what would be the best way to get the man
alone?
the other was guarded. careful. and armed.
hayden thought for a moment before cupping his
hands around his mouth.
his voice was weak, feigning injury. the siren moved
back, further into the shelter of the trees before assuming
a position on the ground. the illusion of a wound took form
on his leg. he took extra care to make sure his voice would
only be heard by the target in question.

“ please… please is anyone there? “
alright, this was FISHY. diath turned to the rest of his party, seeing that nobody else had heard the cry for help. “ guys? i heard someone calling for help. i think we should go investigate. ”
“ huh? ” a young paladin rubbed her eyes, looking up at diath somewhat blearily. she’d almost settled down for bed, but upon hearing diath’s words, she jumped up. “ what?! well, we gotta go find ‘em an’ give ‘em the light o’ Lathander to help ‘em out! ”
“ evelyn, i don’t think they want LATHANDER, but if you still have any hands to lay on, that would be good. diath, are you SURE you heard someone? ” another young woman ( who may not have been human; it was hard to tell under her cloak and robes ) piped up. “ i-i didn’t hear anything. ”
“ can’t say i heard anything, either, ” the final member of the party spoke, his words SLURRED.
“ paultin, you’re drunk, ” diath said. “ your perception’s not at its peak. i’m not going alone, so i suggest we all go together, just in case. i agree with you, strix, this doesn’t seem RIGHT. ” with that, he motioned for his friends to come forward, and with a little bit of reluctance, they agreed, moving further into the forest.
