I have a research background in weight stigma and I currently work in mental health, often with LGBTQ+ clients.

I've met nonbinary people who struggle with disordered eating because they only ever see androgyny depicted as featureless thinness.

I've met trans women who struggle with disordered eating because they've internalized the idea that girls are meant to be thin, dainty, and delicate.

I've men trans men who struggle with disordered eating, because they feel women are allowed to be soft/curvy but men need to be muscular or thin and flat.

So many trans people are convinced that weight loss is the key to appearing as their desired gender, even when they want radically different gender presentations.

The societal idealization of thinness and fatphobia falsely invades and derails people's idea of what their "ideal body" should look like.

The social effects of privileging thinness are so damaging. Like, it's hard enough to deviate from expected gender roles and binary sexuality but now fat people have to do it on hard mode

as a xl-2xl clothing ftm pre t the REALEST thing i've read about bodies in a long while

and like in addition to this you just feel like shit and feel like nobody can like or love you because you don't fit any-fucking-where cute transguy? too fat to be cute big(-ger) guy? too fem to be a guy (large hips thing which are so hard to negate) i don't fit into small or plus body categories, i don't fit in terms of gender, i don't fit cuz of my interests and just fuck it all i'm sad lol

So I’ve been thinking about Mumbo (I’m sure you’re all very surprised) and I was just thinking about the implications of him not realising he is going grey until Grian pointed it out.

Because that’s the sort of thing you would notice, right? There’s no way you wouldn’t, not when you have black hair. If he were blonde I could understand it (golden-white hairs will you ever reveal your secrets to me) but you have to notice when it’s such a starkly different colour from the rest of your hair.

But then you look at the position of the grey streak and realise that huh, that would be really hard to see on yourself. It would only be visible when it was falling in front of his face, and who can really make out any sort of detail on something that is directly in front of their eyes? You’d probably need to look at your own reflection to notice that streak.

And let’s say for the sake of argument that mirrors do not exist in the Hermitcraft universe because as they are not an item you can craft in minecraft… there’s other options. Glass is still reflective and that exists; polished iron, of which Mumbo has plenty what with the fact that he is the one selling it; and you cannot forget the fact that he lives right by the river. If nothing else he would see his reflection there.

Unless of course…

And what kind of creature doesn’t have one of those, again..?

so real but it is also possible to take it into the direction of why a completely reflective creature wouldn't process their reflections(or wouldn't want to do so) like what if he knew at some point that the waffle is gone? just felt it, without a visual proof. Would he want to see how he looks now? Is he afraid of becoming the potato-mumbo or pig-mumbo again? Is he afraid that the bond between grian and him loosened so much and he just doesn't want to admit it or find a solution? Could he avoid looking at his own reflections while in this new to him "builder" state and while mumbo is excited for it he's also scared of how it can change everything he lived by for the past gods know how many years of redstone practices? Is he *i can continue indefinitely*
