DROP THE BEAT.
A’ight, I opened my old AIM account so if anyone’s up to leave a message to say you miss me or something —feel free to add me up. (HAH.) Late replies though, (because Haetypist’s gonna be somewhere in the wilderness with probably a bad Wi-fi connection and a pocketful of impatience) so you’re extra fucking lucky if you catch me during my breaks. Y’all know I am a very busy man. Introduce yourselves, okay? Shit, I gotta run.
AIM: same as the url! (Old man’s got no creativity.)
Hae out.
“Jae Hee.” She corrected him right away after only using half her name, they weren’t that close yet. Of course she needed to have her information set in the business, having to know who were the actually important people in a business filled with a variety of different characters and statuses. The people most useful for the group’s best interest were to be kept in mind. Due to the other keeping low and having left, Jae Hee had not had the chance to work on getting him on their side yet but at least she does not have to re-introduce herself anymore in case they met at a studio. On one side that was good and on the other it could not get worse. In no case ever was he allowed to find out that she was part of the mafia under a different name, especially not now that he knew her real one. This was a mess due to which her answer was a little delayed. “That, Donghae, is what I would define as good.” Giving him a side smirk it was obvious that she was pleasantly surprised by his supposed skills. “I’d say plain champagne but that would be boring. Make me a good Daiquiri and I’ll acknowledge you.”
"My bad." An inadvertent roll of his eyes gave a go over her snappy remark that ended with a long pause, which gave it more impact. She always knew when to bite back with those sudden remarks just when he was being friendly with her. He wondered if a part of her liked hearing her complete name better than shortening it out. 'Now that's a bit narcissistic,' he thinks with a teasing grin. It might not be that; it might be an entirely different reason. But that's one thing he was going to take note of from now on. "Jae Hee, Jae Hee, Jae Hee. Happy?"
"I'm more than good, I'm great at them." That smirk catches his eye from his periphery and he's sure they were back on track. "I can't wait to hear that acknowledgement. My ears are fucking ringing from excitement," he says with sarcasm, pulling over on one of the parking spots in front of the apartment complex. Being considerate over that situation she had back there at the mansion, he looked around, checking the side mirrors for any signs of suspicious vehicles that may have followed them on the way. "Do you think the coast's clear? Do you have like a stalker or something? I mean, I didn't want to pry, but since you're bound to go out again and be seen by the outside world–but what the fuck was that all about."
“Well… unless the place is haunted, then you probably were just hallucinating… ” she speaks rather dry and seriously, but it changes to a grin, soft breath of giggle proceeds as her shoulder shrugs, “I’m kidding– it was me, the halls must be that quiet for you to hear that, hm?” She looks up to the other, giving him room to come in and picks up the guitar again, making her way back to the stool. “I’m going to assume you’re not a guard, so I will stay here.”
It was something she was used to, however, speaking to strangers from time to time. She didn’t find it awkward at all that there was someone else in the room as she grew up with changing servants from day to day, rarely seeing her own family since they were always so ‘busy’. The soft strumming filling in the void as she stops– then starts playing again as if she was having intervals just incase he spoke.
In her mind, she probably didn’t need to introduce herself. Arrogant as it may sound, many people have come to know her father’s deeds, good and bad, that she may even be in the picture. She just needed to show her face and people just seem to know that this lady is the daughter of a rich man. But her kind morals speak otherwise, saying that she should be polite. “I’m sorry- I haven’t introduced myself, my name is Ch-” she stops halfway, self reminding that it was probably best not to lay out which family she came from. “Sooyoung.” she nods firmly, her formal tone being careful as she didn’t know who he was, maybe he’s older? Or younger? Maybe another new business partner, an under cover muckraker, a one-time friend? who knew?
“Do you usually roam around people’s places without permission too? because I do.”
