"Need a hand?" A voice bellowed before a figure of blue and black swooshed in, folding his arms over his chest as he levitated above Unji, "You don't have to fight this one alone, I got you."
'Preciate it, hero. But this is my problem, and I'm not about to involve othersā"
Before he could finish his sentence, Zuma was hit dead center in his chest, slamming his body right into the nearest building, concrete falling down from the hole he was embedded in.
"Shit..." he coughed behind his mask. Luckily, he was in his Yokai form; otherwise, he would've become paste right now. "Alright, I see I'm outmatched here. But if ya get in danger, be sure to flee. I ain't gonna carry your death on my conscience."

"Oh fuck no!" the delinquent bluntly exclaimed as he heard the woman tell him to distract the cops. He already had enough on his plate with the pigs; he didn't need to add 'helping some strange chick for whatever the fuck'. "Ya look shady as shit, lady. I ain't gettin' involved in whatever ya got goin' unless ya explicitly tell meāand it better be a damn good reason!"

The young man felt like his heart was going to come out of his throat. This was the first time he had ever done something like this, and... god, it felt so embarrassing. His body just couldn't take the heat emanating from his own face.
His embarrassment was so much he barely registered when the girl pushed him as he took a few steps back, eyes widened. Oh shit, did he mess it up? Fuck, he felt like such a dork now.
"I um... I'm... shit... I'm sorry." He rubbed the back of his head and looked away, giving a small pouty expression. "I really like ya, so... I couldn't help but go for it... and ya didn't push me away till now, so I... just... kept goin'..."
"I'm no good at this sort of stuff... I didn't mean to make ya uncomfortable... sorry." He couldn't help but turn around, hiding his blush from the girl, hands in his pockets, giving tiny glances at her, a genuine concern as he realizes how deeply red she was about this. "...Ya doin' alright? You're beet red."
Send my muse asks about anything and everything, anon or not!
Ā Ā Ā Ā The moment Zuma pulls out an envelope, her gaze is quick to shift downwards. Well, thankfully, she understood Japanese from teaching herself the language back when Butterfly's Poison didn't have an English localization, so even if the questions themselves were written in kanji or katakana, they shouldn't pose too much of a challenge.
Ā Ā Ā Ā With that in mind, Vivian soon accepts it from the hand he extended before prying the sheet of paper out from past the confines and carefully unfolding it.
Ā Ā Ā Ā "Hm.. now, let's see here," she ponders aloud. By that point, her eyes widened as a light bulb subsequently went off in her head. "Ah, I remember most of these questions! Okay, maybe I'm not so dumb after all," came her eventual acknowledgement. Mere moments later, she'll then glance upwards. "You have a pen I can borrow, Zuzu? I'll write down the answers to the questions I know," Vivian states. Though, even if he didn't have a pen, she supposes she can always pull one out from her backpack.
"Hm? Oh!" Zuma patted his coat, looking for anything that could at least resemble a pen... the smart thing would've probably been to be prepared for this since he intended to study, huh? This lack of preparation almost made the delinquent feel embarrassed.
Luckily enough, he was able to pull out a rather big permanent marker.
"Is this good? I got it from some punks who were vandalizin' the hospital." Zuma explained as he handed it to her. It wasn't exactly the sort of marker you'd use to write on a small piece of paper. It was more of a drawing on boards or for graffiti.
"That right, huh" He smiles sadly - happy to have someone who can understand but also sad that such a seemingly decent guy had gone through it as well.
Seemed as though there was one sad but seemingly universal truth wherever he went - people could be judgmental as all hell.Ā Look first and judge later.Ā Man, did it make him sick to his stomach.
Still, it was difficult for him to feel too bitter when he knew there were still some decent guys out there - this guy being chief among them! Heā¦seemed genuinely cool.
Following behind Zuma, Ryuji had beamed as he'd heard Zuma's introduction - right to the heart of things and blunt! His kind of guy! Naturally, Ryuji was never one to say silent for long.Ā "Yo! My name's Ryuji - like Zuma just said, I had a bit of a shitty go of it at my old school but I'm ready to start fresh here!"
