FROONT
Froont is a new project with his main goal to make responsive web design easier and possible for everyone. With a WYSIWYG-Editor it is very easy to design your own 'responsive'-website.
First you have to make a profile to login and after that you can start immediately with designing for your own.
You also can have a look into other peoples design templates, clone them and putting your own styles onto them. Even Froont is still in the beta-version it is very handy.
The only issue is that your designs are public for everyone with a FROONT profile. Nevertheless for some web designers it could really be a problem while preferring developing for they own.
It is clearly more the social network thought with an open independent internet where everybody has the right to see everything.
I think for professionals it is really problematic but for beginners it is a real cool thing to play around with other design and see what's possible
Cheers,
Chris
Nine cool GIF's for Responsive Webdesign
Here are pretty cool 9 little GIF's which are showing some challenges you have to face while being a responsible Webdesigner.
It's nice to just see these little animations to get an cool overview what resopsonsible Webdesign is all about.
1. If a screen gets smaller and smaller you have to put the elements underneath eachother without losing stuff. This is called the Flow:
2. And because auf the Flow it's a very important thing to use relative units instead of static units. Don't use pixels use percentages!
3.Using breakpoints is the next important thing not crashing your layout. The keyword would be @media screen and max-width.
4. Using a max-width helps to keep your layout in good shape on very large screens.
5. If you group your elements within a bigger DIV it's easier to make some adjustments while only moving the DIV. Another advantage to keep working with the relative units!
6. You have to choose an starting point. Is your website primarly designed for desktop screens, mobiles or tablets. And than you have to decide how the website will look on other devices!
7. Webfonts are pretty but they could increase the time to load the website. System fonts are quicker!
8.Using SVG formats for little grafics has the advantage that you can vectorize them so you'll only need one image for all the different devices. But be careful because they are not supported by every browser. Thanks to you IE8!
9. Will You do it resopnsive or adaptive? Adaptive is clearly the quicker way to do it and sometimes it will be enough but of course not always. It all comes down to you.
SPOILER ALERT! Interstellar: The Best movi.... ehhh marketing of all time!
Hello world,
hello space and
hello to all the people who are stuck in the 5th dimension,
Yesterday I saw the most promising movie this year..
There are really a lot of things which I could say over this movie but to make it short -
It wasn't a bad one, neither a good one, but definitely a toooo long one! It wasn’t the 14€ entrance in an IMAX worth. Especially because it wasn’t shoot in this quality (I do not know this for sure, but the screen was clearly not sharp as it could be!)
The best thing about this movie is clearly the Marketing and that’s the level for which the movie has to stand up for.
To get such a rating on IMDB (9.3 even it was not for a long period of time) to be called the best movie of all time is just ridiculous!
Nevertheless the most curious thing about all the critics over this movie (they are not as bad as they should be). Normally if a movie offers so many weaknesses like these ones it will get some bad reviews.
Have a look at just a few:
- The cast; not only Anna Hathaway should not be on this movie ot that the little girl is much too old. Most of the other supporting actors are from TV Shows like Dexter and 24 which only shows that the cast was made by a computer like in “House of Cards” or “True Detective”
- The arc of tension in the first half with a soundtrack (even it is from my favourite Sound producer Hans Zimmer) is just boring. We all know what will happen next, nobody will die while the rocket is launching and nothing will go wrong while starting to hyperspace. This is just boring and way too long. But of course longer movies in cinema can charge more!
- The cinematography is nice and I think Nolan wanted exactly to be this way. But this static camera which is stick to the space shuttles with no moving at all (like a camera in old movies who is stick to a car without changing the perspective – do you know what I mean ;-)?) that should show us in a way how realistic this mission is like the (the real!) NASA said it is the most realistic movie ever made in Hollywood (HAHAHAH!). Gravity proved it to Nolan that a turning camera in space can do an also realistic job!
- The lot of stupid, stupid little things in the movie, i.e. when the best space pilot in the world needs an explanation shortly before he enters the black hole how does this thing actually bend the space. Then two hours later he solves the problem which couldn’t be solved by a computer to use the Gargantula thing as a jump starter like we saw it in Armageddon while moving around the moon ages ago. Just RIDICULOUS!
