what he asked, at least.
But Jesus Christ, you just wanted to know what you guys were doing in order to be as prepared as you could be.
“No,” you mumble under your breath. “It’s fine. I’m fine. Let me—”
Your phone pings.
You both stiffen, and with wide eyes and a quick glance at one another, you spring to life, reaching for the device.
Then, you halt. “I can’t. You read it.”
Confused by your words, Yoonchae frowns. Though her hands don’t stop reaching for it. “Why?”
“What if it’s him cancelling?”
She groans. “Okay, shut up.”
Setting down your blush, you glanced back at both Yoonchae and Sunoo—who’d arrived no less than twenty minutes ago (bless his heart)—as they laid out your outfit on your bed. The one you had all collectively agreed on when planning yesterday.
Sunoo clasps his hands together. “Okay! She’s ready.”
Oh, you were feeling sick. “I’m not.”
“Let’s hope that changes in…” he checks the time on his phone and hums, “twenty minutes! Up.”
“Does it look fine?”
He smiles softly at you. “Yes. I’m almost upset that it’s him taking you out on a date and not me.”
“Almost?” you question with a grin, tilting your head.
“Almost. Because I like that he’s taking you out.”
Your face falls. “Alright, don’t push it.”
With that, they leave you alone. Quite literally, too. Leaving the room and all, giving you the chance to be all by yourself.
Blowing out a breath, you waste no time in changing and adding any final touches. You don’t even realize your deadline was up when you hear your door being knocked on.
Your eyes widen. It was seven. On the dot.
Oh, God.
“Yoonchae?” you call out. It could be her! Maybe Intak was what he always was! Late.
“Guess again.” The sound of his voice was enough for your entire body to tense. Of course he’d decide to be the perfect gentlemen and show up on time. Just like he’s been the last couple of days. It shouldn’t come off as much of a surprise, and it wasn’t…
Not really.
This past week, you can tell he was different.
Which only made you want to smack your head off your mirror.
Grabbing your purse, you take one last look at your reflection, blow out a breath or two, and head for the door, wondering where the hell your friends were and why they weren’t here to see you off.
Okay. Hand on the knob, you twist and pull. The immediate sight of Intak standing before you only serving your heart to fall further into your ass.
“Hi,” you start, trying your utmost not to look too hard at him. Was he dressed date appropriately? Did he look good? You were too nervous to check. What if he thought you were checking him out? He’s already got an ego the size of everything ever.
Clearly that wasn’t the case for him.
His eyes drop unashamedly, scanning your attire from head to toe in a way that made you want to step back inside and lock him out.
“Hey,” Intak finally breathed, brown eyes meeting yours. “You look…”
You blink, hating the way Intak pauses. Making you wait. You can already feel the warmth making its way to your cheeks. This was so weird. Here you were, about to spend time with Intak, and not in the way you two have been as of lately. Suddenly, everything felt much too hot.
A small smile graces his features, bringing you back to reality. “You look beautiful.”
His words, filled with honesty, only make the flush harder to shove away, and with a quickly crumbling resolve, you cave. Your attention trails downwards. To his leather jacket that hugs his arms perfectly, the plain white shirt that barely peeks out from underneath, and lastly, his baggy jeans.
It was simple, but fuck. He looked really good.
Noticing the lack of eye contact, his smile is quick to take form of a smirk. “Anything for me?”
You snap your eyes to his. “You look okay.”
His expression brightens. “Yeah?”
“Yes,” you answer, taking a step toward him, officially out of your dorm room. “Okay.”
With a small nod, almost sensing that there was more to your words than you wanted to let on, especially with the way your eyes linger, Intak slowly leans forward—either oblivious or he just doesn’t care—of the way you stiffen almost instantly as he reaches behind you to shut the door.
Alright. He had to know what he was doing.
Once there’s a soft click, he hums lowly. “Ready?”
Relax. Relax. Just calm down. “Ready.”
Shortly after leaving, you wondered why you were so nervous in the first place.
It was going fine. More than, even.
