Something on progress

You may notice the little differences in all the armor I make. Especially the ones I make for myself, without special commissioner wishes and preferences.  With every new armor I try to include something that I haven’t done before. A new material, a new technique, a new way of doing things :)  So right now I wanna show you what I mean with the last pieces of armor I made. Starting with TFP Soundwave. 

Soundwave was my first TF armor. I had a lot of help making him and he had many flaws. He was too heavy, impossible to transport on trains or planes, had the wrong color and the surfaces were a mess. But damn I was proud. I wore him on many conventions and people loved it and it was fun. I learned a lot from that experience.

Lockdown was a very special project for me. I updated him several times (pretty in character too) to match my current skills. Almost nothing on him is completely original. For the first time I had the problem that I had to transport my armor on planes. I took him to BotCon in 2015. So I had to build smarter and lighter. Everything on him was removable and I kept that building style up to this day. New things also included a chin, a gun on his arm, my first LED and neck armor. 

Kaon was my big LED project. I made my own circuits for his shoulder pieces and put EL wire in his shoulder coils. There was also that spinning chest rotor thing that never actually worked, because my boobies were in the way…

Tyrest was my first flier. (Minus Soundwave, who doesnt have back wings). That boy had shapes I have never done before. His crown was a real challenge and I hadn’t made a cockpit like that before either. That staff had to be easy to transport, so it was made from 4 parts you had to put together. I had to sew every row of scales onto his cape. His wings were something special too of course. I had to figure the pattern out and make them movable and transportable. He also had heels.

Sparkeater (Dörk), the weathering project. I had learned a lot of new techniques for paint and weathering and rust effects and dry brushing and I used all of them. He also had those sharp teeth and the tentacles. I had never done anything like that either. I also called him “Dörk”.

Tarn. Tarn is the perfect mix of a big cosplay and a transportable cosplay. Hes thick, but I can also dissemble almost every part of him. His tread cape is made from actual rubber this time and every link of that tread is holding onto the next one with decorative studs. His mask is removable and has magnets in it. So I can take that off and put it on whenever I want. I also figured out a few new make up techniques for him.

What I want to say here is that there is always a next step and a next project and something new to learn. Every cosplay is a new conquest and you can always take experiences with you to the next big thing. I am looking forward to whatever will be next :)

I'm in search of a TFP or IDW Megatron boob/butt mousepad. Have you happened to see someone selling such a thing? Weird question but I figure you're a good one to ask! 8'D And if not, would you ever consider designing one to sell yourself? # imagine an Optimus themed mouse rolling around on that booty! (I debated clicking anon but OH WELL)

XD I haven’t the foggiest idea where to find an oppai-pad for Megs tbh haha, I found an Arcee/Windblade version on google but it doesn’t look like that particular seller will be doing anything for the guys lol

As for making it- probably not XD; I don’t mind drawing one just for chuckles though hahaha
