– ☾ –  The goddess raised a curious brow as the young man spoke, her face and posture stoic and unmoved by his words.  “Trying to be poetic are we?”, Chang’e at last chimed in after what felt to any like a century of silence.

“It doesn’t suit you. Not for someone your age. You’re too stiff and mature though that’s from all your training, surely.”, she cringed, knowing well of where he called his home. 

“Your Sect needs to liven up. I have lived for far too long watching you lot drown yourselves in your books and studies and ugh, rules. Life...” The being paused, the gleam in Chang’e’s eyes seemingly fading as the past was brought to the forefront of her mind. “...life is far too short. Spend it doing the things that make you happy and with the people who make you even happier.Spend it under these brilliant lights of the night, curtesy of yours truly. There. Sage advice from a Goddess. I expect an offering at my shrine by morning. No delays.”

“BUT that still doesn’t answer my question as to how you wound up in Lunaria and are here before my throne with an unbecoming expression on your face.”, she stated, crossing her arms over her chest. “So, let’s try this again. Since you were not summoned and my lions did not bring you here, then HOW are you here? And more importantly, why?”

Mulan you need volume but not too much, not with your face shape, unless you want to look like you have an unusually small head. Which seems to be a look for some, a terrible look, but a look none-the-less. And I’m not saying to drown yourself in jewelry, only a few can pull that off, like myself, but a nice decorative hair pin. Beads. Something! Give me something, please! I bet you won’t regret it if you give it a try.”

Chang’e tapped her nail against her cheek, eyes narrowing as if to get a better glimpse of the woman standing there in front of the goddess' throne, silently pondering how to approach such a delicate statement.

“It seems, Mulan, that we both did what we had to. And unfortunately for the both of us, we have to face the consequences of our actions, be they good or bad.”, the goddess replied, her gaze trailing down to the floor as thoughts of her beloved Houyi filled her mind. “ The past is in the past. What is important is what we do now with our futures and to make it worth living. A young girl, with a horrible haircut, of all people taught me that....”

– ☾ –  “Bag?!”, the goddess repeated, blinking in confusion until she glanced down at her side, seeing her blue mooncake-in-waiting waving up at her, causing Chang’e to burst into laughter, patting underneath her eyes, fearful she may ruin her makeup.

“That is NOT a bag. That is a friend. There is a difference I’m told.” The mooncake looked up at the goddess, clearly pouting. “A joke! It was a joke, I was just kidding.”, Chang’e explained, patting the mooncake on the head. “Dear, she’s not a bag. Besides, why would I need a bag when everything I need-” Chang’e waved her hand, conjuring a mirror, quickly looking at her reflection to fix her hair. “-I can make appear.”
