Wow. That was really all Jericho had to say, about what theyâd found. The documents were so interesting! Even though they hadnât found their own name or number among the listed ones, two in particular caught their eye. Though, honestly, theyâre almost disappointed they hadnât found anything about themselves. They did wonder about the state of their family, but judging by what theyâd found⊠the prognosis was not good. Hmm.Â
What they had to share, though!! Should they go seek out the people theyâd seen mentioned on the list? Who was that? Matthias, Apollo, Sousuke, Ikura, Calico, and two they hadnât quite been able to make out. Should they tell them? Well! They would certainly want to know if they were in the othersâ situation, so make that a yes!Â
But first⊠Jeez thereâs a lot of blood in this room huh. They step forward regardless, however, examining the brain curiously. That sure is a brain alright. They could take it with them, but what would they even do with it? Use it as a macabre snow globe? They certainly could do that but they have a feeling it wouldnât go over well. So they turn their attention to the photograph. Theyâre, well, not entirely sure what it is! Whatever it is is blurry as all heck. Confirmed. Staring Xue straight in the eyes, they take the photograph with them as they return to the hallway and the rest of the facility.
Still mulling over what theyâd learned, they take off toward the kitchen, because they hadnât realized just how hungry they were. They turn the corner into the hallway there just in time to hear one Matthias Wolfram say that they (who was they? Jericho wasnât sure, but they were about to find out!) should go over what theyâd found.
âExcellent idea!â they exclaim as they bound forward to see that Matti is talking to none other than Apollo Brandt. Hmm. Hmm!! âHello, Matti, Apollo! If weâre sharing, then goodness, I have some news!â
Okay, he could deal with Matthias. With a stifled sigh he acknowledges his presence. Itâs nothing personal; heâs just feeling fed up in general right now. âMy apologies for, er, ditching you,â he says, âOnce this is done I think I will go to sleep.â Sleeping forever sounded nice. In his nice, single room. If he could just sleep through the next round of whatever bullshit the scientists had prepped for him, even better.
Apollo shakes his head. âNever mind. Going over it would be the smart thing to do.â Not the fun thing, but you make sacrifices. âRight here in the hallway, or would you prefer to sit down, at least?â He runs a hand through the dry curls of hair - harder to do, now that there are horns in the way.
He inhales to speak again, but finds himself cut off by the absolute last person heâd like to see. He coughs out a rough, audible sigh, makes it no secret that heâs not actually interested in whatever sewage is about to pour from the actorâs mouth.
âOh, perfect,â he spits, turning on Jericho, âMister Wolfram might be more accommodating but I am not interested in whatever vapid, irrelevant noise you have to contribute. Youâve always been a waste of my time, and I do not see why now should suddenly be any different.â
Harsh, but heâs not interested in playing nice today. He moves to push past Jericho and continue down the hall, and pauses to see if Matthias is coming with him. He should really start paying attention to that weird psychic sense again; it helped him avoid Jericho, so it was worth it.
He opens his mouth to give a reply to Apollo, to say itâs fine and to get everything information-wise out into the open...
And then that person appears.
âYâknow, I ainât feelinâ much in the way of accomodatinâ either.â
More accommodating... if anything, Matthias was willing to bet he was even less accommodating than even Apollo. There was an instinctual feeling of just ânoâ when Jericho entered his field of view. This person, who treated everything like a joke, who treated the tragedies and lives of others as playthings was alien to him. Matthias felt that sort of behaviour should be alien to everyone but Mayumi and their callous indifference probably accepted it. Maybe even appreciated it. Their take on all this felt just as abnormal. He was wondering at this point if he wasnât the abnormal one here.
He fixes his furious eyes on the actor and folds his arms. Thereâs no sign of actual aggression... yet... but his stance speaks loud and clear. You, Jericho van Halen, are not welcome here. Perhaps just moving on ahead, following Apollo is the smart play but thereâs no this gremlin wouldnât just tag-along. Maybe if heâs intimidating enough, clear enough, theyâll get the idea.
âSomeone who lies nâ plays with the truth to spice things up ainât welcome here. Not one bit.â
The sentence is a little broken, fitted with ill-chosen words and phrases that donât quite belong but it is clear enough in his eyes. Hell, heâs never been good at speaking right.
âDâyou really have any intent of helpinâ out âcause from where Iâm sittinâ you pull this crap again nâ again. And for some reason, no oneâs had the good sense to beat it outta you yet.â
Not thatâs he volunteering for that part. With his temper being as spitfire as it has been for the last few days, weeks maybe, heâs been making a concerted effort to keep himself in check. Still, why someone else hasnât or at least yelled some common sense into this person yet is a mystery to him. Just another mystery in this facility, one supposes.
