uhitsdelilah·:
when she finally caught up to the dog, delilah smiled, the stranger was making her laugh, she had the same reaction when she’d first gotten the pup from the shelter. “i’ll always apologize, he’s just really excited to see everyone.” she holds the leash tighter than before, “his name is zeus, and he’s the biggest people person you’ll ever meet.” delilah says between smiles.
jc wasn’t the type of person to be shy. never. it was not surprise that she just jumped right into the conversation without missing a beat. “zeus ? adorable. are you a fan of greek mythology, or did you just like the name ?” she questions, smiling down at the dog before letting her eyes flicker back up to meet the other’s.
delilah wasn’t one to talk with others, she was as reclusive as she was smart. even during school she wasn’t the person to stop and talk to strangers on the street. “haha thank you. i used to love greek mythology when i was a kid, and i still do, so i guess it’s both.” she says smiling at the other girl.

For one thing, I have like… two other friends besides you, so you’re not my only friend. And for another, you will always be my best friend, you’re not getting away that easily.
uhitsdelilah·:
she’d only let loose for a second, the only thing she was try to do was get a better grip on the leash, and although the dog was small he was quite mighty. suddenly, before she knew it she’s chasing a dog down 12th street, until she finds him jumping and yipping excitedly at an innocent bystander. “i-i’m s-so s-sorry,” she says huffing while trying to catch her breath, retrieving her dog, “seems like he really like you though.” she says trying to lighten the conversation.
at the sight of the dog, jc let out an excited squeal, bringing her hands up to cup her cheeks. within seconds, she’s crouched down to pat the dog’s head, a wide grin set on her features. her gaze turns upwards as the other grabs back onto the leash, “never apologize to me for lettin’ an angel loose !” she says through a laugh, pushing herself back up to a standing position. “he’s fuckin’ adorable. what’s his name ?”

uhitsdelilah:
delilah can’t help smiling, hearing his laugh, and seeing his face, somehow the puzzle pieces just came together. was it possible to feel like you’ve known someone for forever, even if your definition of ‘forever’ is merely a few minutes ago. or maybe it was hours, all time seemed to pass over delilah standing in his presence, it made her feel like an adolescent again, this feeling of butterflies, and the pitter-patter of her heartbeat. she feels as if she’s staring at him and honestly she wouldn’t be surprised if she is so she her eyes make their way to the floor, looking at her dog with such adoration, and then looking back at him in the same way. the same glisten in her eyes. “so you’re saying that i created that award because of you? seems lame, but i like it.” she teases back, his dorkish grin, bringing out one of her own. delilah had never had words flow out so easily before, it’s as if she’d rehearsed the lines in her head, which she most definitely hadn’t, hence her awkward jokes and constant apologies. she lets out another laugh, this one short and nervous, “believe me, you’re research is terrific, and the fact that you didn’t know who i was says a lot, huh?” she teases, her voice filled with joyful laughter. she nods her head a short awkward chuckle escaping from her, as she rubs the back of her neck in nervousness, “um…yeah, i did actually.” it wasn’t something that she went around bragging about to strangers, or that she went around bragging about to people who knew her, but kaiden didn’t feel like a stranger, it was like, like something that was once missing is finally coming home. “believe me, i’m in no place to be lecturing, especially not one of your classes, but maybe i’ll drop in, if that’s not too intrusive on my part.” she says with a smile, she knew that she was ahead of him, even if it was just by a little, yet it felt wrong bringing it up, she hadn’t chosen a proper ‘academic’ field, instead she chased after what she was passionate about music. “it’s nice to meet you too, kaiden.” she adds, wanting to hear his name just once more. she giggles, “i’m quite sure by this point now even zeus is tired of me, hopefully you won’t be though.” she teases, his blushing making her do the same. she began leading him in the direction of the park, “so, kaiden, where’d you grow up?”
she kept him laughing. this had to be one of the few conversations kaiden actually liked the other person’s jokes. he gets caught up in her smile. just beautiful. he wanted to see that smile more. to be the one to make her smile. kaiden felt he could trust this person. of course, they’d only just met and that completely countered his much more logical mind. but she just seemed to get him. he shrugs at her compliment on his research, blushing still. “eh, it might’ve had a few inconsistencies.” he was never the best at taking compliments. especially when it came to his work. his research meant the world to him and, if it wasn’t perfect or world changing, he counted it as pointless. insignificant. kaiden’s perfectionism being what caused him to be such a workaholic. he shakes his head again, smiling. “i’m just a nobody. means nothing that i didn’t know who you were. cause, i really wish i did..” he replies. did that make sense? he’s terrible at flirting. was kaiden flirting? even he couldn’t really answer that question for himself. butterflies bombarding his stomach he wanted to pretend he hadn’t said that line as soon as possible. he instead focuses on her words, still a little shocked she’d graduated before him. kaiden watches the way she bashfully admits she did. the expression on her face was cute. “huh. wow, i graduated a year after you. amazing.” he replies. kaiden thought it was really amazing she’d graduated before him. she was smarter than him. and, frankly, that only peaked his interest more. “no!” he exclaims, but realizes that likely wasn’t the answer he meant to say. “no! no, it’s not too intrusive. i mean, i-i would love for you to come. uh, i-if you want..” he liked the way she said his name. not that it was necessarily any different from how everyone else pronounced it. her voice just sweetened it. “tired of you? impossible.” he says in a small chuckle. he tucks his hands in his pockets walking along beside her. he’s really nervous for some reason. a good nervous. but, nervous nonetheless. at least she brought up something he could talk about. home. “brooklyn. right on fountain ave. what about you? new yorker too?”