There were also some good things in the movie but I really can’t remember a lot. OK this movie has a nice ending (I mean the action at the end within the 5th dimension - not the drama at the bed or the fact that he got lucky to be found minutes ago before he went out of air). This was good fun and nice special effects (probably the same effects as in Inception when the bend the world upside down, only they took this time the circle-filter). The sound effects were really good at this point it was exciting and good entertainment but I have to say it again – why does it get such a rating for this; we saw the same at the latest StarTrek movie – and this was a good one!
I really can’t believe the critics at all – I can’t be soooo wrong about this movie. Try to correct me!
Rating from me: 7.5/10

Chris
Why Ads Really Have No Place on Snapchat
http://www.socialmediatoday.com/content/snapchat-has-made-terrible-mistake-they-introduced-ads
And here we are. The next player in the game decided to present their users some ads. Like the author in the article said, this doesn’t make really sense at all. For a service which gives the users on one hand the chance to share very private and intimate moments and on the other hand making an ugly U turn in their philosophy and showing on such an trustworthy platform annoying ads.
I am exciting to see their statistics in a few months!
Social Media privacy check
So like the most of you know from latest posts I am a newcomer on Facebook I now found a cool article about privacy settings the social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+ (I don’t care!). Of course when I started being a Facebook slave I did my homework and figured out which things I have to do to protect my privacy (Haha, LOL!). So I asked some friends which always claimed they are very careful with the things they’re doing on Facebook and so I’ve started.
This article wouldn’t help me to get a better more private start on Facebook but nevertheless I found some information which I wasn’t aware of. For example I always thought the profile pictures album was visible for everyone could successful stalked me/you. So now I know that I do not have to ‘delete’ my older profile pictures, I have to change the setting on each one of them to prevent to get seen by strangers. OK, most of you will say. Of course you idiot everyone does know that!
But then I am wondering why nobody changes these settings for each picture. You can get so much information while stalking a person just by looking at the pictures. Most of the time you can see the places they travelled to in the last months, the haircuts they had, the parties they went to and so on. And this is so good information to get a first good/bad impression on these people who claimed they giving so less information about their self.
And know here is the reason I like Twitter a lot more than Facebook. This article uses 648 words to describe some privacy settings on Facebook for Twitter: 127 words.
ROI - Return of Investment in a social media campaign
The ROI is an important number in the field of social media. You can earn new customers, make more revenue or do more transactions in your business with only spending little amount of money while starting with your personal social media campaign. And for every single effort there will be a number (ROI) to help you to get a better overview - especially to argue with your internal management.
But the important thing is to find the right campaign that’s fitting for your business. Like you see in the following picture there is not only in- & output, there are a lot of things in the middle you can use or do in the right or wrong way.
But this doesn’t mean when you do the very best strategy for your business, that there will always be the ROI’s you wished for. It seems nowadays that every company has their presence on the social media platforms but sometimes it is just the best move to keep your hand from Facebook Twitter & Co because you won’t reach your target group to communicate. The big companies are not active on these platforms for getting more customers they are only there for manipulating their public image in a way they think it should be.
So be careful while starting your new business when you decide to going wild on the social media platforms. You have to catch up with the latest trends and tricks to play it well in your business…
Love/Hate Season 3 finally got me!
My review for the first season Love/Hate was really hard, but I think it worked out ;-).
It seems the writers went to the past collected some money and wrote a better second season with not so much annoying drama anymore as I claimed before. And so it goes on in season 3 - suddenly the TV-Show is now in a proper 16:9 format and looks a lot better.
I really liked how season three starts. Everybody is complete drunk at St. Paddy’s weekend and Darren seems to be more and more mental and smashed this beautiful beer barrel on this poor fellows head. This looks very promising for the next episodes...
I have to keep up to reach the fifth season before it will end again - 6 weeks left.
Maybe someone could call it Propaganda
This week I had the pleasure to hear about some really interesting facts about the greatest country of all. It’s about this wonderful country which is doing everything bigger, faster and of course everything there is better.
Up on this point I thought there isn’t another thing about this beautiful country that could really shock me again. But after watching the most of the YouTube Videos from the HBO TV Show “Last Week tonight with John Oliver” I really had to change my mind again. There is and will be always another stupid fact that is just unbelievable!
YouTube Link on pictures
But I want to start from the beginning, for those of you who are interested to know why I have such a strong opinion, or can’t understand why someone couldn’t fall in love with this country, at all, please watch this first. It’s great two hour documentary with a mind blowing finish.
