Her schedule had been open today. She had weekends off from work, and Vegito had elected to go off for a rigorous training session with Whis on Beerus' planet; leaving her with her own plans to form. Calling up Ninazu to see if she wanted to hang out was what Amita landed on, soon coming to relax in the living room. She had been expecting Zamasu to be here as well, but he was out at the moment getting fresh air, having taken his pet pig Chai with him. Could've been a concern, if she hadn't already been briefed on the development of his improved behavior.

Amita honestly didn't want to talk at length about the current situation though, as what else could be said that hasn't already? And there was a particular skill the younger woman possessed that had piqued her interest a long time ago; now was good a time as any to inquire.

Her lack of direct involvement with Goku's group over the years, over a decade at this point, meant she didn't know most of their history. She was aware Ninazu had managed to heal severe wounds Zamasu had been dealt by the hands of Trunks and her significant other; it called back to the nagging wonder. Amita was confident in her intricate understanding of ki manipulation, but in its apparent regenerative properties - not so much. Blocking or unblocking ki was different from regrowing damaged flesh.

looking back at amita's old headcanons is funny because most feel a bit outdated. i've expanded on her abilities for one; i'll eventually go in depth about them here

i have such a distinct, new look for amita's hair in my mind now. maybe i can try to draw it tomorrow

(it still has its overall shape, but more stylized to be curly i guess. and yes the rabbit ear-esque fluffs are staying don't worry)

VERY happy I started the fic because it's gotten me to think about Amita heavily again for the first time in a year or so.

In Triclops culture, the world itself is considered sacred and should be treated as such as a part of one following the path of righteous living (aka dharma as a summarized label). Respect to the environment is a given, it's also important to treat wildlife with the same care as they too play a key part in the cycle of nature. This has led to the Triclops largely following vegetarian diets with few exceptions, and it's a norm for they to have animal companions.

While she's bitter over many aspects of her upbringing, Amita's love for nature and animals is still as strong as ever. It's what encouraged her to pursue a career in animal healthcare, and become a veterinary technician. It's hard to see pets suffering, especially when there's little that can ultimately be done in the end (it's the worse when a pet has to be put to sleep), but she does feel a true sense of enrichment through helping many recover. She disagrees with how her people have implemented it in their daily lives, but knowing that she is following a path of righteousness helps her feel better over her decision to run away from the village decades ago.

Contrary to what one may suspect, Amita doesn't have her own pet and doesn't plan on getting one. It's not out of dislike towards the idea of an animal being in her home, she actually pet-babysits for her neighbors semi often and has done some fostering; it just feels unnecessary. She feeds the "furbaby care" craving plenty through her work.

i know my art of her usually has it out (because newcomers wouldn't think she's a triclops if it was hidden), but amita realistically doesn't reveal her third eye that often. whenever it's open, her vision changes in a way that can get annoying or overstimulating - and she doesn't yet know how to control its "on and off" function.

it's the most useful in battle, so that's typically when she has it uncovered and open.

i quit my job today, so.....perhaps i can legit start picking up activity around here 👀

ofc i really need to lock in with this new job hunt, but i'm glad i'm able to breathe a bit for a while.

it has just hit me that i haven't thought about future amita's story and verse at all. and it immediately made me sad because she absolutely sensed goku die, which was a little depressing, but when all of the dragon team dies to the androids she has a borderline panic attack.

i figure satan city gets compromised before long when 17 and 18 set their sights on it, but i can't decide on if she would link up with gohan and trunks to help them fight 17 and 18 or not...though it would make sense for her to do so since she would be one of the strongest on earth at that point, and they would need all the help they could get.

it feels a little boring for her end to be to the androids like everyone else, but hey, they did kill gohan. so, she ultimately dying to them too makes sense. in order to not disrupt canon beats too much, she can die before gohan and be yet another tragedy that encourages them to keep trying.

this and everything else of course prevents her from ever getting the chance to meet vegito. which ngl, is probably the saddest part about future amita for my sappy ass heart 💔