delilah liked hearing him laugh, not just because it made her happy that he was one of the few people who actually liked her jokes, but his laugh was cute. he was cute, and she couldn’t help but wonder what he thought about her. she smiled biting her lips softly, just wanting to hear his voice once more, and when he finally speaks, she’s a little shocked. “i guess you’re right, but that didn’t make it bad, you still did a terrific job at explaining how stem cells can help with leukemia, someone could even use your research to help people walk again.” she’d actually used his research in the few amounts of lab research she’d done, but didn’t feel the need to bring it up. it wasn’t like it was relevant to him, and she afraid of coming off too strong, though delilah understood the need for things to be perfect. “you’re not a nobody to me, i mean i knew who you were didn’t i? and i want to get to know you better. i promise if anything i’m the nobody, i’m not some world-renowned researcher, just a singer.” she blushes, were they flirting? were they just having a nice conversation? she wished they were flirting, whatever this was, she liked it. and it was certainly making her blush. as he focuses on her and her words, she bites her lip softly, her heart beating somewhat faster than normal. although she might’ve graduated before him, she didn’t feel smarter than him, if anything she felt as if she was just as smart as he was. when he speaks again she smiles, she seems to be doing it a lot, “so you graduated at 16, that’s...wow.” she says with a joyful tone, surprised she’d met someone like herself. she’s taken aback when he says no, her feelings almost hurt before he backtracks, and she lets out a small giggle, “great! when we get to the park i’ll give you my number and you can tell me when class starts, i promise i won’t be late mr. kingston.” she teases. there it was again, the flirting? ”i promise i’m nowhere near as interesting as i seem.” she can feel the butterflies fluttering as they walk alongside each other. is it bad that she really wanted to hold his hand? though instead she keeps hers on the leash almost pausing as he speaks again, “you’re kidding! i’m from brooklyn, i lived two blocks down the street.”
uhitsdelilah·:
delilah wasn’t sure how to respond to the stranger, her entire vocabulary suddenly decipating from existence as she opens her mouth to say something but no words come out. she takes a deep breath and starts again, “i wouldn’t get your hopes up, this little guy likes everyone, he’s quite the people person.” she laughed softly to herself.
he tilted his head as he waited for the girl to speak. frankie raises his eyebrows as she seems to restart herself. he chuckles and crouches down to pet the pup. “are you saying that i’m not special, love?”
delilah was never good with words, in any sense, so she lets out a gentle laugh, and then takes it back when he speaks, “to my pup? probably not. but to someone else, maybe.” she says, trying to say it in the gentlest way possible.
uhitsdelilah.
she’d only let loose for a second, the only thing she was try to do was get a better grip on the leash, and although the dog was small he was quite mighty. suddenly, before she knew it she’s chasing a dog down 12th street, until she finds him jumping and yipping excitedly at an innocent bystander. “i-i’m s-so s-sorry,” she says huffing while trying to catch her breath, retrieving her dog, “seems like he really like you though.” she says trying to lighten the conversation.
“ oh, don’t apologize, he’s an angel,” stas cooed from her newfound position on the ground, scratching the dog behind it’s ears with both hands. “ my grandmother has eight cocker spaniels – like the queen with her corgis, and now that she’s old i take care of them for the most part – he probably smells ‘em on me,” she explained, smiling brightly up at the woman.
