Stick is a vampire squid, and, fun fact, despite the name, a vampire squid is neither squid nor octopus, they are their own form of cephalopod, more closely related to the octopus. Because of this, Stick is neither an Inkling or Octoling, and because of Deepsea naming conventions, are not referred to as any sort of âVampyrlingâ or similar titles.
Vampire squids are deep sea creatures, hence why they are a Deepsea Denizen. However, because of this, their lineage had slightly less exposure to the Alternan crystals, and has retained a lot more features of the cephalopods they evolved from.
They retained the feeding filaments, they do not posses an ink sac, (and although they can release bioluminescent mucus, it is not compatible with standard ink related devices or sports) their eyes are more adapted for dark environments, having noticeably larger irises than most.
Although they could change their color, it is only within a limited range, generally between variations of black, red, or purple; they cannot change the colors of their photophores at all, they always light up blue.
Stick runs an alternative fashion brand in the Deepsea, making clothing for all sorts of creatures, and even takes custom orders!
They donât exactly know the Inkling language very well, their only exposure being media that was pirated to the Deepsea, since they are forbidden from entering the surface, it can be difficult to buy it legally. They mainly speak Deep (Work in progress name) and a Little bit of Octarian. This gives them a bit of an odd accent compared to most cephalopods.
The type of person to use âFashion Disasterâ as a term of endearment, Stick is a rather chill being, and extremely difficult to anger, though doesnât have very many friends as they usually keep to themself when theyâre not working.
Stickâs birth name is Lux Inksmen Van Squidling IV the Third, though they think that sounds super pretentious and was dubbed âStickâ instead. Though some still call them Lux.