As the old saying went - onwards and upwards! Of course, he didn't know how well Zuma's friends would take to him and the silence that followed was almost nerve-wracking until finally, one of them piped up.
"Happy to be here, dudeā¦!" He was initially taken aback at such a warm welcome but man, was he happy to hear it! "Makes me happy to hear that! Hope you know the same goes for you all!"
"C-Cuteā¦? M-Meā¦?" He couldn't help but bark nervously, now looking over at one of the girls, a hand nervously tousling his hair.Ā "I-I don't got a girlfriend or nothingā¦"
Funny how in just the span of a few short moments, he felt like he'd found his peopleā¦like true friends - and really, he owed it all to his new buddy, Zuma!
Seeing Ryuji integrated so quickly within his crew made him crack a small smile. The young delinquent felt oddly proud of the fact he was able to form such a tightly-knit group with people who used to be considered outcasts.
As he notices Ryuji was getting a bit more overwhelmed by the attention, he approached and put his hand on his shoulder.
"Got popular pretty fast, huh?" he spoke with a small smirk on his face. "Sorry 'bout that, these freaks wouldn't know tact if it punched them in the face."
'Look who's talking! Mr. 'I'll punch y'all if you ain't polite!'' one of the members of hi exclaimed, making the others of the crew laugh loudly.
"Oh, shut up, you busybodies." Unji retorted, clearly embarrassed by the jab, making the crew laugh even harder.
//Sorry for disappearing guys, things been pretty hectic lately, but next week I will be more active since I'll finally have my time off from work!
"Ahā¦at my old school - people often used to think I was some sort of a violent guy." He manages a small self deprecating chuckle as he lightly tugs at the tips of his hair.Ā "Unfortunately - while your school might be plenty crappy - my old one had its problems too - was plenty judgmental about people - could be about anything, even just how they lookedā¦" He shakes his head, not missing that place in the least.Ā "Can't say I'm sad to be gone from there."
For now that was about as much as he wanted to say on his old school and as he saw his new buddy walking away, he initially assumed that this was goodbye - blinking curiously as it seemed as though his new friend wanted him to follow.Ā "S-Sureā¦!" Bobbing his head up and down quickly, he trots behind his new companion eagerly.Ā "If they're as chill as you, I can't wait to meet 'emā¦!"
"Yeah, I know the feelin'..." Zuma replied, thinking back to his more delinquent days.
But to be honest, at least he gave reasons for people to be judgemental. As far as he could tell, Ryuji didn't, so people being judgemental of him was extra shitty.
It didn't take long for Zuma to approach the place where his crew hangs out alongside Ryuji. The young delinquent took the lead and promptly called his crew to look over.
"Yo! This guy here's new to Renjaku's school, his name's Ryuji! He had a shitty time in his old school. So, if any of ya bastards make him feel unwanted in this school, I'll kick all your asses, ya hear!" Zuma bluntly yelled while pointing to the bleached-haired blond.
An unreadable silence fell over the introduction. The members of the crew just scanned the other up and down with tough to read expressions, until they finally broke the silence.
"Welcome to our school, Ryuji!" One of the guys exclaimed. "If there's ever any trouble, just holler! We'll be right there."
"Heeey, he's kind of cute," One of the gyaru-looking girls said, giving a flirty smile. "You have a girlfriend back there?"
The crew started talking with him like he was pretty much part of them all, which made Unji smile, leaning against the wall, watching Ryuji being rather popular.
"I think you enjoy keeping people guessing."

Realizing how insulting his bluntness might come across, Zuma decides to actually elaborate what he means by it.
"Back then in the diorama, when ya were all wicked badass? Reminded me of like Joseph Joestar or somethin', just revealin' your brainiac strategy at the last minute." He put his hands in his pockets, his eyes still holding his usual stoic expression, Zuma didn't know how to properly speak with girls, and comparing Momo to a muscly shounen hero was proof of that. "Honestly, I probably would do the same if I were smarter 'bout my shit."

