Changing his outfit back to have a jacket with longer sleeves, Toubei was a bit more willing to brave it out in front of other people again, even if the effects that were sprung onto them mid-game seemed to be still just as annoying.
It probably didn’t help his case if he was putting more layers on himself, possibly restricting his air flow, but he supposed as long as he didn’t put on a scarf, he could try and bare it. He just wanted to look normal, even if it was turning out to be very apparent that no one was free from a transformation of sorts.
He was lost in his own thoughts again, a nasty habit of his, when his trance was broken by the sound of someone yelling elsewhere.
He turned his head, following the source. His feet carried him there much more quickly than his senses could really kick in and take over his curiosity, leading him to spot the track star without much of any idea of what to do.
“Maybe you didn’t do anything…?”
Oh, well, now he did it.
“I mean… Not that I’d know or… well, anything, but… Gaaah…”
Stunning.
The changes in Toubei were... hard to spot. Upon casual glance, it seemed like nothing was off, but one had to look a little harder to notice even he was not immune. Feathers sprouted where skin was fading, but at least he knew how to dress to hide it.
Arielle’s changes were also much less noticeable... unless, by some chance, an EMT was around and could easily identify two broken arms. Nonetheless, it showed in her face just how much pain she was in. Her eyebrows creased across her forehead as she replied.
“I didn’t do anything. I just woke up here, and now I’m in hell. I’ve been a good person all my freaking life, so why do I deserve this?”
Now would be the time when she would cross her arms over her chest in defiance, but alas, simple movement was impossible. She figured she was going to have to rely on someone for help, so there was no need to be so mean to this kid.
“Sorry, I’m just a bit pissed off. It’s not your fault,” she said, swallowing her pride. “But can you help me? I can’t even get a glass of water without wanting to curl up into a ball and cry.”