Donghae wasn't fazed by the thought of ghosts roaming around him; he doesn't even think they exist. Ever since he was young, he never believed in such, believing they were as mythical as they could get. Even if his older brother would tease him, even if he's watched a dozen movies of suspenseful scenes and killer action that haunted most of his playmates' colorful imagination to induce bone-chilling nightmares over them.
"So it was you?" Soon enough, her actions revealed the answer as he entered the room with her. "You sound good, trust me," he says as a compliment, being it a means of gratitude that she let him be her sole audience this evening. He wonders if she was part of the orchestra for the charity event downstairs. But then again, those musicians weren't supposed to roam around because they still had that gala to play for over the course of tonight's dinner.
Unknowingly, the woman raced him to sparking introductions between them in the solemnity of this room they were in, causing him to smile in amusement. He already had his lips parted but she still raced him to it. "Donghae. My name's Donghae." He found a cozy corner, opting to sit there and have his back rest against the wall so he wouldn't look so stiff standing there in front of her. "I was looking for the exit, actually. Couldn't breathe in there. They all smell like money." He jokes, awaiting her reaction. "I mean, I love the free wine as much as any thirsty guy does, but I can't keep up with them. I left my friend back there to do all the talking since he's good at that. As for me... I’m content with just listening.”
It hurt more than Hyeon would let on, though he was sure his tone gave him away. How defensive and vulnerable he knew he sounded. Maybe it wasn’t a bad thing to be so open with how he felt, maybe it would affect the other more. “It was never trivial…” Hyeon sighed softly as he approached Donghae and continued to stare at him with a half lidded, soft gaze. People disappearing bothered him, people he kept close disappearing hurt him even more. He trusted few people and when they left, he feared it would be for good. Hyeon tried to mirror how casual the other was acting, a hand extended to reach for the mug as he brought it to his own lips. “Don’t act so nonchalant about it. I worried please don’t act like it meant nothing.”
Not once did they have this type of conversation over the years they've known each other. It was refreshing, but also heartbreaking (in a sense), because Donghae never intended to hurt his friend. "Oh, god. Hyeon, don't be so–" 'Sappy' would've been the term that was about to spill forth his lips, but for some reason, he as sounding more insensitive than he wanted to let on. Donghae didn't want to add salt over the wounds he caused. He breaks off his cool attitude and approaches his friend, extending his arm with a clenched fist. "Bro," he began. "I won't do it again. Dicky swear." It was his own way of brightening up the conversation. He raises his fist, waiting for it to be bumped by the latter to conclude their little sulky fit against each other. "Don't leave me hanging. I fucking dicky swore already."
As much as he want comeback to happen sooner, Jinyoung likes to handle everything b himself for most of the part–and by everything, it means that, just like how he’s always has been for most of B1A4 discography and the recent songs he composed for others, he feel the need to direct and arrange the song all by himself (and sometimes he did ask for someone else to help him arrange the song since he have tosn of events and other schedules to attend, but he always handle composing by himself). So when he noticed a single error happening during the one time the company suggested him to work with someone (they said it’d bring more diversity to the album, though despite not quite liking the idea since he planned to have a full handle on his next album, he goes along instead just to see how it’d go), he immediately confront the latter about it. The conversation went on smoothly, however, so Jinyoung didn’t really feel iffy about what happened and end up engaging himself into a talk about music with the older man since they’re both a producer in demand. At the next words, he let laughter slipped by his lip and shakes his head. “But no matter how hard you run, if you just end up facing said problem in the end then wouldn’t it be taxing? You can’t figure out everything in one go, though, I feel like such thing needs patience. Surely some things are too complex to comprehend, but that doesn’t mean we should dismiss it completely–”
"I know, I know! I just can't help it, you know?" Donghae took a sip off the bottle of water he got from the vending machine an hour ago when they first started out this session. For politeness, he offers the spare bottle to the idol just in case he was feeling thirsty too. "It isn't cold, so your throat won't have any problem with it. Want some?," he asked while shaking the bottled beverage, then places it on the table so Jinyoung could freely grab it if he wished. "Okay, maybe I don't want to go on circles like that again. What should I do then? How do I confront such problems if I think I'm the cause of it? Do I confront myself? Like, I don't know–interrogate myself in front of a mirror?" It was funny how a gentleman in his thirties was asking such from a younger person, probably in his mid-twenties. As much as Donghae's pride wouldn't let things like this slip, he sought advice from Jinyoung because he could tell he was a level-headed person. And sometimes, wisdom doesn't come with age. It comes with experience, which is perhaps a feat that Donghae has yet to discover about himself. "What do you think I should do, man?"