“haha, his name is zeus, and although he looks like an angel...he is.” delilah laughs, her dog had never given her problems, and was contrary to his owner was very social. “oh that’s just the sweetest, zeus here is a minature schnauzer. well i’ll have to meet them one day! zeus and well i could use some friends.” she says smiling back at her.
i love being queen of ms paint, enjoy this drawing of a little planet boi that i made earlier, sksksk i promise i’ll get to replies when I get home. k bye love you.
uhitsdelilah:
she lets out a small laugh, “what can i say i’ve loved greek mythology since i was a kid. i should’ve named him helios huh?” it’s only after she says it that she realizes that the other may not get the joke, “god of the sun, everyone calls him a ball of sunshine. i-i’m sorry, bad joke.” she laughs nervously, and tries not to over explain the joke, realizing the joke wasn’t as funny as in her head. she puts the puppy down, as he’s still excitedly running around. she brushes her hair out of her face, and it’s only then that she gets a better look at him, she can nearly feel her heart race. when he laughs, it’s just as she’d anticipated it to be, all smiles, all soft edges. “i promise that you’re not, i have that one in the bag, even won an award for it, of course that was given to me by myself but what can you do?” she says with another laugh, just wanting to hear his again. “o-oh u-um i-i’m sorry? i didn’t realize it was weird? u-um i read your work all the time, you’re a terrific researcher, and if i hadn’t graduated when i was 15, i’d totally sit in on one of your courses.” how was he so cute even when he was rambling? delilah had never been so intent on wanting to know someone, but he already seemed to make it worth it. she tries to backtrack, not wanting to seem weird to him, and not wanting to make herself seem a bigger dork. “you don’t have to apologize, i talk too much for my own good.” she says with a laugh, “but i’m delilah, delilah london, nice to meet you…speaking of which…” she says trailing off biting her lip, “zeus and i were going to go to the park, care to join?”
kaiden’s eyes flicker from the dog to the woman, frankly he didn’t expect her joke. a laugh escapes him, he shakes his head. “no, no i get it. it was a pretty good joke.” he says chuckling a bit still. he isn’t sure how to feel. a part of him had already taken a liking to this girl. she was sweet. kaiden didn’t like the term crush, it felt.. juvenile. and having always been the youngest of his peers, he’s constantly trying to prove just how adult he is. but she just seemed really genuine, intelligent. something he didn’t interact alot with in new york. she was a breath of fresh air of sorts. kaiden lets out another laugh, already smiling dorkishly because hers was just so cute. “ah, but see they created that award because of me.” he teases. he rarely ever spoke this easy with someone he’s attracted to. he wonders why she apologizes so much when she didn’t have to. “no, not weird! it’s.. a compliment. its not everyday i run into people on the street who know who i am is all.” he replies. his jaw goes a little slack, tilting his head slightly. “you graduated at 15?” he’s baffled. kaiden hasn’t really met anyone so similar to him. he graduated highschool at 13, college at 16. she was.. actually a little bit ahead of him. “wow. uhm-” he clears his throat that is suddeny dry. where had this girl been his whole life? he’s even more intrigued by her. “well, you’re invited to sit in anytime but, i don’t know, maybe you should be doing the lecturing instead.” he says with a little laugh, his face feeling a little warm. he’s blushing slightly. kaiden nods, “nice to meet you, delilah.” he replies. he just really liked saying her name. sort of rolled off the tongue. kaiden didn’t expect her to invite him along. when she had, his heart skipped. “oh, uh, sure. yeah. i’d love to. if zeus doesn’t mind me sticking around for a bit.” he says, his cheeks growing pinker. sure he was on his way to teach his class. oh well, he could cancel. it was way too good of a way for him to find out more about delilah. he already really liked being around her.
delilah can’t help smiling, hearing his laugh, and seeing his face, somehow the puzzle pieces just came together. was it possible to feel like you’ve known someone for forever, even if your definition of ‘forever’ is merely a few minutes ago. or maybe it was hours, all time seemed to pass over delilah standing in his presence, it made her feel like an adolescent again, this feeling of butterflies, and the pitter-patter of her heartbeat. she feels as if she’s staring at him and honestly she wouldn’t be surprised if she is so she her eyes make their way to the floor, looking at her dog with such adoration, and then looking back at him in the same way. the same glisten in her eyes. “so you’re saying that i created that award because of you? seems lame, but i like it.” she teases back, his dorkish grin, bringing out one of her own. delilah had never had words flow out so easily before, it’s as if she’d rehearsed the lines in her head, which she most definitely hadn’t, hence her awkward jokes and constant apologies. she lets out another laugh, this one short and nervous, “believe me, you’re research is terrific, and the fact that you didn’t know who i was says a lot, huh?” she teases, her voice filled with joyful laughter. she nods her head a short awkward chuckle escaping from her, as she rubs the back of her neck in nervousness, “um...yeah, i did actually.” it wasn’t something that she went around bragging about to strangers, or that she went around bragging about to people who knew her, but kaiden didn’t feel like a stranger, it was like, like something that was once missing is finally coming home. “it’s nice to meet you too, kaiden.” she adds, wanting to hear his name just once more. she giggles, “i’m quite sure by this point now even zeus is tired of me, hopefully you won’t be though.” she teases, his blushing making her do the same. she began leading him in the direction of the park, “so, kaiden, where’d you grow up?”
uhitsdelilah
delilah had finally caught up to the dog and grabbed the dog from him holding him tightly in her arms. “no i’m seriously so sorry, zeus is just a ball of energy.” she says with a small laugh, “you just looked busy, and I didn’t want to bother you, but it turns out that zeus did.” she says with a small laugh again, rubbing the dogs head with a smile. “hey he hangs out with me, i’ve gotten the uncool part down.” when he looks at her every word in her vocabulary seems to decapitate from her memory, his blue eyes seeming to bring her stutter back once again. “y-you’re kaiden kingston, i-i’ve read all of your research. i-i’m a really big fan. you’re stem cell research is amazing. b-but you probably already know that…” she says trailing off awkwardly.
