Hi friends! Catahoula is seeking contributors for its fourth issue, the fashion issue. We are looking for smart writing and pieces that push beyond the superficial and delve into the psychology and social ramifications of what we choose to wear. From the humorous to the serious, we want it all. Examples of what we like include works that encompass race, class, religion, body images, gender identity, self-awareness, etc... Submissions (up to 2,500 +/- words) are open to poetry, fiction, personal essays, comic strips and more. We are also seeking artwork and photography. Please send JPEGs of at least 300 dpi resolution. Contributors will receive one complimentary copy of the issue. The deadline for Issue Four is August 31. Send your submissions and inquiries to [email protected] with CATAHOULA ISSUE FOUR in the subject line. Please include a brief bio (two-three sentences) written in the third person and include any personal websites or social media platforms you would like to promote. About Catahoula: Catahoula is a quarterly zine sold in stores such as Crescent City Comics, Defend New Orleans, Non-Society Hands and Rank & File Books. Each issue loosely focuses on a different topic. About the publisher: Christy Lorio is a professional writer and amateur photographer based in New Orleans. Her work has been seen in Nola.com | The Times-Picayune, Gambit Weekly, New Orleans Magazine, Uptown Messenger, New Orleans Bride, Driftwood, Go NOLA, Oxford American and The Toast. She also runs the blog slowsouthernstyle.com.