haru raises a brow and lowers the phone in his hands ( the text that he had been typing earlier – should i get nyaong a friend….. – now forgotten ), straightening back up. earlier, he had been leaning in to study the new kittens in the pet shop window that had, evidently, caught the attention of both haru himself – …and the man at his side. he purses his lips, voice flat when he replies, “would you marry someone just ‘cause you’re lonely?
”Donghae wondered if he aggravated the young fellow over interrupting his train of thought and eating up much of the other's free time. He stood there, staring at the man as he lowered his phone. 'Oh boy, is he gonna pack up a punch?' He was the least bit of worried though, if that were to happen. But the response he got back was another question, a food for thought of sorts. "Not.. really. So it's the same with animals, huh—I think I see your point."
baesooj:
hearing his response made her completely turn around and direct her attention towards him. as he carried on with his sarcasm filled reply, her facial expression remained blank, paying attention to every scenario he presented her with. “huh.” it wasn’t long until a sudden smile reached her lips, that soon turned into a small laugh. “i think it wouldn’t do you any good, i would be fine because ideally i’d be dead. can anything be an inconvenience to me then?” she shrugged, knowing talking about this with technicalities was silly in itself before pulling out a wipe. “i also have make-up wipes, but it seems as if you’ve made up your mind and are in a spectacular mood.”
"Ideally,“ he began as he narrowed his eyes at the female. "I wouldn’t be an inconvenience to you, but I’d be an inconvenience to myself and to the police station in this area for investigating why the heck I’d stab a pretty girl for financial gain. They’d check my records and discover that I’m not struggling, so they’d think I’ve gone nuts.” He snorts, musing her with his replies as he reached out for the wipe. “Could I have some of those? The armrest’s a bit dusty.” Then he remembers what an odd conversation this would be, from talking about stabbing her for a sudden death to him, a complete stranger to her, asking for wet wipes like it’s the most normal of things to do. “Donghae, by the way. And you’re right, I’m feeling so spectacular, I think I might need a stabbing for myself.”
93dsom:
“You know, you’d be a great person to have around the day after an emergency.”
` ♡ + A sheepish grin flew across her plump lips, revealing only a hint of what her toothy grin might look like. “Even if my short moment of panic quickly passed, you still believe in me? Uh… oppa. You have such hope for me.”
“Why shouldn’t I? After all, you seem like a great woman and I’m not just saying that because you look hot in those outfits! I mean that in the most honest and sincere way—” Gently, his hands landed over her shoulders, giving them a massage as he laughed softly. He wanted to put her at ease after the incident, recalling her blank stare and sudden amnesia over the placement and choreography for a certain stage performance. “Everybody gets the nervous jitters after a long period of absence. Completely normal. So drink up that water and go out back there, have fun onstage.”