The car ride to dinner wasn’t silent, or filled with any awkwardness. You felt comfortable. He opened the door for you, offered AUX, and spent the entirety of the drive making conversation you didn’t hesitate to return. You also realized something about Intak that you felt you should’ve known sooner.
That he talked a lot.
But that was good, because you didn’t; you listened. And if Yoonchae could see you right now, she’d inform you about how utterly perfect that was.
“Hey,” he starts, sparing you a quick glance before his gaze fixes back on the road, lips twitching into something playful. “I told you how beautiful you look tonight, right?”
Oh, Jesus Christ. “…yes.”
“Okay.” He hums. “You look beautiful.”
You want to die. Your cheeks—for what feels like the fifth time in the span of ten minutes—flush, and you let out a small sigh-slash-groan, head dropping.
A loud laugh leaves his mouth at your reaction. “What was that for?”
“You’re doing this on purpose.”
“Doing what on purpose?”
Lifting your head, you stare at him. “Intak.”
“What!” he exclaims, chuckling. “I’m not doing anything. What, I can’t call you beautiful?”
No. No, he couldn’t.
You felt like this would be a long night.
And it was.
But in the best way possible.
The restaurant was nothing short of amazing. The food was delicious, and you know how cliché this was going to sound, but the company was… better.
Conversation between the two of you flowed with so much ease, it shocked you. You were able to learn a lot more about him, and he you. However vague you might’ve been with some of your answers, he nodded vehemently. As if lodging your words somewhere inside his head. Saving it for later.
And he’d made no mistake in asking you follow-up questions, never once letting it die down, and when it did, it was exactly how it was in the car: Comfortable.
Slowly but surely, the end of dinner came as quickly as it began. In your eyes, at least.
The check was given and on instinct, you pulled out your wallet from your purse, about to take out your card when Intak asked, “what are you doing?”
You lift your head slowly. “What?”
His mouth quirks up slightly at your dumbfounded expression, though it quickly dissolves right back into confusion. One similar to yours. “What are you doing?”
“Taking out my card…?” you reply, blinking. “We’re splitting, aren’t we?”
Your response has his lips parting in surprise and his head tilting curiously. Yeah, you were convinced Keeho’s words would forever ring inside your mind because fuck, he did look like a puppy.
“Let me see it,” he says.
“See it.” You eye him, watching as he remains the same. “As in me give you my card.”
Intak nods. “Yes.”
“My card.”
He holds out a hand expectantly. “The rectangular shaped thing in your hand, yes. Give it.”
Ever-so-slowly, you extend your hand, watching as his, already in the air, reaches across the table. He takes your card, his fingers brushing against yours—entirely on purpose, by the way. Judging by the way your body tenses, you felt exactly what he did the instant his hand touched yours—and then he pulls back.
You cleared your throat, letting your hand fall to your lap. “Will I get it back?”
“Maybe when I drop you off, yeah?”
“Are we not—” your words die on your tongue when your waitress returns and Intak slips not your card, but his and his only, with the check and hands it over.
“Intak, I had no problem—”
He shakes his head and smiles at you, cutting you off. Thanking them when they hand him his card back before rising to his feet. “Let’s get out of here?”
Which is where you both found yourself currently. Back on campus, walking around, your purse dangling between his two fingers. When he first held out a hand for it, you were confused. Even more so when he slipped his hand through the handle and practically snatched it for himself.
You glance at his side profile for a split second, letting your attention trail over the scenery next.
Your university really was pretty at night.
A shiver wracks through your body when a gust of wind hits, causing you to hug yourself, the action not going unnoticed by the man beside you as he continued to talk, but slips off his jacket and drapes it over your shoulders, resuming as if that small action. The gesture. Didn’t just make you want to disappear right then and there. Still, you manage to mumble a small “thank you.”
Keep it cool. Keep it so cool. For all things good.
“Dancing,” you echoed his words, hoping your voice didn’t sound too high-pitched, still desperately trying to recover. He nods. “Since when?”
He chuckles under his breath. “Ever, really.”
“Tell me about it more next time,” you finish, looking over at him with a small smile tugging at your lips, the sight causing him to blank for just a second until he breaks out into a wide grin.
“Next time?” He tilts his head.
Oh.
