Liar (Ben Hardy x Reader) - Part XIII
summary: if your best friend had lied to you and you’d kept them around, you’d be a good friend. at least, that’s what joe would say.
2k words, ben x reader, this ones angsty folks. it surely is s l o w. fuckin’ slow. and nice and painful, just the way i like it (muahahahahaha) i had considered just making this one a large chapter, but how will the slowburn truly be slow, otherwise?

here’s part twelve, for you to come up to speed!!
Who works on a Saturday morning?
Who, really, sits and works on work stuff on a Saturday morning, while your amazing flatmate tempted you with bacon and eggs?
Joe’s tempting was working, you were on the verge of getting up and grabbing a serving for yourself, but you had a feeling that any semblance of care from a friend would make you lose your cool.
It was only when you heard the sound of a plate sliding across the table that you looked up from your planner. Joe’s lopsided smile came into view, his eyes scanning your face for any signs of needing help. “Brought it to you so you wouldn’t have to get up.”
“Thanks, Joey,” you whispered, tapping the nib of your pen onto the paper till there were several dots all across the page.
“You don’t mind if I just sit here? I’ll be on my phone, I won’t disturb you.” Joe had his hands held out in front of him in defense. He dropped them when you nodded guiltily, giving you a wider smile and sitting down across you.
True to his word, he scrolled through his phone for the entirety of his first cup of coffee, occasionally letting out a chuckle. It was when he got up to refill both of your mugs that you finally pushed your planner and laptop to the side, putting your elbows on the table a little too harshly.
Joe came out to see your face buried in your hands, your body slumped beyond belief. He put the mug down as silently as he could, still not saying anything.
He cleared his throat to get your attention a full five minutes later, asking, “Ben’s still in there?”