Sooyeon wondered what it was like to travel alone. During the short few years that she had traveled, she had had someone with her the entire time. It had been an exciting adventure, then. But she wondered if things were quite different alone. Donghae was outgoing, and he said he had met other travelers on his journey. Yet she wondered if it ever got lonely, “Only kind of nice?” She asked, half teasing half serious, “With as long as you were gone, I had expected that you were having a marvelous time.” At his scolding, she laughed, “It’s not entirely my fault! My boyfriend spoils them even more than I do!” She insisted; it wasn’t a lie, after all. Leo was particularly lenient with them. Then again, she couldn’t blame him for it, “It’s difficult not to give in when they pout, you know. They know exactly how to get what they want. I discipline them when I have to, but how can I not spoil them when they’re so cute~?” Before she could even finish, Donghae was taking the bags from her, momentarily taking Sooyeon by surprise, “Ah- Hae! You didn’t have to-” Though it did seem like he was having a far easier time with the bags than she had. She smiled softly, thankful for his help, “You know I’m stubborn.” She had assumed they would be much easier to carry than they had been, and when she had been proven wrong, she was already determined to carry the bags herself.
"Yeah, kind of... When you've gotten so used to the fast-paced life in the city, even if the air's so refreshing, you just can't wait to have all that pollution back in your lungs," Donghae says, sounding so mirthless though he meant it in every bit of honesty he could give to Sooyeon. He smiles, rolling his eyes off that bit as he continued to tease her. "You should tell your boyfriend to lay it off on the spoiling. They might get used to it and grow up to be bratty kids." Though he was confident in his own measures of laying down discipline, both in his personal life and in his line of work, he wasn't entirely sure with kids. Unfortunately, he had a soft spot for them too, especially the little ones who are the purest of souls. So he can't blame Sooyeon and her beau for being so lenient.
"Too stubborn, I fucking swear—" That sentence ended with a grunt as the last bag of groceries landed on the floor so graciously, looking right behind him with a quirked brow. "Where's your car? I can't exactly bring all of these and guess which one's yours, you know. And this should be your boyfriend's duties—is he on children duty today?" He asked, looking agitated over the weight of what he just carried, although he's sure she could tell he was amused.
“And why would I go for a hug?” Abigail was not the kind to display her affection physically towards the people she knows ( Seungjin being the only exception ), let it alone to people she had barely talked to. Although she had heard him on the radio before and enjoyed the sound of his voice, that was it. This meeting was a mere coincidence, and nothing else. Hence her confusion when she stepped forward and held out her hand for him to shake. The dhampir arched a brow. “Are you going to shake it?”
"Uh, because– it's not everyday you meet a Lee Donghae?" The producer muses, although he wasn't so motivated to bring out his cocky side now. She seemed to be uninviting with his playful advances and he knew better than to press further on a Thursday morning. 'Right,' he says with a snap of a finger. 'Never ruin anyone's mood at mornings. Fucking forgot!'
"Yeah, yeah. Shaking it already. You're so formal, you know that? Sheesh, uptight as fuck."

@udonghae
It was a rare occasion for Sooyoung to be out and about with her family and when it does happen, it was so grand that it may end up on the news. Another charity event for her to be adorned with jewels to show that she was the daughter and a potential heiress of one of the high business tycoons in the market– meaning she was an important figure.
Despite the lavish lifestyle, however, she didn’t favor being around the same class she’s suppose to be in to. Typical cliche that there’s a rebellious one in the family but Sooyoung hated the idea of pretending to be kind just for the sake of business. But she needed to put up an image so her parents didn’t put her aside.
Momentarily excusing herself from the crowds of false smiles and talks of business deals, she roams in the halls of the host’s mansion and settles in a music room. Much to her dismay, there were no orchestral instruments so she picks up a guitar and sits on a stool by the window, strumming a tune softly as she mindlessly watched a flock of suits and gowns below. Her staring was only broken once she heard footsteps coming, thinking it might be a guard that would be announcing she shouldn’t be there. She puts the guitar back where it was and heads her way back, only to stop her tracks once she almost collided with someone by the door.
“Oh- forgive me, I wasn’t looking-” it was true, she wasnt, she was more distracted by the way her gown sparkled against the marble floor. Her voice was tired, but gentle enough for a sincere concern. “Are you alright?”
Life of the party.