Eyes widened at the revelation. Her grandma? Like... her 60s and shit? There ain't no way. That woman didn't have a single wrinkle on her face! Is this some sort of yokai nonsensery?
Well, Zuma decided to let it go. It was probably rude to talk about how old someone looked or not, and the boy was trying to be more polite nowadays, per Masamichi's threat-I mean, request.
"Hey, beatin' people up ain't the only thing I'm good at..." The boy chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. It was... odd to just drop his defenses like this with anyone, let alone someone he had met not that long ago.
But... it felt weirdly natural with her. "Mother wasn't great in the kitchen, and... my bro was too young, so cookin' duties fell to me."
Fuck, what's happening to you, Unji Zuma?
-
Zuma had prepped himself as they both got back to the house. He put on an apron and some cloth around his head so as to not let any hair fall on the food.
"Time to show you all what Zuma's cooking about!"

"..." The young delinquent quietly scanned the other man up and down, his eyes still holding that stoic gaze he's known for. Zuma didn't know who the other was, but he could tell he was trouble. Something about the way he carried himself... it just rang all sorts of alarms in Zuma's mind.
"My crew and I don't do 'mischief', or whatever else you're sellin' here." His words were blunt, aggressive, decisive. The young delinquent didn't know the other, so he knew he had to keep his guard up. "Who are you? What do you want?"

"Yea, stay behind me!" 'Brella Unji exclaimed as he pushed the girl behind him, scanning his surroundings for any weird activity. It was probably nothing, maybe just an owl flying away into the night sky, or just some deer stepping on a stick.
But 'Brella Unji didn't quite exactly work with the same rational mindset as regular Unji did. He was more... chivalrous, trying too hard to be the protective hero, almost to a comedic degree.
"I won't let anythin' happen to you, got my word on that."
He started walking forward to keep the girl behind him, ready to fight if necessary.

"You tell me. You probably have more experience with this stuff than I do." Zuma stated, referring to Rin being friends with an exorcist apprentice and an alien expert. Zuma had like two, at most three moments in his life where the supernatural became his problem. As far as he was aware, he was a small fish in comparison to Momo and her gang.
The young man kept walking across the quiet, abandoned mansion, hands in his pockets as he caught small glances at the bespectacled girl, making sure she was okay.
"Hey, you can hang back if ya want. I know we were both tasked with this, but I'm sure this is like... some weak-sauce ghost or something. I can handle him."
He spoke, giving the girl Rin an out. Zuma didn't know her very well, but he was aware of her type. The school prefect, the girl who had all the best grades and was just uncomfortable in unusual situations like this one.
There was a time the young delinquent would scoff at this sort of person, but nowadays? He kind of got it. No one should be experiencing this kind of risk, especially when they have so much to lose.
And Rin? Well, she seemed like a smart girl academically, risking her life here was a bigger waste to the world than his own life.
He stopped and looked at her, trying his best to let a comforting expression come across his usual stern and stoic one. "It's fine, lemme be the gentleman n' shit."
Smug bastard. He should consider himself lucky that Jins' distrust in him wasn't as heavy as before. Hell -- he even earned some 'coolness points' on his end after their little plane trip. Wouldn't be standing here now if not for his help.
The way he knew just how to to push Jins' buttons irritated him to no end, but he was certain that Zuma was well aware. Just look at him. Standing there. Exposing himself and begging for Jin to make the first shot.
Consider that a deduction in coolness points! Not low enough to plunge into the negatives, but he was damn nearing it.
"You're SO on!" The corner of his mouth twitched into a toothy smirk, all the while limbering himself up with outstretched arms and prepping his right in particular.
"Just don't go cryin' to your gang to avenge you afterwards." He adds as he steps closer until gradually picking up the pace. Once within range, he lowers himself with his right at the ready and aims it straight for the delinquents' gut in a full swing. He intends to cause damage regardless, anything to prove that he meant business and didn't need Evil Eye to back him up on it.
Time to let his fists do the talking.
"Ooof"
Zuma let out a grunt along any air he had in his lungs as the other's punch hit. Goddamn he was strong, he just felt years of physical training right on his gut right now.
Goddammit!!! He couldn't even play it off, clingy boyfriend was actually legitāmore than legit. He was tougher than many wannabe punks out there.
"That's some Ivy League punch there, clingy boyfriend." He tried to let out a laugh but the lack of air made it difficult.
He held the other in place with his hands on his shoulders, his gaze filled with pure aggression.
"One issue though, this ain't no school wrestling." Zuma raised his right fist, his left hand still holding his shoulder. He immediately punched the other straight to the side of his face.
