To build up the interest, a group of girls loses their leader and they reunite after a year receiving intimidating messages from the mysterious and vicious ‘A’. So, its season 5 is on Netflix!
5. Nightcrawler (2014)
This super-duper crime thriller is the directorial debut of Dan Gilroy and it is undoubtedly a must-watch flick. The best part about this movie is its unorthodoxy that brings it closer to what is really going on into the contemporary world dominated by media. Then there’s its marvelous storyline, where a criminal becomes a freelance crime journalist for a living. It’s not exactly as what you’re thinking it is, but it is a good one!
6. Rosewater (2014)
This drama is based upon the memoir of Iranian Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, when he was detained by militant forces in Iran. The Iranian forces considered the journalist to be a spy, for which he had to face the brutal interrogation. It is the depiction of what incidents happened with Maziar Bahari during the violent interrogation.
7. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-Present) Season 2
We all remember S.H.I.E.L.D. from Marvel’s Avengers; well then this TV show is about the missions of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Yes this is the abbreviation of S.H.I.E.L.D., if you never came across it. Now you can watch the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Netflix. Isn’t it mouth watering for the binger watchers?
8. Orange is the New Black (2013-Present) Season 3
What can we say about this Emmy-winning Netflix Original? Orange is the New Black is one of the most watched Netflix original and it is one the most talked about show this year. The show is about a female prisoner Piper Chapman who is incarcerated for her decade old crime and her time in the Litchfield prison among other inmates. At last, the third season of Orange is the New Black!
9. Scandal (2012-Present) Season 4
This political drama is based upon a former White House Communications Director, who decides to start her own crisis management firm, leaving her past associated with government behind. However, she realized at many times that how much tries, her past associations are not going to leave her alone. This show is full of secrets and politics, that’s why it has a name matching the whole story.
10. Antarctica: A Year on Ice (2013)
This stunning documentary depicts what it’s like to spend a whole year in the coldest place on earth. It chronicles a whole year including summers when the sun never sets and the winters when it never rises for months. This documentary film has exceptional visual effects that undoubtedly take the breath away. Imagine experiencing a whole year in Antarctica that is the coldest place on this planet!
11. Danger Mouse: Seasons 1–10 (1981–1992)
Your kids will love the adventures of the greatest secret agent mouse on this planet. It is a British cartoon series, in which the danger mouse follows the orders of Colonel K and completes the adventurous mission in a way that your kids won’t stop laughing through the episode. It is a complete fun-packed vintage animated series for your kids.
12. Two Days, One Night (2014)
This foreign drama film uncovers the wisdom with a simple surface idea. It is directed by Dardenne brothers who belong to Belgium. The movie is based upon a struggle of Sandra, the protagonist, to persuade her coworkers in letting their monetary bonus go, so she can get her job back. Marion Cotillard has played the role of Sandra, who personally meets each of her sixteen coworkers to get her job back. A truly affecting piece!
13. Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of (2015)
Yeah! This one is exactly what you might think of it. It is the documentary film about one the greatest boy bands ever in the history of music. The more exciting part is that this documentary was released in the beginning of 2015 that means it is latest. All the Backstreet Boys fans should be excited about this, as they can get to know what they are made of!
14. Lee Daniels' The Butler (2013)
This direction of Lee Daniels depicts the notable occurrences of 20th century from the eyes of an African American butler, serving as a butler in the White House. It is based upon the life of Eugene Allen and this historical drama presents the important chapters of the history from the perspective of a butler, who is physically close to the governmental occurrences. But it is more historic than it is political and vice versa!
15. Point and Shoot (2014)
This documentary film has won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, which means it has some really good stuff. It is based upon the journey of a 27 years old guy, who begins his journey with a camera in his hands, but his ‘crash course in manhood’ leads him to handle a gun with the camera too, as he takes part in the Libyan Revolution. A real crash course in manhood!
16. Heartland (2007-Present) Season 6
This family show is based upon the life of a family who thrive together in all the good and the bad times. This Canadian TV series is mainly based upon the main character named Amy Fleming Borden, played by Amber Marshall, who tries to recover from the tragic accident that killed her mother. While this, she discovers her ability of natural horsemanship that she inherited from her mother. It is a perfect family show that has emotions, love, passion, and family values!
17. A Most Wanted Man (2014)
This thriller is directed by Anton Corbijn that tells the story of a Chechen Muslim who illegally migrates to Hamburg and gets caught. In the name of international war on terror, this half-Chechen half-Russian gets brutally tortured that leads him to become A Most Wanted Man for German and US security agencies.
18. Beyond the Lights (2014)
This one is a great drama film based upon a music artist who gets the taste of stardom but finds out that it not what she desired to get. Under the pressure of stardom, she tries to take her life, but a cop saves her for doing it. Yes! The love story begins and the professional careers of these two begin to get disturbed.
19. Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour (2015)
Hey Katy Perry’s fans, you must have heard about The Prismatic World Tour. Yes! It was meant to support Katy’s fourth album ‘Prism’. Well guess what, you can watch the whole world tour on your screens, because you didn’t really get to attend the whole tour with Katy, unless you were the part of her team.
