This took me far to long but I like how they came out. The one with john father allred and Garcia there cutting John's hair, not his eye btw. I was also gonna pixelate all of them but forgot and only did Amy's.
Sapphires with all their hardness have a pretty low tolerance to thermal shock, meaning in a fire they'll crack, so poor Jill whose had to run through so many fires in re3, (at least the remake) would definitely crack a little

Phosphophilite is an incredibly soft stone on the mohs scale 3.5. chitin is 2.5 meaning it can be scratched by phosphollite, the arts a bit rough I know but I'm proud of it
So basically they are gems like in hnk but the world's the same

So for Leon I chose phosphophylite not only because his arc over the games is reminiscent of the arc phos goes through in hnk but because it represents overcoming hardships and difficulties which totally fits leon
i used the raw piece of phosphophylite for young Leon and the faceted for older leon.
So I chose rhodnocrosite for Chris because it represents overcoming grief and with how many people Chris has lost and his grief being such a core part of his character
I chose rhodnodite for Claire as I believe it's a related stone to rhodnocrosite and its nick named the love stone it's said to help with self love and stuff like that. And I think Claire as a person does have so much love she shares with those around her, she practically adopted sherry and even in Chris's darkest hour she's there. Hell she's even helped Leon plenty of times
I chose saphire for Jill less for it's meaning and more for its physical properties. It's got a mohs of 9 out of 10 and jill is a very strong person. Saphire is a stone of wisdom and Jill our favorite lockpick seems like the type to have a lot of that. She keeps a level head on her shoulders.
Emerald for Wesker is another stone I chose more for physical properties. Emeralds are pretty high on the mohs scale with a 7 but they are incredibly brittle. Many emeralds (if I recall correctly) are covered in an (oil?) or something like that so the micro fractures are much less visible. But ultimately emerald is a very brittle stone and breaks easily. Which Wesker would probably have an inferiority complex about. Emeralds because of their inclusions (the same things that make them brittle) are also very very temperamental when it comes to heat. which with Wesker's death I feel like that fits.
Im gonna be honest I don't know rebbecca as a character very well, I only got part way through re9 and I've only seen infinite darkness for the films. It's used to represent abundance it's said to promote happiness too and rebbecca is a very bubbly person.
For grace I chose herkimer Diamond .Herkimer diamonds are from a spesific mine in new york and have a very distinct shape. It's called the attunement stone as it's said it clears your mind and it's used to amplify manifestations. With how Zeno and Gideon treat her like shes just gonna just immediately unlock elpis for them I feel like it fits.
I made a land of the lusterous inspired rock au for resident evil and I'm debating posting it, basically everything's the same but everyone is basically gem creature like land of the lusterous (rocks carved in the shape of humans that can move) and the viruses still mutate people and stuff but since theyre rocks the virus's are a type of fungi that causes mutations that are very much alive and meaty despite everyone being gems
You know I read a fic where grace was an eridian shifter. But I haven't seen rocky be a human shifter. I want to see him running around playing in highly flammable oxygen atmosphere. Have him see. Could you imagine him seeing Adrian-
I'm a sucker for Outsider POV. I love all those ideas of seeing through Earth's eyes as they watch Grace's footage etc.
But has anyone thought of making a sort of Yao & Ilhyukhina Ghost!AU shenanigans? Like they're the nosiest people to haunt the Hail Mary, commenting/nagging on EVERYTHING Grace does like a duo of grandmas in the parc. Gossip become even juicer when Simon arrives, or Grace stumbles into Simon, your choice. They take bet on who kiss first, eat popcorn and are protective of Grace even if they can't be seen/heard/felt. They even go as far as to "haunt" Simon if he hurts Grace, intentionally or not. Like banging on the walls while he passes by or breath down his neck once in a while (they still keep it pretty toned down, they realise quickly Simon is twitchy and they don't want to make it a hell for Grace to live in the spaceship with a caged, nervous and terrified animal, but STILL, they need to make Simon see what he did was BAD!!)
(They also cheer when the two hug for the first time. Bonus point if somehow they need to intervene to push those two knuckleheads together to talk or something)
Like, Ilhyukhina bitching about her vodka draining down Grace's stomach as soon as they wake up. Yao being the sort of chillier yet compassionate, silent camarade. They are astounded by Rocky's arrival, they facepalm when Grace tries (and fail) to pilot the HM or when he chickens out of his first space diving. Also them trying to cheer Grace up and rooting for him during the fishing session, etc etc.
Bonus point if somehow, Rocky senses some entities hovering around Grace all the time and ghosts have international language translator once they die so they also gossip with Rocky.

As much as I want to think that Leon’s spouse (if they’re a random character) would be the worried “oh my god what happened?!” type- I cannot shake the thought of both of them being like:
Sitting at the dining room table casually talking about the boring paper work side of thier jobs. The spouse glances over at the new scars on Leon’s forearms. Leon notices the slight bags under thier eyes and hair parted to hide healing bruises.
Neither of them mention because neither of them has to. That is work.
