Rant ahead; tired of puritans

I hope im wrong about this but I swear if Senketsuakochan ends up breaking up because of western fans with zero media literacy and zero understanding of menhera kei, im gonna lose it.

You dumb fucks are the reason visual kei bandomen don’t like western fans. You dumb fucks are the reason they end up having to block foreigners as a god damn safety measure.

You might think you have noble reasons like ‘calling people out for romanticizing and glorifying _’ but no. You don’t even understand what those words mean. You weaponize those words in a performative manner in order to justify yourselves. You don’t understand this genre, you don’t understand Visual Kei. You have no media literacy. You’re the reason the fanbase is toxic, because you think it’s okay to harass people over art and music that have concepts that go over your thick little heads.

You support and want to act performative regarding mental illness until it’s the ugly side of mental illness being shown and expressed. You censor it, missing the entire point of visual kei showing darker and difficult issues, usually issues that are considered too taboo to discuss in conservative society. You’re no different to those the counterculture is countering.

Sick of this purity culture invading fan spaces and I’m sick of puritans being what damage the image of western fans.