Great. Awesome. Good going.
You scowl instantly and look away, which makes him laugh. “I can take you out again?” Intak asks after a beat, letting you take your purse back.
“Give me my card.” You hold out a hand, waiting.
He ignores you, his face having lit up. “I can have a second date?”
“Intak,” you groan, feeling your face redden. He doesn’t say anything, just reaches into his pocket and takes out his wallet. Then, just as he’s pulling your card out, you think he’ll simply drop it in your palm. Like anyone else would do, right?
Right. So why’s he acting like shit’s sweet and holding it above your head like a child.
Intak’s beaming now. “Can I have a second date?”
“Can we finish the first one?”
Raising a hand, you try to grab it; he lifts it higher and quirks a brow.
A second date.
Yeah, it’s something you wanted—that much was obvious. To you, at least. You came to that realization on the car ride back. When you felt your feelings for the man begin to solidify.
But who were you if not stubborn.
“Give it to me and I’ll consider it,” you say, and instantly, it’s in the palm of your hand.
As you reach the door’s leading into your residence hall, he opens it and allows you to walk in first. Then, in long strides, you watch as he passes you and whirls around, walking backwards towards the elevators.
“Are you done considering?” he questions when you stay quiet, pushing the button.
The doors open and you walk in. He doesn’t.
Pressing your floor number, you force a flat expression and sigh to yourself. “I suppose.” His eyes widen; you can’t help but smile at that. The doors to the elevator stay open. “I’d like a second date.”
“Yeah?” he replies, hating the way the doors begin to close, wanting just a little more time with you.
You nod. “Yeah.”
And just like that, you’re gone. You’re gone and you’ve just agreed to a second date, and he wasn’t even able to tell you how great the night has been for him. And he could only hope it was the same for you.
With his cheeks aching from smiling so much, he turns on his heel and makes his way out.

004: Decisions, Decisions.
Your walk to the studio was lively. It was Thursday night which usually marked the start of the weekend at SNU — music spilled from open windows, laughter carried down the sidewalks, and groups of friends lingered as if they had nowhere else to be.
Your hand adjusted the strap of your bag higher on your shoulder, fingers brushing the fabric absentmindedly while your mind drifted somewhere else entirely — counts, corrections, and the part of your choreography that refused to feel natural no matter how many times you ran it.
It looped in your head like it always does, and it tugged at you until you gave it the attention it wanted.. which was exactly why you were doing a late night practice.
The familiar building came into view, and as soon as you stepped inside, all the previous noise faded behind you.
The hallway stretched quietly, your footsteps the only thing breaking it, until a faint melody reached you through the walls. It was quiet but you were quick to realize it was something you’ve heard a million times as a ballerina.
You stop just short of the doorway of one of the practice rooms, peeking in just enough to catch their reflections in the mirrors that lined the walls. That’s when you spot Intak and Mina moving through their routine, one of them a little more graceful than the other.
You noticed Intak moving through it a step behind what it demanded, his turns a little too sharp while his transitions were noticeably rushed — but it wasn’t bad…
Matter of fact, he could probably fool a non dancer that ballet was his preferred technique if he tried a little harder.
His flow was smooth, and it was clear that his body was able to adjust mid-step, easily finding its way back into place the way it always does when he’s figuring something out.
You almost smile with how .. impressed you were.
Meanwhile, Mina moved with ease, every turn placed carefully, while each transition was smooth and controlled. She barely needed to check herself, just small adjustments here and there, but it was clear she already knew exactly who she was, and it was that girl!
For a moment, she was completely in her own world, focused on her reflection, and refining details Intak hadn’t even gotten to yet.
He noticed this and you could immediately see it in the way his focus shifts, and how he starts watching her instead of staying grounded in his own movement.
And that’s where it goes wrong.
His next step comes a fraction too early, his turn tightens too fast, and his foot landed just slightly off. It’s small, barely noticeable, but enough to throw everything out of rhythm.
He stumbles, catching himself a second too late, and a quiet laugh slips out of you before you can stop it. That’s so him.
Mina slows herself and she doesn't stop the music right away, her expression tightened for a second before she smoothed it over.