“zeus, ah. what a lovely name for a dog so small.” he says letting out a small laugh, his eyes still focused on the small animal. he actually really enjoyed greek mythology. probably far more than most. inwardly, he makes a joke about how he should be on mount olympus and not in the middle of new york. kaiden didn’t think the stranger would find that funny. he’d learned by now he wasn’t.. exactly as funny as he thought he was. as his gaze falls on the other, his jaw goes slack. she’s gorgeous. he lets out an awkward laugh, noticing he’d left a pause way too long after she’d spoken. he was just so busy admiring her. “haha uh, n-no i definitely win the most uncool person in new york. just ask my students.” he brings a hand to the back of his next, letting out a brief awkward chuckle. his eyes widen. weird. she knew his name. and his work? “uh, yeah. that’s.. that’s me. how’d you..? uh, thank you. really, it was sort of not my best work.. being the whole thing is just really experimental still but there were promising signs of regenerative cells and that’s good cause you know, cancer treatments possibly and..” was he rambling? he was for sure rambling. he lets out a breath, eyes falling to the ground as he chuckles at himself. “sorry, uh,” he wants to start over. or at least go back a few seconds before he started rambling like an idiot. “i got your dog’s name before i got yours. and you are..?”
she lets out a small laugh, “what can i say i’ve loved greek mythology since i was a kid. i should’ve named him helios huh?” it’s only after she says it that she realizes that the other may not get the joke, “god of the sun, everyone calls him a ball of sunshine. i-i’m sorry, bad joke.” she laughs nervously, and tries not to over explain the joke, realizing the joke wasn’t as funny as in her head. she puts the puppy down, as he’s still excitedly running around. she brushes her hair out of her face, and it’s only then that she gets a better look at him, she can nearly feel her heart race. when he laughs, it’s just as she’d anticipated it to be, all smiles, all soft edges. “you don’t have to apologize, i talk too much for my own good.” she says with a laugh, “but i’m delilah, delilah london, nice to meet you...speaking of which...” she says trailing off biting her lip, “zeus and i were going to go to the park, care to join?”

she’d only let loose for a second, the only thing she was try to do was get a better grip on the leash, and although the dog was small he was quite mighty. suddenly, before she knew it she’s chasing a dog down 12th street, until she finds him jumping and yipping excitedly at an innocent bystander. “i-i’m s-so s-sorry,” she says huffing while trying to catch her breath, retrieving her dog, “seems like he really like you though.” she says trying to lighten the conversation.
he’s waiting for a taxi. though kaiden had plenty money to buy his own car, the brooklyn native saw no use. he thought it best to just take taxis and live like a normal human being. his attention is pulled from the street to a small dog. barking and jump at his leg, the dog put a small smile on kaiden’s features. he kneels to pat the dogs head. kaiden quite liked dogs but never seemed to have to time to get his own. “oh, no need to apologize.” he replies hearing a voice apologize. he picks up the dog into his arms standing, finally looking at the person speaking to him directly. “yea? i don’t know, i’m not as cool as he thinks.” kaiden shrugs, letting out a small laugh.
delilah had finally caught up to the dog and grabbed the dog from him holding him tightly in her arms. “y-you’re kaiden kingston, i-i’ve read all of your research. i-i’m a really big fan. you’re stem cell research is amazing. b-but you probably already know that...” she says trailing off awkwardly.
uhitsdelilah:
delilah smiles scopping the small dog into her arms, trying to prevent anymore incidents like the one prior. “thank you, his name is zeus.” suddenly delilah recognizes the face, “mia! hey! it’s been a while, how’s the wedding and everything going?” she asks rubbing the pups head gently in the process.
mia placed a hand to her heart, “oh my gosh, zeus! what a cute name!” she chuckled, giving the dog a scratch behind his ears. “it has oh my god,” she smiled, shrugging her shoulders. “good good! got almost everything planned out, just a few little bits and bobs to organise, got my first bridal fitting on friday, i’m super excited!”
delilah laughed, “yeah! he’s going to be a year this month and i’m so happy.” the dog was still excitedly yipping in a more controlled manner. “i feel like i haven’t see you in forever!” delilah says listening before letting out a small smile, “that’s good, i hope that i’m still on the guest list.” she teased with a small nudge.