20. Dragons: Race to the Edge (2015) Season 1
Do you remember How to Train Your Dragon? At least kids would remember those good animated movies. Well, Netflix has planned to give you thirteen episodes that are based on the story of Hiccup, Night Fury, and the rest of the gang. Here comes another political thriller that has some bases in the War on Terror. However, in this movie, the protagonist is a young enthusiastic Pakistani with a dream of corporate success on Wall Street. But, things don’t go as he might have imagined them to be, especially in post 9/11 America. This drama is actually a representative of many brown people, especially Pakistanis, residing in US, who suffered the aftermath of 9/11.Well, well, well! Why you should watch a sub title series, well why people just don’t have the habit to read? Reading sub title can be something really good for your brain. Reading always helps in your vocabulary, and Grammar no matter if you are a British English speaker. Reading is still worth it and yes ! Subtitles are enjoyable!

Superhero Labor and May Day with Avengers: Age of Ultron
It’s just a few more days when the Avengers reunite to fight one of Marvel’s most powerful supervillains, Ultron, played by James Spader. It’s big as expected because it can’t be dull action superhero flick where Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye team up. But, Ultron is not the only trouble the Avengers have to deal with. Joss Whedon has brought the mutant siblings in this time. Yes! These are none other than Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. The characters are played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen respectively. The official introduction of these Avengers/Villains took place in the final trailer of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Take a look:

Whoa! This one looks a must must must watch, as the action, story, and unusual teamwork of Avengers seems a thrilling entertainment blockbuster. The most interesting thing that I will be looking at is the development of the mutant siblings to become Avengers. Because it is shown in one of the scenes that Quicksilver punches Captain America that shows him as a villain. But on the other hand the scene from the top has Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver fighting the robots brought up by Ultron with all of the other Avengers. The humor of Tony Stark is also a must see, as his opening dialogues that he is not the boss, he only finances and make the Avengers look cool. The irony is that Captain America is the leader, but the team still has a vague teamwork and leadership. It is fair because each avenger is a boss of their own realms. Well we all have to wait for this big Avengers 2 and don’t forget to book the tickets in advanced, because you won’t be getting the tickets for the first day later on. It certainly is going to a house full and a superb Labor Day and May Day.
A look back at House of Cards Season 3 - It’s All About Underwoods
You must have completed all 13 episode of House of Cards Season 3 by now. No this one isn’t going to be started with some fancy words, demonstrating the cold attitude of Frank, with comparatively increased intelligence of everyone in this third season. It was important for them, because Frank’s White House madness must have sophistication, for which they must be more intelligent in their dirty plays.
With this slightly low introduction, resembling to the slow start of Season 3, it’s good to ask, did you watch House of Cards on Netflix? I mean, did you binge watch the 677 minutes of pure politically twisted drama? Or you took the dose episode by episode? Whatever the case is, most of you must have finished it up by now, and those who haven’t yet, will be ending it soon.
It’s All about the Battle of Underwoods
Frank is not anywhere in the good thirty minutes of the first episode, though he give us his ruthless behavior, especially in the scene where he visits his father’s grave. The line he tells us:
“I wouldn’t be here if I had a choice… you have to be a little human when you’re the president”
And then he comes up with his real attitude back again. The scene I’m referring must have been seen by everyone. Yeah it is the scene where Frank pees on his father’s grave, specifically the tombstone where the name is written. Then he returns to his nasty dark White House business.
Season 3 is politically very sound, as Frank’s White House is a place of egocentricity, dishonesty, and insincerity, where everyone is intoxicated with the darkness of power. We can’t miss Claire Underwood, who begins to give Franks chills in the end of the first episode. Now, Frank actually list down his enemies, where Claire is the least anticipated, yet the most lethal one.
Frank’s line of being human does not only reflect his actions that he has to do, but it also directs towards what he can’t do now. Yeah, he can’t just murder his enemies like he did in the past. We wish Frank wouldn’t have killed Zoe Barnes, as she was a talented one to become a threat for Francis Underwood. But being a president and have million eyes on him, he can’t just finish off his enemies in a snap.
The previous seasons were Frank’s omnipotence, where there was nothing that’s stopping him. But things were different here in the third season. The show is now a mature one, where the sophistication is elevated in the war of power between Underwoods. It was much needed in this season, because Frank is now the president and it is time for him to learn more about bowing down.
His attitude of ‘by hook or by crook’ is different now and it was important, as the 2nd season had Frank being unstoppable. It was good to see the fall in the ruthless attitude of Frank. No! It not like we didn’t like Frank in the previous seasons, but man changes, when he earns what he had been thriving for. And in this case, Frank had to change, as he noted in the beginning “if he had a choice”.
Well, if you had been busy on 27th February to stream House of Cards Season 3, then you must have come across with ending by now, because the show just got better, as it always was. The unorthodox couple of Frank and Claire again amazed us with their tensed and ambiguous relationship. The flow of the show is just too good, as every character is playing the roughed up non-physical, but brutal, fights and these include Frank’s strive to thrive as well.
In the end we get it again, a year long wait to see what’s coming next. Though the ending was unexpected, as no one could anticipate the ‘Frank’s re-election’ would take place. Meanwhile, we can just run the marathon again, so its taste doesn’t go away (which is difficult).