You watch as she quickly turned to him, one hand resting lightly against her hip as she exhaled. "Again — Try not to rush, okay?," She says softly, keeping her tone even. "You're still getting ahead of the count."
Intak nods quickly, already a little out of breath. "Yeah sorry, I just-"
"It's okay," She cuts in gently, though there's a slight edge now. "Just hold it longer and it’ll be good!”
He nods again, running a hand through his hair before they reset.
As they go again, Intak clearly took her critique into consideration, this time he makes it a little farther, but you can see the hesitation building. His shoulders tensed, and his timing slips again before he stumbles once more.
Mina doesn't react right away, but she stood there for a second, looking at their reflection before closing her eyes briefly as if she was collecting herself.
"It's just.." She starts, then stops, choosing her words. "I can tell you’re overthinking it." Her voice is still calm, but it's not as light anymore.
"You keep watching me," She adds, glancing at him properly this time but her tone was still sweet. "Don't do that. It's throwing you off ..”
Intak lets out a small breath, nodding again as he forced a smile. "Okay."
There's a beat where she looks like she might say more, but she swallows it. "..We'll go again," She says instead, already turning back toward the speaker.
He pushes through the next counts with more focus, trying to recover from his prior mistakes and attempting to match her again. He makes it even farther this time, holding onto the timing just enough to keep up.
Then they move into a lift. You recognize the move immediately from the countless times you’ve done it before. It's simple, but it needs control, steady footing, and trust. Mina steps into it without hesitation, clearly expecting it to work — And god, that was dangerous.
This is what happens when you’re a liar, Hwang Intak.
He was a second behind and he lifted her anyway. For a moment, it holds! His hands settle at her waist, as her body rises gracefully, but that was until his balance shifts…
He was quick to pull her back up, and it was clear nothing was working like it was supposed to.
They break apart as Mina stepped away first.
Intak runs a hand through his hair, already trying to recover. "I had it," He says, a little too quick. "I just-"
"You didn’t though…" Mina replies, her voice calm, but a little tighter now, and you could just hear the disappointment in her voice.
He nods immediately. "Yeah.. Im sorry, I just need to-"
"You can't hesitate like that," She continues, still composed, but the patience is thinner now.
Round of applause for your patience, Miss Mina Choi.
"If you're not steady, it throws everything off and honestly I could’ve seriously gotten hurt..." She pauses for a second, glancing at the clock before exhaling softly.
"We've been on the same part for the last hour," She adds, her tone still even, but there's no hiding the frustration underneath it. "I need you to trust it." She stepped a beat closer, reaching for his hand as if it was the ensure him she wasn’t too upset.
He just nods.
Your hand lifts slightly toward the door. You really could walk in and give him the guidance but that would expose the fact you were just stood there for god knows how long.
So you let your hand fall.
Instead, you step back, putting space between yourself and the doorway. You turn and walk the other way as the music begins once again behind you.
The sound faded the farther you got and by the time you pushed the exit open, the noise from outside rushes back in all at once.
You pause for half a second, adjusting your grip on your bag and exhale slowly.
You pull your phone out before you can think twice.

I’ve seen what you’ve all said and I thought that I should say something. Yes, I joked about Iran and a bomb being dropped and now after talking to some of my mutuals and friends, I realized it was an insensitive thing to say. I didn’t think of it in any way besides a few rumors of a possible bomb dropping on my state and how I have seen people online saying the same. I, in no way, wanted to seem like I’m invalidating this war and trying to make it seem like something it’s not, because it’s real and is going on actively, but my words got the better of me. I feel like in this world where everything is online, it's easy to get used to the atrocities happening around the globe, but unfortunately these atrocities are still going, and my jokes weren't appropriate. I appreciate those who are actually holding me accountable instead of the baseless hate that seems to be everywhere in this community lately.
That being said, I’m going on a hiatus for a little while. It’s a strange thing to wake up one morning and see hundreds of hate getting sent about you/to you and I don’t agree with it. Thank you to the people who took the time to get to know me and to my friends for helping me during this situation.
Once again, I’m sorry and I hope you can accept me back when my hiatus ends.