The house I live In - 2012 by Eugene Jarecki
Only the German version is availavle on YouTube. Help yourselve!
So, this week I watched the first three episodes of the new season from “Homeland”. This TV-Show, especially this season is about Drone attacks in the Near Est. It shows both sides of this conflict in a way that you can really feel with either of them. It’s a lot about the moral issues with come with this cruel way to fight terror.
But it’s actually a very good TV Show, with tremendous actors, a perfect storyline, great sacrifices and overall it’s good fun. But the thing about the show is, that I think every time while watching it, how does the show influence to the main audience which is clearly the people living within the states? Do they believe everything they’ve done after 9/11 it’s necessary or are they thinking critically about the actions from their government. Could this show really be a game changer of the American way of thinking? Is this show as close as possible to reality? How much truth lies in it?
I think everybody should answer these questions by their selves and after that I strongly recommend to watch this episode of John Oliver’s Show and think over these questions again. This is a beautiful example how the Americans got manipulated by media. In my opinion the TV-Show Homeland handles this subject in a way the Americans maybe could accept this actions taken by the government, that doesn’t mean that’s everything alright with the moral issues in Homeland, but the really absurd thing is that the reality is so unbelievable far away. See by yourself
The most unbelievable thing is that they are broadcast this show on one of the five big TV networks, put one of the funniest people alive behind the desk and just let the people laugh about these terrible grievances.
But what do you think about the format of this Late Night Show? I’m sure it isn’t John Oliver’s fault therefore he is much too intelligent. I think he’s just sitting behind his desk and laughs by himself over these beautiful people from the best country of all.
Cheers,
Chris
Love/Hate: Impressions after season one. Spoiler Alert!
Now since I'm living in Dublin I heard a lot about the new season of the TV-Show called Love/Hate which started yesterday with the first episode in their 5th season.
So it was clear to me, as one of the bigger TV-Show junks, I have to watch all of the previous four seasons as soon as possible. I have to keep up with the other guys in Dublin watching this Show.
Yesterday, I finished season one. And surprise, there were some really lovely parts and some really hatful parts in it but in my point of view the complete other directions as the intensions of the producers.
The show started really interesting, there was a mysterious gangster coming out of prison, the cliché gangsters music that was played, a guy with a gorges naked woman in bed and then the first bloody shocking violent moment when Tommy's brother was shot...really great. In these starting 15 minutes I really loved the show. Dark mysterious, violent, sex scences, it seemed to be a complete TV-Show, so far.
Also the video production of this show was acceptable. I really like the over brightened scenes that are often used to cover the low budget effects. Also the cinematography is a clear statement against the Hollywood mainstream Shows. That’s all cool with me, but there were some not so lovely parts in it.
The story is not really different to the other known shows like the Black Donnelly’s, the Sopranos or Sons of Anarchy... a group of violent people are hurting themselves, selling each other out for money, etc. We’ve all seen these storylines over and over again.
But again it was quite interesting to see this show which is played in Dublin with all the known places you can discover in the background.
So then it started with the all melodramatic, emotional parts that seemed to be endless. I really can't see this kind of bullshit anymore. An endless long scene upon a opened coffin where the important things in life had to be discussed. But of course the worst scene was the dream wedding in the last episode (surprise, never seen that before), where the bride was angry about Nidge because he was still fucking with prostitutes. Who cares bitch! You married a drug addicted violent criminal who promised you with a laugh in his face that he would never fucks a prostitute again. And then you’ll blow up a seven grand expensive honeymoon?
Drama, drama, drama! It really reminded me on the latest x-factor show which I was forced to see for about 15 min. Gross!
So overall, the show could easily cut to the half and the new name of it should only be hate/ more hate.
OK I know this is quite unfair to judge a TV-Show which is four years old after only seen the first season (just four episodes), but the story really have to improve at some point, they have to find a way to separate the storyline from all the other known shows. I think the self-given headshot was a good start.
But one thing about the cliff-hanger I have to say. Did the audience really think that they would scarifies the main actor, sunshine super lovely baby-faced hero with the upcoming love story with his teenage love at the end of episode four. Really?
So the next season will be a little bit longer than this one and I think I will make It through these episodes too. I’ll give my best, Promise.
So then, cya after the next season!
