So, I was talking to my 18 year old cousin who has little time left on this earth due to his disorder. We were having a heart to heart and he asked me a question that was a difficult one to answer. “What is love? What does it feel like? Have you ever been in love?” It took me awhile to answer, I mean how do you explain love to someone who has never experienced it and might not ever? After a long while of thinking I finally found the words to describe love.
"Yeah…I have been in love, believe it or not. Love is a difficult thing to describe so I will just tell you my experience with it.
Love is just wounderful. Think of when you were the happiest and multiply that by 50. When you love a person, there is not a time where you dont think of them. When you are with each other time comes to a hult and it feels like there is nothing other then them and yourself. When they hold you in their arms there is no where else you would rather be. Their embrace makes you feel safe, like nothing can hurt you, not even deaths cold grib can tear you away. When you look in their eyes what you see is all that you will ever need or ever hope for. The way they smell, the way they breath, it just draws you in and you want to treasure the moment forever. You can feel the love in your heart just explode from you because the feeling is so overwhelming you can’t hold your love for them in any longer. Every day you spend together feels like a dream, it feels like heaven. You become the happiest person ever to be, or so, thats how it feels.
The only down fall of falling in love is the way it makes you feel when they leave. When they leave you, you feel lost. You feel your heart shatter and the pain you feel in your heart feels so real and its like you are dieing. It could be years sence you have parted and you can still dream of how in love you were only to wake up to reality and feel your heart break all over agian.
Don’t let the thought of the heartache prevent you from falling in love though. Love is truely amazing and wounderful in the moment.”