That was what they dubbed him as, automatically hearing the sounds of music blaring off and glasses or bottles clinking in addition to the euphoric bliss of being the center of attention—five years ago. But he grew tired of it after a time, finding it less and less interesting as time had passed with a routine that wasn’t exactly so healthy. Waking up at noon, working until whatever time the job gets done or he, himself, feels done with it all before hitting up the best bar or the next popular club around Gangnam to drink his stress away, sleep with a few casuals within a week, then finally, some sleep. And then he repeats. It had already become a vicious cycle that consumed his very being, but his job was still his job and he was still loving it. He shed off some vices in the past and it helped, but at times, he would find himself crawling back to that lifestyle. Tonight though.
Tonight was an exception.
This was a different type of party, completely foreign in his palate though he’s been exposed to such here and there. Donghae tried to test out the waters if this environment was good for him; to be surrounded with business tycoons and fashions moguls that seemed to give a damn with just about an ounce of a rise in the stock market’s latest update.
‘I need some fucking air’, he thought as he slowly slipped away and vanished from the small circle he was trying to keep a conversation with. They wouldn’t notice him, no not at all. It was his friend in the industry that held the spotlight in there, since he was the one who acquired an envied stock in one of Samsung’s investments. He was just a shadow, a friend who was equally accomplished, but in a field that wasn’t as interesting in the eyes of the rich.
He found himself scrambling amongst the rooms, in search of a terrace, an empty smoking area or even just a spacious bathroom where he could give his face a good wash because he was bored as heck. But just as he was about to reach a fire exit, his ears had caught a warm acoustic rhythm that was worthy enough to make his head turn. Being a record producer, his ears had been gifted with that sensitive sense of hearing. Now, he wasn’t imagining things. He was sure it came from one of the doors around him, his instincts pointing out to the nearest one on his left. 'Fuck me if this place is haunted’, he thought as he opened the door. His chest had met the shoulder of a slender woman’s, a collision that left him stepping back, wide-eyed and wondering. “I—yeah. I’m good.” Wide eyes met his and he had to scratch his head to seem less intrusive and awkward. “Did you… did you happen to hear someone playing awhile ago? I could’ve sworn I heard something. It seemed good.”
choitempo:
“ Absolutely. I absolutely do. ” he chuckles gently, wagging a finger back and forth before his laughter fades into a sigh. “ You know, I’m lucky to know things like an hour before they happen myself. Or is that I’m lucky to remember them– I don’t know. But look, I can’t give you dates because even I don’t know them just yet. They’re always up in the air, but you can believe we’ll be releasing at least a little something soon since we got done filming a music video the other day. ”
“You’ve no idea how many questions my co-workers have been asking about you guys.” It was true. The amount of ‘What concept are they pulling off?’ and ‘Will they go upbeat again like Bang Bang Bang or go mellow with something a la Haru Haru era?’ were thrown as he exited the premises of his last visit to the studio. They knew he was fairly acquainted with the members, and they knew very well that Donghae would get answers when he wanted to ask. “Fine, fine. No dates. But seriously- I want a copy of that album with you and the guys’ signatures, alright? I need it for my collection.”
44. “Why do you run away from your problems all the time?”
for @jinyounc from this!status: still accepting
His hands were busy typing away the last few changes in the arrangement of the latest song he was fixing, adding and subtracting some minor details for the tracks that were assigned to Jung Jinyoung meticulously. And by meticulously, he does it with care and with patience because unlike the intern that hastily did this job last week, he was someone who knew the difference between Park Jinyoung and Jung Jinyoung. Two very different vocalists from two different companies, equally talented and equally deserving to have separate folders in the files of this laptop that was handed over by the third-party management. Seemingly, over the hours of rehearsing a song together to perfect it, Donghae had gotten into a deep conversation with the younger, which was something compeletely uncharacteristic of him to do so. “Well, when you’re as old as I am, man… When you can’t really tell if what you’re doing is actually making sense, you run. You run as hard as you can until you’ve got it all figured out. It lessens the casualties of people getting hurt, you know.”
